blech, slow posting- i don't suppose you could edit yours, gamerlord, to better reflect the situation?  :P

242
Alba instantly froze when the guardsman whipped out his shotgun and cocked it right by her head. Had she really been traveling with heretics and madmen all along? Words catching in her throat, she slowly shrank back into her seat, praying silently to the Omnissiah.

243
Wait, I forgot the Sororita was a closet heretic.

Yup, we're all boned.  :P

244
Welp, that sure didn't take long.  :P

Alba had been quietly seated by the door, poring over her data slate for probably the hundredth time this trip, and peering cautiously over the top of it at the rest of the group every time someone spoke, in between her periodic rounds of the ship to ensure everything ran as smoothly as possible- not that she didn't trust the crew or the spirits of the ship, but they were in the Immaterium... and heresy grows from idleness, after all.

That, and the rest of her compatriots quite frankly made her just as nervous as they made the rest of the crew, and she'd rather spend as little time around them as possible. There hadn't been much in the way of introductions or discussion, and with most everyone anxious to disembark (or was that just her?) there probably wouldn't be any time soon- she practically jumped out of her seat when the purser answered the door.

"Ah-- h-have we arrived? I, um... i-if you don't mind, I would like very much to meet the noble machine tasked with bearing us down the the surface, so that we might go through the pre-flight rituals...

...a-and also a drink, please."

I was more referring to people badmouthing the Inquisition right in front of the Sororitas, the perma-PMS Ordo Hereticus zealots famously level-headed and reasonable ladies that they are.  :P

247
Why do I suddenly get the terrible feeling that our merry band of misfits and misanthropes is going to be at each other's throats before we even land?  :P

So Bugs and Wright fail massively in the first and third categories and Bugs wins in the second; Taskmaster and the Dreadnought perform admirably in the first and second and fail completely in the third. Sound about right?

Disclaimer: Educated guesses

Woah, hey, this is still a thing. Bit late to respond to your mail, but since a good chunk ofmy WH40k knowledge is derived directly from DoW1 (and 1d4chan), I'll cede to the greater fluff authority- I pretty much geared it for the best possible chances in the tournament, with two powerfists instead of an asscan so it wouldn't get slaughtered in manual dexterity competitions, and a storm bolter/flamer instead of dual flamers so it could still be shooty if necessary.

Just got the potion, plus a Style Suit and Style Sunglasses.

Also I bugged him to make it because I didn't feel right bumping his pristine thread, but refused to let this die prematurely.  :P

Come on guys; you know you've played weirder games.  8)

T'was Genesis game I played once, an asslong time ago... (or at least I'm 90% sure it was Genesis; I know for sure it was a Sega console)

If I recall correctly, it was a fast-paced isometric shoot-em-up, took place in a desert, the main character was a dude in a white jumpsuit with a blond pompadour and a gigantic manjaw, and it was hella fun.

Is this dead already? I am disappoint.

My take:

Spongebob versus Xenomorph
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Spongebob actually wins here, against all odds; they're 1/1 going into the third round (spongebob being the better entertainer on account of not immediately trying to eat the audience), but the filthy Xeno scum has to forfeit the third round on account of not being able to fly a plane (whereas spongebob is at least theoretically capable, even if he'd crash it and die horribly)

Captain Malcolm Reynolds versus A Dreadnought
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Not going to call this one, but a couple things to consider about the Dreadnought (don't know anything about the Captain):

1: The deterioration you mention takes a lot longer than you think it does: The oldest living Dreadnought (who's also the oldest living Astartes in the Imperium), Bjorn the Fell-Handed of the Space Wolves, is older than ten thousand years, and even though he's been sleeping for longer and longer periods, he can still remember the pre-Horus Heresy days, having fought alongside the Primarch of his chapter, and seen the God-Emperor of Man before he was interred onto the Golden Throne.

...But all that's irrelevant anyway, since this is implied to be a short-term memory contest. Given that Astartes are genetically engineered super-humans (even healthy ones can live for millenia), and assuming the Dread is only a few centuries old, unless Reynolds is known for his exceptional memory, I'd give this part to the Dreadnought.

2: While a mech the size of a monster truck is un-subtle as fuck, I wouldn't rule the Dread out of spying completely: debatably, the sarcophagus' machine spirit could help the dread interface with other technologies (computers, security systems, etc.) for alternative forms of snooping.
