What am I looking for in anime/manga? Two words - political intrigue. But it doesn't really need to be political, it could have focus on war/spying/magic/something else with a dash of intrigue and scheming.
For example - I have already watched Legend of the Galactic Heroes or Gundam Wing. It could be something akin those, space opera type of show. But I'm not averse to shows like Fate/Zero/Juuni Kokki (12 Kingdoms)/Mayou Maou Yuusha that have a fair bit of magic in it (and fair bit of scheming/intrigue). Maybe the gist of it is that I want to see intelligent planning/scheming or intelligent execution of plans from characters and I'm willing to stretch my suspension of disbelief to some length. So do you know about some shows or manga that fit (my very loose) criteria? Age doesn't matter, format doesn't matter (I would read even LN), the only thing needed is if you yourself find it "a good enough work" to be recommended to another person.

If you like Wartime stuff then how about Kingdom, based in Ancient China and is about the Qin Dynasty (long before RoTK time)...

Or how about Liar Game, its about a young woman who becomes caught up in a game. Along with the postcard there are 100 million yen in notes. That's the beginning of the Liar Game. When the game ends, in 30 days, you will have to return your 100 million. If your opponent steals them, he can keep them as a prize, and you will have a debt of 100 million... This is all about tricking and fooling the other players in this game of lies...

Of course you can go the opposite and go a Sherlock styled Manga with the good old Detective Conan, this manga doesn't really need an explanation about it other then your in for a LONG Haul for reading it...

Assassin's Creed Unity - Rift Runs...
So a Rift Run is basiclly a timed collectathon, you need to run around collecting data until you have enough to locate a target that appears, reach them then finally get a nice score and get to the exit before time runs out. Its my second one, suddenly surprised that I wasn't alone and was rushing around chasing the second ghost player thinking it was the target, after realizing my mistake I rushed over to the target then started heading to the exit. In typical AC parkour problems of getting a little stuck in going down the timer starts to tick down to the 10sec count down. I start scrambling to the exit...
I make it out in an epic feeling "Your running out of time, 3, 2, 1!!!" Escaping on the 1....

So... Time for a suggestion for a Manga...
EDIT:: Ooo There is another story as well...

Warning - Gore and Death galore, this manga is a "Death Game" manga...

These are the same world/moment in time stories but they follow different characters. I am currently reading fujimura one but it looks like the overlap later...

All of a sudden across the whole world every school child finds themselves trapped within their classroomm after their teacher's head explodes, they find themselves forced to play children's games, such as Daruma ga Koronda (a game like Red Light/Green Light), with deadly stakes. With no idea who is behind this mysterious deadly game session, and no way of knowing when it will finally end...
This manga is more then it ever seems and loves to pull the wool over your eyes, the rug out from beneath you and even shake the very foundations of anything you are led to previously believe. In a time where your life is but a simple game away from continuing or ending within a moments notice...

Note: Manga Fox is missing a few chapters but other sites doe have them...
As a non believer in stories of Death Games such as theses or even the type where survival isn't even at the hands of other people, I still found this Manga to be frighteningly engaging...

Thats what I mean, my graphic's card is 10000x better then what it was in the past yet it still can't handle it. That and my processor and such as well. But maybe I will turn them off next time...

Also to note, things that are great about this, while permadeath is there as per usual, your actions such as crafting and attacking and such will upgrade your proficiency and after death these do not reset at all...

Just wondering, was there ever a mod which improved/adjusted the hitdetection/collision? I mean, I hate getting into a battle where there is like 3 guys around me who EACH can hit me without connecting with each other but the moment I have 1 ally next to me I cancel out of my attack in fear of touching him. Also a kind of adjustment that makes it that a BIG swing doesn't stop with just one guy, I mean I swear I got taken out by someone that just killed the guy nearby with one swing once...

For Manga. I scroll through the new update lists of the sites and loom at the names. Names can effect my choice. Then I look at the art style. This can and will be the deal breaker.
