We can gas things.

Using booze or zinc, boiling vapour can murder things for us. Zinc is included because it will apparently boil in magma. As such, 3X3 room with open space over magma in the middle and a dumping zone on the level above. Toss a zinc mug into the magma, watch the boiling metal galvanise migrants.

Engraved ice is 'sculpted', not 'detailed'.

It was made of rough-non-blocked marble, and it was only half-done.

Crowbar: Gabbro has no hematite. It's igneous intrusive. Igneous extrusive and sedimentary layers are the ones which have hematite.

With invaders on, orcs (being my example of a mute civ) will come one squad in the first winter. This hasn't changed for me, but others say it's variable. So yeah, it does scale up; I think it's related to fortress value and/or population.

I half-made something resembling one of these, then I got frustrated and ragequit. I can still fish the save outta my recycle bin, though. SOmeone else'll need to visualise it, though. VF don't work for me.

Further clarification: by 'someone' I mean one of the parents. If it's the father, presumably one more baby will be born, but I don't know. Also, I might have implied with my last post that a miscarriage will put an end to all of that dwarf's potential children. AFAIK, this is not the case.
