Wood elves didn't come so we'll probably get ambushes and sieges soon enough. High elves seem fine with us killing and stealing everything from the first caravan. We could use an ally as imperials and dwarves have ignored us so far and another hostle civ appeared on the "c" screen.

Thanks FritzPL ;)

- Some pics use Dullard_Exponent_12x12.png and some (only or mainly maps) curses_800x600.png.
- Custom workshop giving you wood as waiting for the trees to regrow isn't interesting at all.
- It's a modded game so I don't know if the embark will be the same.
- Again - a mod. Details in the first post (Warhammer Fortress)

@UltraValican
It's not that bad. One smashed toe which everyone seems to ignore, sutured shoulder and now-healed broken hand.

35
@Pokon, will do!
@Hugo, just in case Bretonnians have also set of unique armour, not really used yet so I would have to edit a reaction but they sure are obtainable:
-antlers of the great hunt
-cuirass of fortune
-armour of midsummer sun
-heraldic mail shirt

36
@Hugo, the mood sword is a two-handed sword, will see if the second one will be possible
@Ahra

We kill all kinds of elves, steal their gear and make artifacts out of their bones. That's the way we roll, bro. As for the gear, it's nothing special really, reinforced leather habit, steel cap, iron gauntlets and high boots, an iron goupillon (a huge mace-like thing used to sprinkle holy water) and an iron grail shield. You are friends with half of the castle and have no interesting scars to show off.

bit offtopic: I absolutely love the semimegabeasts as I have no idea what to expect from them.

I, for one, welcome our new random metal overlords and think plants and animals should be random too. Even if they will be vanilla plants and animals with different descriptions and names I would LOVE to explore everything and learn about the world.

Summer, during which nobles kill more elves than they have fingers and a nigh-unstoppable beast is stopped

Noone was sure what exactly happened. Could it be that the elves saw Wyrmsgold and went berserk? Was it a random peasant wanting to protect tBretonnia from evil mage elves? Anyway, the elves are now dead and their steel equipment is ours.

"We were the ones attacked and had the very right to defend ourselves!" proclaimed Pokonic.
"And it's not like we could trust those creatures anyway" said Kharne, notable for protecting the tavern from being entered by lowborn elves.
"Order the people to bring all the corpses under a roof." Jamcat sighed "Anyone caught stealing from them is to be executed on spot."

No one was sure what exactly happened. One thing was sure though. Elves won't like the fact we've killed both the caravans.

The sound of broken branches and fallen trees woke up the nobles early enough to set up the temporary defences againt the chaos beast. With ten archers armed with iron and the flower of bretonnian knighthood there was no chance they couldn't drive the beast away. Or so they though.
"Where the hell is Deathsword?" shouted Jamcat as everyone was slowly circling in the distance around the juggernaut.
"The leg injury m'lord!" shouted one of the deathsword's knight.
"That's a dam.." started the minor noble but was stopped by juggernaut's sudden charge. He flew a few metres backwards and hit the tree.
"FIRE!" shouted Lloyd charging the beast as Ahra the battle pilgrim run to help Jamcat.

They needed to buy more time for the archers to reorganize. Pokonic knew what he had to do.
"Here I am you fat metal cow!" he shouted and the beast left bleeding Kharne and charged him mindlessly. This act of bravery and chivalry costed him a hand but in th end the amount of arrows stuck in the beast slowed it and, finally, killed. PRAISE THE LADY!

A few days later crippled Khare went to the nearby hill where the beast's body was wondering if that was a test for him to become a champion. If it was, did he pass? And what if.. an arrow flew right next to his head.
"An ambush! Curse them!" he shouted.

He and Pokonic were the only ones who were nearby and so two crippled Bretonnians defended the settlement against slender enemies dressed in black. They didn't even kill the last one when suddenly

With half of the knights injured or crippled, autumn and winter could be their last.

Marksdwarves and 5-10 traps are enough in most cases.

@ahra, to be fair everything but the castle itself is unwalled and the southern enclaves are ironically the safest places in the settlement because almost all nobles who act like a military live there.
@hugo, wyrm and deathsword, everything noted

Spring, during which Bretonnians meet the elves

Jamcat and Lloyd were watching the settlement from the roof of the castle waiting for the group of nobles that were sent here by the duke, still fighting with the illness.

"Hey, Jamcat! Over there?"
"Where? I can't see anythi.."
"In the SKIES."

A huge eagle was coming their way. Jamcat prepared his weapon but was stopped by Lloyd. It was lady Cecaeyici. Even though she was a woman she had respect many male nobles would only dream of. The eagle landed on the roof shaking the building.

