(Same Place)

The corporal could best be described as "sweating bullets". Quickly, he swapped back to the squad's net.

{"Got confirmed supers in the room and they're asking questions. Need you up here ASAP."}

Alpha squad begins to emerge from the elevator shaft, and the sergeant surveys the situation.

{"What questions?"}

After having the conversation relayed, he nods, clears his throat, and raises his voice to the armored figure.

"I'm afraid that information's classified," he said, quickly flashing a card at them.

"But I assure you we've got the situation under control." he finished, taking a detonator from the soldier next to him.

"I suggest you clear out and await further orders."

{"Echo Bravo, on my mark."}

The soldiers begin slowly moving towards the main entrance, keeping their weapons trained.

"Aww, do we always have to do the talky thing?"

This may not be easy with Arthur eavesdropping.  :P

{"Two minutes."}

"Damn, cops are here."

{"Keep yer panties on, corporal, we're on our way up."}

Suddenly, there was a loud crash from above as a huge suit of powered armor (followed shortly by a couple other figures) plowed through the skylight and thudded into the center of the lobby, and high pitched beeping as the cap-guns locked on target, prepared to fire.

"OH FUCK, ROBOTS!"

{"Bravo, sitrep!"}

The corporal swore silently as he peered over the ledge. {"Contacts; heavy armor, a cop, and... civilians? Not sure."}

{"Booster One?"}

{"Negative, unknown; Booster didn't have a giant-ass arm cannon. Didn't come down guns blazing, so we'll try negotiating, but expect a warm welcome."}

{"Copy that, just hold down the fort until we get there."}

As the squad pops out of ambush, weapons trained on the group, the corporal re-routes his radio to a speaker on one of the cap-guns.

{"Okay, we don't know who you are, or what you want, but we were just on our way out. If you don't get in our way, we won't get in your way, and nobody has to get hurt. Live and let live, yeah?"}

Excitement bubbling up at the prospect of fighting, Tsume scrambles up the shaft ahead of the group, dumping her share of the load on the unlucky soldier behind her and quickly popping out of the elevator.

"Humans! Tasty, tasty humans~♪"

Don't make poor Gatleos write up every entry right off the bat.  For now, just look up the pantheon of badassery

562
dammit zako don't log off just as i post  >:(

Also, to anyone fighting this character in the future- feel free to not hold back, she can take anything you can throw at her.  :P

(Repurposed Dockside Warehouse, Sub-Basement, Laboratory Antechamber- roughly four hours prior to current events)

Despite having just mowed down the last remaining guards, the facility's alarms actually died down as Wei Lung sprinted down the corridor, and the door ahead slid open obligingly.

Inside was a small, round, and comparably cozy-looking room, with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves lining the wall, two plush armchairs sitting on one side, and a secretarial desk at the other.

As he walks into the room, the lone figure sitting in front of the opposite doors claps shut a book and sets it off to the side.

"I've been waiting for you."

As it stands, the figure-; a woman who can't be far past her teen years, wearing combat boots, drab grey cargo pants with a pistol tucked at the waist, and an ill-fitting white dress shirt, with unsettlingly deep red eyes, and a wave of brown hair that reaches to an inch above the floor- snaps her fingers, and blast doors clamp down on both sides of the room, cutting in half the wave of blood that had been following Wei.

She looks him up and down as she takes up the nodachi leaning against the bookcase next to her, frowning disapprovingly at the viscous red pool flowing up around him.

"Figures you wouldn't be one of those super-heroes, from the havoc you caused."

She sighs, flicking away her cigarette.

"Another assassin, then. I'm growing really tired of this game."

Shifting into a martial stance, she readies her hand above the hilt of the sword, staring him in the eye.

"If you'll turn back now, I'll let you live."

564
Sheesh, and we haven't even resolved the current incident; bet this city never sleeps, either.  :P

Welp, since Nick's already proven that he's badass enough to single-handedly hold our fat ass and mow down a crowd of ninjas with an SMG while bleeding profusely from his amputated stump (with what I assume to be his off-arm, no less)

Nick: Moonwalk into the Batmobile while nonchalantly mowing down the rest of the ninjas.

Twelve men in black paramilitary armor and three sentry guns* wait anxiously in ambush around the perimeter of the room. The rapid fire capabilities of the turrets had kept the fleshy mat at bay long enough for them to block off the stairway with a makeshift barricade, but nobody knew if it had just grown over the other side or would try spilling through into the lobby.

"The fighting's stopped. Maybe they managed to repel the cultists?"

"Poor stupid bastards never stood a chance."

Crouched behind the low wall of the upper floor's balcony, the squad's corporal taps at his watch impatiently.

"Cut the chatter. Those "stupid bastards" were our diversion, and that means we're next."

{"Sarge, we're anticipating contacts, and by your orders you've got three minutes. Stairs are FUBAR**, but we didn't see anything come up the lifts, so we'll send down ropes."}

{"Copy that, Bravo Team."}

"Time's up, pack it in! Jenkins, we got what we came for?"

"75 percent, sir; this stuff's hard to dig through, and the AI core's probably in another lab for ArmorForce's other experiments. Everything else we're missing is low-priority, easily replacable stuff, so we should have everything essential."

"Glad to hear it. Double-time to the elevators, men; things are about to get hot, and the best mission's one where I don't have to shoot anyone."

"*sigh* You're no fun at all..."

567
Post from the Armorforce base to come in a bit (busy now), going to wait on Zako for the post at the lair.

568
Another thing is that Wei Lung had already dropped down the elevator shaft, so I assume Herr Doktor teleported into the corridor ahead of him?

569
Err, Fniff, your last post confuses me.  :-\

(ArmorForce Corporation, Kaleno City Branch, Research and Development Center- Sub-Basement 6)

After an unpleasant couple of minutes of sprinting down fleshy, gibbering corridors and around formations of ominous green crystals, the squad finally arrived at the blast doors guarding the deepest, most isolated, and most heavily protected laboratory in the complex, where the company conducted the experiments they didn't want anyone else to know about- the MESSIAH Project.

But again, there was no security presence in sight, and the doors were open.

"Split up, groups of three, stay in contact. We've still got a job to do- retrieve any components you can find. If the alien flesh crap gets in your way, entrenching tools; explosives only if absolutely necessary. It's probably done in their servers already, but torch them just to be safe.

Jenkins, you've got the list. Get moving, you've got five minutes to tear this place apart before we pull out."

We're lucky if anything's left here, of course...

{"Portal in here, Sarge."}

{"Stay the hell clear of it, we don't want any trouble from the other side."}

(Repurposed Riverside Warehouse, Sub-Basement- roughly four hours earlier)

Hearing nothing through the radio but screams, crashing, and gurgling was a fairly good indication that things on the surface weren't going terribly well. Then, the earth shook, and shortly after the sound of rending metal echoed down the elevator shaft.

Whatever was coming, it had to be strong, and tough- or dumb- enough to try taking the quick way down. And now all that stood between the two was a half dozen guards with shotguns, a couple flamethrowers, and one of the Beast Master's pet apes.

How annoying.

I might not get to finish this chapter.
