Dear Dorfs of Gemtower;
Run into the fortress when I give the order!

287
As you shake your arms, the chains part, allowing you to stand. A few broken links dangle from the manacles around your wrists and ankles. Trying to twist them free, you catch glimpses of thick scar tissue underneath. Whatever the cuffs are made from, they're sterner stuff than the chains.
Walking over to the door, your legs cramp unpleasantly, but hold. The door and the frame around it are caked with rust and dull grime, but the bars of the window look sturdy. Peering through them, you can barely see another door like this one across an unlit corridor. Taking another inventory of the room you're in, you note that the light source is a globe hanging from a cable attached to a hook in the middle of the ceiling, hanging directly above a corroded grate in the floor.

The effort of struggling to remember why you're here only worsens your headache, and you quickly desist.
Looking around you, you see that the room you are in is a four ell cube, with walls and floor comprised of dull metallic plates. The light comes from a fist-sized sphere hanging from the ceiling on a cable. There is a door on the right wall, with a barred window at about eye level, if you were standing.
Attempting to move, you first note that you are kneeling, your arms behind you with your wrists shackled to your ankles and the wall behind you. The chains creak stiffly as you test them, and you feel a few flakes of rust fall into your hands. A more vigorous motion sends pain shooting up your arms, but rewards you with a dull crack as the chains give way!

((Sorry about the delay, my router crapped the bed and I was without internet.))

You seem to recall that you have studied Alchemy, and were well known for your cleverness.

It's important to know yourself.

What is it you do?

You find yourself in a room. The air vibrates with a steady thumping that shakes the dust motes floating in the flickering, greyish light.
The tang of old metal and salt fills your nostrils. The floor is chilly, and gritty with flakes of rust. Broken rainbows glimmer in a pool of oil to your right.
Metal scrapes dully behind you. Thick chains are manacled around your wrists, and bolted to the wall.

You may want to check your Status, or Investigate further.

For a while there, this was updating every five minutes, it seemed. I'm paranoid, as every forum game I've joined has died soon after.

*prod* Has this game, too, fallen to my curse?

Lupins. The flower. You can eat them, mill them for "multicolored" dye, process them into thread, and brew them into Lupin Liquor. I may have been on something of a Monty Python's Flying Circus kick.

Thanks to my pathological hatred of social networking, I'm proud to proclaim that exactly four people, in the vastness of the Internet, know who I am.

Have the people who were picking berries make some baskets
Strip some leaves to see if they can be made into twine.

Harvest all the Sunplums and domesticate the Cellerhans. Perhaps we can train them as watch animals, like the Egyptians did with cats. Have Franz weave some of the surplus sticks into funnel traps for fishing.

What's more important, your girl, or this game? Don't be silly.

Brick houses are labor intensive and resist environmental extremes poorly, as sharp angles and sheer surfaces cope poorly with wind, rain, and snow. Mud structures insulate better, are easier to construct, and if needed, can be built to blend with the scenery better. Your only objection to them is that they're "Primitive". By whose standards?