"Greeting Jamcat and Lloyd son of Hugo." She said. "My companions will arrive soon. I hope my room is ready?"
"Welcome o'noble lady" Lloyd helped her get off the eagle "I will show you the castle and your room."

Peasant have gathered on the market square confused by the sight of a great eagle. It was once again Pokonic's duty to calm them. Luckily for him he didn't have to as a group of migrants joined them. Two ladies went straight to the castle to rest. Two knights went to the tavern where Deathsword was waiting and the migrants got their houses and jobs. With 40 members of the settlement it was time to build another tavern. The migrant Grathius Ekatujengu, former trapper, offered himself to run it as he came from a merchant family.

---

Kharne was the first one to see the wood elves incoming. He kept it low as he didn't want to alert both the elves and the nobles, waiting for the outcome. It was the Ahra and Wyrmsgold who greeted them. Instead of the arrows and blades the elves had supplies and clothes. They were in a hurry but insisted to trade with Bretonnians and demanded their leader to speak with them. Not a single peasant left their house with those strange creatures on the market square. Elves themselves didn't show any strong emotions buying weapons and armours from us. Jamcat got from them a pegasus, flying horse, a truffle hound and food.

The elven leader warned the minor noble of skavens, rat-like humanoids that were coming to invade this settlement and said it was time for Bretonnians to prepare the dolorous items.

Dolorous was the mythical green metal stronger than steel. Jamcat's seen it only once when a grail knight visiting his father's castle showed him the dolorous blade he got from Green Knight.

As the elven leader was speaking another caravan came nearby.
"Elves again, my lord?" asked Sirus "What is the meaning of this?"
"The proud high elves of Tuthu Iwethe." said Pokonic looking at the banner "it's a bad sign."

High elves had the same warning. Bretonnians had three months to prepare as the enemies would attack them in Autumn.

The question is: how are the Bretonnians going to response?
a) trust the elves and start preparing for fight neglecting the other important projects like the castle
b) trust the elves but don't prepare as we are ready for everything with our superior armours and weapons
c) don't trust the elves
d) don't trust the elves and kill them as the other races, magic and forces of chaos don't belong in our glorious settlement
==============================
Also, Deathsword does love kicking armless kobolds in his free time and "gets used to tragedy".

GreatWyrm: mousillian peasants are now a bit bugged (everyone is vomiting blood and having their feet rot) so every sick migrant is killed at the spot. A normal peasant is still a-ok so don't you worry.
Ahra: everyone but peasants are melee and we have no real army but the nobles that stop partying if there's an enemy to kill.

Winter, during which the chaos start sprawling around

A new group of migrants came to Greatcastle. While Jamcat and Lloyd were inspecting the castle with Sirus one strange man approached them. It was the fattest peasant Jamcat's seen with face covered in scars from a serious green pox he must've had in the past.
"Greeting o'noble lords!" he had a squeaky voice "I'm the new cook sent by the duke"
"The duke? Is he going to visit us any soon?" asked Lloyd
"I'm afraid not" replied the cook "as he is very ill from a mysterious disease that got half of the castle."
"Oh... Sirus, show this man his room downstairs and check the other migrants if they are ill. We can't suffer another plague here"

A few days later two accidents happened. Khare the wood burner has fallen while deconstructing a part of the roof of the castle and broken both legs and an arm. Backen, our doctor has said he can fix him with no trouble. What a chivalrous act of his! (Kharne has gained another chaos cultist for his cause)

Ahra the pilgrim appeared to be just as brave going alone into the mines and killing a giant bat which has trapped three workers. No major injuries but a bruised leg.

Lloyd was walking around the rich part of the settlement when suddenly a voice from one of the houses called him. It was Pokonic the Amusing. He was busy working with gems in his new asset - a jeweler's workshop. He insisted that they needed to cover the business part of the castle  and without jeweler there wouldn't be any gem windows in the castle.

During the late winter one strange creature got from the chasm and attacked the peasants. It was killed by the injured Khare and for this act of courage he was granted a bigger house with the cellar.

"Deathsword the young knight" observed Jamcat "spends a little bit too much time being chivalrous and helping Yugo the female cook."
"and I wonder" minor noble asked himself "where the heck is that royal cook? I haven't seen him today"

Wyrmsgold was sitting on a mossy stone in the forest nearby, writing three letters and then tying them to the plagued and bloated rat's legs which then run away each in another direction. The fat man stood up and thought it was going to be an interesting year.
