Good news, I figured out the MM6 portion of the issue in the ini file, or at least a part of it.

I still can't get mouselook, but the smooth scroll works. Thank you man. I haven't modded anything is so long the obvious escaped me for a moment.

And the follow up:

I actually learned what a typematic rate was, thank you.

That was not the issue though. I set it to "long" and slow" and all sorts of other things. Overall, I am still having the same issues with MM6.

I press the arrow key once (left or right) and I turn 45 degrees.

I do very much appreciate the idea though. Any others would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Truean

P.S. What if it were something unique to MM6's settings? Is there an Init file there? (1998 I know but asking).

Steam (It came free with MMX)

No mods, although I might install the fix (I believe graymane's )

I will have to check tonight.

Will F/U tonight. Thank you. :)

Yeah, very possible.

Also mildly frustrating, because it's a new rig and I invested a lot in it, specifically to last and as a gaming PC.
Alienware R7 Aurora. 32 GB ram... It was basically the one thing I bought for me. (old one died after 8+ years. I get life out of them).

I do occasionally get "no signal" on the monitor, but it goes away after a couple minutes. Still video card issues are not a thing with MM6.

Purchased on steam ... with MMX possibly game setting itself.

May I ask how I could determine that and undo it if so?

Oddly, the mouse isn't used for navigation as much. (Game was made 1998).

It's the arrow keys on the keyboard....

Just hoping that might potentially matter. Will check settings. Thank you.

Windows 10.

No gamepads, joysticks, or drawing tablets.

Oddly, MM6 is supposed to be fluid, moving slightly when pressing the arrow keys, especially the right and left to turn. One tab shoots it a 45 degree angle.

Slightest hairtrigger touch and there it goes off at least 45 degrees. Difficult to compensate for mentally.

Problem: While playing games, "turning" a character in first person is too fast and choppy. Particularly when playing Might and Magic 6 the Mandate of Heaven.

Example: It doesn't matter if I'm playing Skyrim or MM 6 (a 20 year old computer game). I see "let's plays" on youtube with smooth turns. Not mine. It defaults to 45 degree angles.

The game is old, my system is new and good. I don't understand why others have smooth camera turns and I do not. Ideas, please?

Hi scrivs. Good to see you too. The mild comedy just proves the point, and is somewhat helpful. It's all good.

Yes cas, it does, in so many ways. Big brother's job has been made so much easier by the selfie, the status update,  the stupid, and all of the above. They've mass produced surveying you all, digging for anything they can invent and you paid for it while clamoring for more. You demanded to pay to include a picture of yourself in the paper trail they'll use to bury you while mocking those warning of the danger....

Those magnificent bastards. You pay for the bread and circuses that spy on you too.

O crap....

Confirmed. However, without fraud, and with foresight.

I still get the shocked questions though.

Humans beings are stupid comfort seeking things. They are comfortable and stupid with social media. Thank you for considerately condemning yourself on film, it makes things so much easier.... well, not for you......

I am routinely insulted for teaching people not to post like that...... I honestly tried to be nice.... fell on covered ears and seen by eyes wide shut....

Sometimes I try to be, rarer still I manage helping, by sheer accident.

I don't know. For all failings, I have tried my best to control my imperfect mind when possible.
Hopefully, this helps someone somehow. Honestly, it's all we really have. Everything else comes from it.
I've felt imprisoned in my own mind before. Many have. Stress happens. Hopefully luck saves....
You do what you can where you are, with what you have. Physical, mental, etc., it's all tools.

Also she grew up in the middle of nowhere and understands why being quiet about it helps. :)

Agreed. CP is infinitely more qualified than I. Target is 120/80 still (Systolic/Diastolic)?

Yeah, basically, seriously consider what your doctor recommends. I'm sure CP could tell you in great detail the reasons why high BP is scary. Please take care of yourself:
Eating healthier (I know, harder to do than say).
Less alcohol (I had to work on this, but it's possible if that helps).
Stress relief (May help with the alcohol, or rather it did for me, but to be fair, this was because my pain meds are not to be taken with booze, so.... Something had to give.).

Thank you; I mean this. Kindness: the only true currency.

Read the last few years of this thread if you like. Guide, method, coping, theory, and application, among others....  It is tolerance of the intolerable, and seeping solace from stupidity. I took something they never had, though I grant you, that's worse. It contains what we all do, where we all are & aren't, and for that I apologize.

You are. You did. I'm not. You owe me nothing. Our system is flawed; its beneficiaries enjoy that. Those they don't scare, they scar, like me. You had no voice and borrowed mine enough to leave stigmata. A better system is needed. Evidence of your boss' actions dictated her downfall. Lack of it and failure to protect witnesses delayed it.

Continue managing, avoiding vices, and knowing the hole you're trying to fill with food or Mal-adaptive behavior. Flawed tools, but better than many others or none at all and sufficient for now, but not forever. One day, replace flawed tools with better ones. Continue avoiding the common vices. Begin creating virtues. Hand over hand eventually works.

Stay low, gradually improve your situation.

You knew I was aware of that option when you typed those words, and you may have possibly predicted my likely responses to your statement.

I could tell you I have repeated this conversation to boredom, taught classes, and fought cases on it with clients who thought they knew what they didn't, etc.
Their faces were shocked, mine was resigned, tired, bored, etc.  Others fail to be persuaded, and wish to think what they think. Their failure is regrettable.
I can't think of them. I think of certain requirements I spent years learning that inform my actions: method behind madness.

By all means, please tell OP that I should just have remained quiet rather than point them and similarly situated people in the right direction via proper referral.
Someone getting screwed over by a money order and the complex system they don't understand? All lawyers are bastards, especially the one doing the right thing, right?
Do continue in suggesting I either remain quiet and offer no aid or continue with undue risk to myself without necessary disclaimers.
Please do go on and explain my error in unselfishly attempting to help someone who got screwed for no gain to me. That was, after all, the thread's purpose.

Respond to kindness with mockery. Better yet, make sure I get more death threats like I did in 2015 or was it 2014 when I didn't post for a year, which began my "paranoia." Just for helping.
If you ever wonder why no one helps anyone.... Make sure other professionals like, IT, mechanics, HR, anyone really get worried about things being traced back to them and don't post.
Make sure no one helps anyone. Someone helping someone else in need for free? That just has to stop, or assume the risk and possible punishment for helping / referring?

Haven't said anything at all here in months, for exactly that reason. Pardon me for aiding someone; perhaps I shouldn't in the future.
Very telling how the first time I say anything, to aid someone else in getting the help they need, Its suggested I not post....

You know, you could just leave it alone, and be happy someone somewhere helped someone? I'm trying not to be a total misanthrope, despite seeing a messed up world. Improve it?
