Parasite was by far one of the best games on Warcraft 3.

I made a few maps myself.  I was even making an ORPG.  I got it hyped like crazy, hundreds(Maybe even a thousand or two) hits on the site, and then just quit.

Good stuff.

I think I remember something similar to that. A supposed multi-theme ORPG.

My favorite gametypes were LoaP's, ORPG's, Parasite, and any zombie survival games. I do believe there were adventure maps for specifically one player.

Editplz: I remember once in an awesome ORPG that i loved so much, something by the name of M___ and M(O?)___'s ORPG. It had a huge ocean/lake in the middle, with a town to the north, an undead forest, a waterfall in the northeasterly area, and I don't remember the southern parts. The Western part had ruins and a sort of rampy area.

I also recall having a battle of epic proportions between me and the world. I'll post the story later.

Edit: I just remembered I friggin' hate DotA's.

HMMM! I smell gameplay mechanic!

Requires special ingredients to make.

~Required items to make Cadaver Serum~
I. A dose (5 units) of dead person's blood.
II. A dose of Radium and Mercury.
III. A dose of N20.
(Optional) VI. A dose of Advanced Healing Liquid.

If the optional item is not included, it has a higher chance of turning the person into a zombie.

Cadaver Serum has a delay of 1 minute, and 3 minutes of being KO'd.

EDIT: Also, Zombies need minor nerfs. Slower bitage time, warning as in (Zombi) lunges at (Victim)! (Zombi) bites (Victim)!

Zombies must also have forced walk, so the only way for them to get ahold of people would be either A. Be locked in with them, or B. MASS ZOMBEES!

Dubble EDIT: I'll PM Johbson, Qwerty and CIB the starter sprites. Because CIB seems to be having troubles.

Though, if you want to fish in the Southern part of the lake, do it during the day. The sign says so.

'Death rages across the land,
Chaos reigns supreme,
We do not fear it, nor supply it,
In the quiet before the storm.
'

When Ragnarok comes, I suggest we all book it before the townies start up their rivalries. Either that, or make alt characters that can get the numbers cleared out.

Well, if somebody has extra materials/tools/armor, we should organize who carries what. Of course we are going to haul a ton of steel and iron, but we will also need seeds of every type, enough candles to allow for early mining, various weapons to arm each one of us with that's better than just some leather armor and a stone axe and much more.

I'll take a load of seeds, just to make sure we got 'em.

Good idea. I'll bring beer to sate our thirsts. I just pray that I don't overdo it like that one guy.

Woah woah woah, Before we go into where we should go, first we should decide what resources we need, also, in the new map there will be a navigation system with Fog-of-war full area maps, and more detailed mini-maps. No more Omniscience for us!  :D

Also, I think we should go into groups of two, as mega-beasts may be in the new map. Dragons, Ents, Swamp Monsters...

I think The new city should be close to a body of water and have bountiful forests, with trading roads heading to the closest industrial towns for clay and whatnot.

We might find a mining deposit close to the forest we set up near, so... yeah.

The "cultists" are just your run-of-the-mill throwaway alts, as far as i've understood the situation. We've had this exact same problem dozens of times. Only difference, our valuables are now behind private walls. So we just need to sit out the shitstorm and not feed the trolls. Trust me, they get bored fast enough.
That's the thing, There's been small waves of people coming in every once in a while, messing up the town in minor ways. They could be trying a number of tactics in order to get us to submit when it actually comes.

a) Use throwaway alts to send town into rage spiral
b) Make everyone paranoid and kill others, stunting the growth of the pop.
c) Steal resources so we're undersupplied.
Or
d) Make us think that it's all a wahoozy, and just useless griefers until it's too late.

I'm not telling you to be paranoid, just be prepared, just in case. Bottleneck will live until the end!

...guys, we have a problem. And not just the 'Ragnarok' Grief fanatics.

We may even have a war on our hands before the end of the server.

I found many cultist-esque runestones, (not that many, only a few, still something to be concerned about.) and they have threats of war before Ragnarok, and how it will purge us all. I left a note for the writers of the Bottleneck Bulletin, and they'll hopefully publish an issue so that the town gets notified. I just hope that this doesn't happen soon. Watch your backs, people. We've got a Cult-Army on our hands.  :-X
