When I read 'noble invasion' I imagined a horde of nobles signing the place.  Only instead of attacking, they stand out in the wilds yelling demands for froststeel tables in their bedrooms and banning exports on your most profitable items.

Huzzah indeed! I lost a fort of which I was really fond in the first year to a goblin siege.

I've seen moghoppers. Lungfish also have an unusual tendency to fly.

Really flying? I know irl they use their finds to come up on land and stuff, but literal flying ought to be reported to Mantis.

Not so much a report, but when my fort was sieged by ten goblins, my Speardwarf owned nine of them by herself, and a donkey bit one of them.

There should be a check. Basically the code says "hey, after 5-10 attacks, I have done no damage. Time to switch attacks!" Or even just switch up if it is doing damage. If after 10 attacks something isn't dead then the attacker needs to be doing more damage and try something else.
That's a good idea.  I know next to nothing about coding, but you pought to suggest it Toady.  if it's viable and he likes it, maybe he would use it.

Why should I bother setting up farm plots? I put a dozen barrels in an out-of-the-way stockpile, came back two weeks later, and they were all filled with food! Mind you, I had to fight some anonymous bandits to get to it, but it worked! As a bonus, I accidentally left a -coffer- I was hauling nearby, and I found a full set of masterful steel plate inside, though I had to fight a giant robot thing to get to that. Two weeks later, I fought the same bandits and robot and got more free food and armor! Tell me again why you want me to waste time farming?

Other Dwarfs rushed him to the dorm, his arms are all cut up and he has a fractured kidney. I am in a slatwater biome, so hopefully I can find some drinkable water before it is too late.

Build a well, and if need be, fill it via bucket brigade.  Wells in game have the magical ability to de-salinate salt water.

I had a siege of three Elf Zombies this morning, no necromancer in sight, or even around. It was spring of my second year, just before the usual elves showed up for trade.  The zombies killed some emus, my jeweller, and my guinea hens, then just left.

Yes, and dwarves will tantrum over their deaths as readily as they do any other deaths, provided that the animal was a pet and the dwarf had friends and family.

I know it has only been a few days since I started on this, but I will try my best to get these done as they appear. The week days will be a bit rougher as I will be in college all afternoon. I have found these to be a lot of fun, even if they are really terrible. Also, never knew what wonders you could make with MS Paint (it has a watercolor brush! Did you know that??).






One-shot Wonder. That’s what they would call him after this. That wolverine meant business, but the strength of the engravers fist was enough to shatter it’s skull in a single blow. Needless to say, Urist McEngraver feasted well that night.

EDIT: possessive 's on engraver. Also did a mild touch up on several pictures.

This is better than I hoped.  Awesome!

Well... if they are "Legendary" then shouldn't they be fighting like Legendary Warriors?

Especially when equipped with legendary metals.

That's true, but even the best fighter shouldn't be able to lop off the heads of the 6 enemies surrounding him whilst dodging the crossbow bolts of 10 other enemies

That's very true. Hopefully Toady will be able to fix this.

I for one welcome the idea of Urist McChuckNorris.  Only because I find the idea of this level of badassery to be rather entertaining.

I don't usually get any really epic and useful artifacts; my moody weaponsmiths tend to go for candy warhammers and similar ironic items and other artifacts are just shiny junk menacing with spikes of anything.

My last 34.11 fortress produced a mildly interesting one, though: "Notchmatched the Ignited Risk", a lignite earring. I spent a lot of time trying to get it actually to ignite, just for !!!FUN!!!

That name is perfect. I love when that happens.
