DF Suggestions / Set Fort Pop Cap during play.

Currently we have to edit the init file to set our population cap. I suggest there be an option to set it during play so I can spend less time playing with options outside of the game to suit my fancy in the game.

Toady, Buddy. We're missing a pretty important animal man species.

Mussel men.

Man-sized mussel shell containing the body of a... mussel man. With legs sticking out of the bottom of its shell.

When you're drowning in donations from finally implementing this overlooked creature feature, I won't need any recognition. Making the game the best it possibly can be is enough for me.

With only 24,000 living historical figures... isn't it a little bit odd the game thinks there's 605,000 civilized people? Am I missing something or is this a bug?

Large World, medium settings for everything. 250 years in world gen.

Two years ago today on Sunday, March 15, 2009, a free-tailed bat with a broken wing clung to the Space Shuttle Discovery's external fuel tank before liftoff. Unbeknownst to him, he was about to be granted one last chance at flight. And fly he did... with over 37-million horsepower behind him.

A tribute to spacebat.

"Whether he was consumed in the exhaust flames or frozen solid in the stratosphere is of no concern. We know that Spacebat died, but his dream will live on in all of us."

He's gone, but will never be forgotten.

I edited the Grass page from this to this.

I was thinking about adding a table to list the grasses, much like the table on the Tree Page... but I'm no good with making tables on Wikis.

Pretty sure this is the full list of grasses:

DF Gameplay Questions / Blinking Ramps

For some reason, upwards slope/ramps are blinking. All of them. There are no items on the ramps to make it do so.

Is there any way to turn off the blink?

DF Suggestions / Find Desired Location (Search by Sand and other things)

Just a few changes to the "Find Desired Location" option when getting ready to Embark.

Count how many matching locations the game found to what conditions you specified you want them. Not only that, but also to be able to cycle through them and see the basic information of the area. What kind of layers, temperature, tree/vegetation levels, general biome information.

Also, I'd like a few more options to search by:

Sand (Y/N)
Salt Water (Y/N)

Perhaps salt water isn't necessary. But I know I'd like to make sure I have sand and can find a location with it easily. I'm sure there are a few more things people may like to search by.


One last thing. Temperature and Savagery. Rather than the options for it saying Low or High, how about the options can just be what they are. Let's say I want places marked as Cold on the biome information. Or I want a location with Freezing, Hot, Warm, or Temperate. It would try to pair me up with locations that are mostly that temperature. Similarly with Savagery (Beneign, Neutral, Savage) and Alignment (Good, Neutral, Evil)
