So I had a child wrestle with a forgotten beast until he reached legendary fighter/wrestler, and then get his arm hacked off.

The forgotten beast is now wearing his leather glove, and eternally fighting with a dog.

It became attached to the glove, which is how I first discovered he was using it.

Then he named it, again, and again, and again -.-

Nono.  Not like that.  The blowing into the coffee can didn't blow the lid off, the burning powder did.

But I will admit that the creamer was cool.

We do that on the 4th of July, it smells life coffee afterward!

How about modding in a tortoise that is a small (but not vermin) sized domesticated animal?  Throw in the PET, COMMON_DOMESTIC, and NATURAL tags and you should be able to embark with stray ones ready to be butchered.

Hm... slow but ridiculously high defense (plus nasty bites).
Perfect for setting up for target practice (namely, get goblins to try to dogpile your tortoise while crossbow-dwarves slowly pick them off).

War snapping turtles.

Lol.

Also it's not recursive unless they die upon generation.

Do your dwarfs have training weapons? Training weapons are glitched, your dwarfs never drop them and will usually use them over normal weapons, the fact that they do almost no damage makes this really bad.

First of all this is damn amazing

Secondly it inspired me to do my own project and I followed your advice and it worked quite nicely (except for spontaneous tree growth causing cave-ins) until I hit magma.

Much appreciated.

Certainly in top 5 forts ever.
