Other Games / Re: How did you last die?

Remember: Never, really never kill the baby yetis. Or they will kill you. To death. (Flotilla)

Nah, throw them out the airlock. I managed to kill 6 Destroyers and 3 Dreadnoughts with my 3 destroyers, without losses too. Then proceeded to get all my ships blown in 4 turns by a single beam frigate or whatever they are called  :(

My lastest death however was from assassination. As king of Jerusalem, I was feeling threatened by the Turks that held everything in the Middle East, from Kuweit to Byzance/Constantinople and everything south and east of the russian kingdom. I attempted to assassinate their leader; a leader whose name inspired fear but also admiration comparable to Hannibal's, Saladin's or Genkis Khan's names. My first attempt failed, and their counter attack succeeded.

My son took my revenge a few years later and caused the almost complete destruction of the Turks :D

Crusader Kings btw

When did you get your first Pokemon game?

I can't remember the exact year, but I got my first, and only, pokemon game in 1999/2000 or something like that. I was around 17-18 years old  :o

I got into it because I bought gameboys for my little brother and sisters (around 7 and 10 years old respectively) and a different game for each: red for my brother*, blue for sister* and yellow for myself.

I never got into the other generations.

This kinda makes me feel old... yet childish. I dont care about the former and fully assume the latter :P

* I gave my brother the red version and my sister the blue as a way to say "Fuck the world and its stereotypes!" Aww, I miss those days where I considered a single seemingly meaningless action important.

Nice map! It's good to know there's a few other alliance members nearby.

I'm planning to start my third colony tomorrow or saturday. I'll probably head west, or whatever 'left' is in space  ???, depending on what my probes find over there. I'm hoping to find a nice orbit 3 planet. Every one I found so far are either inhabited or rather uninteresting (or both).

You're pretty much set for using fission plants and burning hydrocarbons for power!

Yeah, I am not complaining, I have easy access to some of the most useful ore types. Also, the planet right next to mine got some other useful ore types (sulfur, gypsum, etc.). I already have everything needed to colonize it, but I want to finish exploring the few nearby star systems before moving out of isolation.

I started playing yesterday, but I wanted to make sure I actually planned to stay before joining an alliance. Please add Asyrius to the list for B12 alliance.

My homeworld isn't too bad, except for a limitation in ore variety

I'll probably start playing again once the server is restarted, but still not sure about joining another empire.

One of the things that annoyed me the most last time was handling permissions, titles, ranks, positions, whatever-they-are-called-in-SoH. I don't really want to lose control over a city/system I've built up because I start a colony somewhere else.

I've been looking around Windseekers/Farra islands, but I just can't decide on a good location for relocalisation. Windseekers has too much mountain and too little forest for my treehugging ways and Farra, from what I've read, is where we can expect troubles in the near futur. I would appreciate some suggestions.

Back ingame. I'll stick with my 1300ish population; I already find it hard enough to get back into something after months of inactivity, I would rather stick to my own mess.

I'll give myself a few days before moving my cities and asking to rejoin StA, to make sure my interest does not wear off too quickly :P  Since I am busy with school, the slow/relaxed pace (as proven by my still standing cities) should be an advantage now, unlike during the summer when I was getting kinda bored.

Request: A good, space colonization strategy game. Preferably with multiple planets/system that are randomly generated.
Examples: Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, Light of Altair, Aurora

The only game I can think that hasn't been mentionned yet is Emperor of the Fading Suns. IIRC, planets are not randomly generated only randomly distributed, but each planet has it's own map... they aren't just spreadsheets.

I was curious about the changes since I last played, so I tried logging into my account. Surprisingly enough, everything is intact just like I left the cities months ago. If it was not for the filled storage and insane amount of gold, mana and research, it could look like I never stopped playing. In fact, I am considering coming back.

Donations?  ??? Nope, nothing set up.

I haven't really got into company's organization or planification yet. I still have no clue how charters houses works either. So basically, at this point the company is little more than a convenient way to communicate between each others. The situation will improve as I learn more about the mechanic of things and depending on the needs.

5 day?  :o  What kind of ship are you using?

Oh and yes, you need to travel to Marseille to join. Which is one of the reason I wanted to create the company in Lisbon :(

433
The company has been created in Marseille, as previously stated, under the name TheTwelfthBay, unlike what was previously mentionned (stupid, absurd and useless limitations!!!  >:( )

I will be online for a few more hours to accept requests and start refilling my bank account.

Changing jobs always require a permit, even if you are switching back to a previous job. You can obtain them by completing specific quests. I found a very nice list earlier (here), which gives the name, location and requirements to get those quests. I suggest you try to obtain a permit to switch back to trader before starting maritime or adventure.

On a somewhat related note, I just finished the historian quest and will probably switch to trader soon to work on sewing. I'll switch back to adventurer at a later time.

I am currently heading to Marseille, where I will create the company. Northern Europe will be the main priority to establish a charter house. I have no idea what are the requirements for these, but hopefully the company should be able to reach British and Dutch players soon.

Btw whats your ingame name Alex?

Check your friends list :P

What type of ship are you using right now? I am using a small carrack, which is probably faster than what you've got and I spent a bit of ducats on getting better studding sail (currently 216/53/0 speed).
