Would an open source voting system make it easier to rig the elections? After all, open source systems often contain just as many bugs and weak points as closed source systems, but now anyone can find them...

The reason I think voting systems should be open source is precisely that everyone can find the bugs and errors, present proof of them and request them to be corrected. I don't really see any downsides.

At least everything in Dwarf Fortress Wiki should be rather free to use per this licence page. If that page is official, that is.

At least they won't... or would they...?

Writhing against the thin but strong layer restraining him, Urist started to feel a burning sensation. The creature was secreting something on him.

Urist was being digested.

Huh. Learn something new every day.

I guess I'll go for a Ghoul necromancer now that fighting isn't that hard to train from scratch.

Really? I thought even troll claws were worse than real weapons...

I didn't say anti-copyright. I said open source.

I know that. But aren't claws still worse than actual weapons in the long run?

Heh, I tend to ignore those because vampires and mummies (both of which I play a lot) have them as well...

But isn't the unarmed combat still fairly weak, making those aptitudes not really such a big boon?

Signal corps always make the best plans :)

Of course, having a pit under the bridges is a nice bonus... my personal favorite is the model "if you fall and survive, do it all again!" which basically means that goblins dropping from bridges and survive have a way out of the pit - usually a tunnel that connects to my trap corridor.

Hmm, do I look like any celebrities anybody knows? I don't see myself in anybody...

You do resemble one my friends a lot.

Also, I don't think it's completely far-fetched to say you resemble

More voting fraud revealed.

That's why they should use open source voting systems only...

Ghoul would be fun to play but they seem to suck :/ or is there something redeeming about them I'm not noticing?

Because of that, I say that a christian god would more logically be lawful/neutral good than the chaotic evil they almost always are.

How come chaotic? I think even the crusaders are lawful - they have a strong moral code and hierarchy.
