You have all the modules unlocked, correct?

Modules?
The unlockable ingame content? (Just a bit)
Or the DLC? (Yes all of it)

I'm GMT-5, so as long as it's in the evening for you guys I'll be available whenever.  I should probably get my skills in order though, I've forgotten a lot of it.

Meh, I believe Battle for Westnoth is pretty much like riding the bike.
You'll do fine.

How about 9pm friday? or 7 saturday?

Friday night is family night, and nobody wants to miss out on family night. That is, it is until the younger kids get to sleep.

I'd be fine with either.
It's not like anybody is waiting for me anyway...

So what do the others say?

So anyone playing this online?
If so, could that person play with me and teach me how to properly adjust my fleet?

Could I get involved if it's Battle For Wesnoth please?
Ohh gods yes.

Drakes.

Of course you can.
The event will be open for everybody.

We will just have to organize the game and map-sizes, so we can spread all the players over several games.

Fine, as the discussion part seems to have failed, I'll be registering the event tomorrow for friday 7pm GMT.

"Oh, on Insane there are only the really good guys playing, you know, the ones who know their shit and stick together", I thought.

How wrong I was.

Also, a guy bent on making teams fail. "I'll be medic" and then getting killed at the first possible moment, shouting FAIL. Be warned.

That's why I always take the medic in random teams...

Did you buy it? Lots of mixed opinions abound so I wanted to know what you guys thought of it.

Personally I doubt my reflexes are sharp enough for this game these days as the pace seems frantic.

I won't get it for the same reason.
Twitch gameplay really shouldn't be in strategy games.

I prefer slower paced RTS or TBS.

So shall it be friday then, for our first meeting?
5 or 7 pm GMT?

Also I have Age of Wonders II: The Wizards Throne.
It would be awesome if I could play it with someone sometime.

Wouldn't an event on the weekend reach more people?

This can act as a a kick-off event, in which we meet up with all the other Westnoth players, as well as introduce it to people who never played it before.
After that we can organize more frequent games or schedule it on other days, organizing them with all the new players we just met.

Battle for Wesnoth? Hell yes.

Though depending on how long this will take, I'd gladly move this back an hour our two.

I would be ok with that.
It really depends on whoever else is interested in playing.

So since most of the Steam events are being quite repetitive, I thought of a way to spice up the Steam community events.

I proposed an night of turn based strategy games and was encouraged to write one of the group admins, to set up an event.
However, I'd like to make sure that people actually show up, as well as reach out for the people who don't use Steam.

I believe the most accesible game for everybody would be Battle for Westnoth, a free TBS fantasy game.
Though I would be open to any other suggestions, as long as the game is easy to aquire/relatively cheap.

The time of the event taking place, would probably be friday 7pm GMT, but it can be changed to suit as many people as possible.

Update:

Jack A T - GMT -8
Dwarguy - GMT -6
PenguinOverlord - GMT -5
Singularity - GMT -5
GlyphGryph - GMT -4
Kilakan - GMT -4
ExKirby - GMT +0
Evilgrim - GMT +0
Myroc - GMT+1
ILikePie - GMT +2
Mindmaker - GMT +2
Muz - GMT +10

This are the people interested in another game, that far.
If you're interested post your GMT and we shall see what course of action we will take.

The game isn't fun at all if there aren't people on. So yeah. you need to go to a populated server for sure.

That's true for every MMO.

I'm not quite sure what your problem was.
Did you have trouble orientate yourself in the game, or are just very few people playing this game?
