My guess would be that it screws up pathfinding.
There are a lot of times when I've wanted {v}iew and loo{k} to work without pausing...

Back before there was more medical knowledge, they would have to guide their defenders to the line because they couldn't see a damn thing, because they had such a bad concussion. Then they would keep playing.
I'm not an  American football fan or a patriot, but any given game of professional American football has hits much more gruesome hits than any of those in that video.
