Here is the MoM multiplayer page. It also has a small but active community on the forums.

http://www.roughseas.ca/momime/phpBB3/index.php

Also, look what I found on the forums. It's Masters of Magic Unofficial Patch 2.0!

http://www.roughseas.ca/momime/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=310

I've played MoM with this patch and mentioned it earlier in this thread. I recommend it. There is a .pdf in the zip file that has a list of changes and stuff.

I usually go at least 2 blue books, because Sorcerer books have a low level spell that costs 20+? mana, and make the enemy's spells fizzle.
Oh Christ I hate that spell. It makes playing against any opponent with ANY amount of blue magic such a pain, since they WILL use it in EVERY SINGLE BATTLE.

and you can easily conquer the dwarves for a huge gold bonus or the trolls for melee troops.
I usually find that Myrror contains only one or maybe two races and all the cities belong to that race. The two is if that race isn't the one I picked. For that matter, Arcanus generally only has two or three a lot of the time.

There are usually a few races in my games that only have one or two neutral villages but they usually are all represented. For example in my last game as the Dark Elves the draconians had an island to themselves in a Troll and Dwarf infested Myrror and the halflings only had one town in the other Main Plane that I promptly enslaved to feed my army and garrisoned with halfling zombie guards as my first priority after casting awareness .

So, after witnessing ages of praise tossed at this game, I finally decided to snag it from Abandonia and give it a whirl.

After a short period where I configured certain configurations, I was able to witness the fantastically epic intro cinematic, with its hilariously stiff CGI and old school fantasy game soundtrack with that warbly, synthetic sound we all recognize.

It was so drippingly badass, I almost forgot to breathe.  I knew then that great things were in store for me...

Unfortunately, while I was rummaging through the menus and trying to acquaint myself with the system, it crashed my machine.  Full reboot, no warning.  Damn.

I really, really hope this isn't a sign of things to come...  It's been ages since I had a good old-fashioned classic to play with.

Are you using dos-box? I find that the game is much more reliable when played through that. It follows a command system and emulates dos for older games, there are instructions on how to use it on their website. It's not too hard to use either, you just have to read the directions.

Also, I think I remember someone modding MoM to be availible to play multiplayer online. I'll do a search and see whats up with that.

Hah, one of my favorite games ever was Sierra's Lords of Magic. I hope this is related to both MoM and LoM at the same time, that would be beyond sweet.

EDIT: It's actually called Elemental: War of Magic

I found a level 19 119 damage 3 round combat rifle on my soldier at about level 15. It was ranked as green and was the best rifle I found until about level 35 when I found the fully automatic 12 round scoped Destructor unique (orange) rifle. Other then that I found a Glorious Revolution, I think it has a 230 round capacity (with overload). I haven't played the game in a while since me and a friend were playing a Soldier and a Hunter on the Xbox version.

Also, anyone found a Double Anarchy submachine gun and used it for a while? It shoots 4 rounds at a time like a shotgun (which shoots usually 9-15 or so bullets slowly) but at submachine gun speeds

I used it over a shotgun as a soldier class, which has skills which increase shotguns' efficiency.

I usually go at least 2 blue books, because Sorcerer books have a low level spell that costs 20+? mana, and make the enemy's spells fizzle. I also like Death magic and Life Magic, although Life magic is a little strong. I also take channeller or whatever ability that makes it so spells always cost 1x mana no matter the range from your tower. Also, I think I've always played as a Myrran so I can be a Dark Elf. Even their spearmen are freakin awesome due to having a magic attack. Nightmares are just sick. They get so much magic power for their population, and you can easily conquer the dwarves for a huge gold bonus or the trolls for melee troops. Plus you only have to worry about one computer wizard (sometimes none) for a while if you start in Myrror and if you take and hold the towers they work as pretty effective chokepoints (at least against the computer)

My favorite hero was the witch, Morgana, who raised units she damaged more than 50% health as undead on your side after you win abattle. Non-Troll undead work great as garrisons. Undead Trolls benefit from being undead while still regenerating after battle (even if they get wiped out their unit will be back at full health afterwards, unless your whole army is destroyed, which makes them the perfect unit to charge city gates.)

Also, the last time I played I had an independant gameplay patch on it that seemed to improve the game quite a bit. I can't remember what it was called but it gave all the settlers swimming ability so the AI isn't hamstrung if they start on an island and does some other rebalancing for the races and magics.

The thing I always hated was expansionist opponents, because that tends to be he way I play also. I'd lose all my fame for destroying all their crappy Klackon cities to replace them with dwarves or dark elves. I always thought there should be a Klackon wizard portrait, because one of the non player wizards always chooses them in my games.

I wish someone would make MoM2.

Sasquatch lives in the Americas, so probably not. This game is set in Dark Ages Finland. As for seals, I never saw them but I never tried playing a coastal map. If they are in, that would be a good spot to look I'd guess.

UPDATE
It also means the name will have to change. This is no longer conservative crime squad at all. It's not even political crime squad anymore. But somehow just "crime squad" doesn't sound right.

I'm open to suggestions.

How about just Political Crime Squad or Social Crime Squad?

Also, if I'm understanding your post correctly, we could set all our squad's target issues to the closest to how we feel in real life, and then would endeavor to change society to our personal utopia whether it is liberal, conservative, or just plain crazy?

Sarah Palin is a retard and used in animal testing or something?
I don't find it that amusing. Yeah, I sort of agree, but it's just not that funny to me.

Her son is mentally retarded and she is a conservative. She also brings him up all the time, usually involving the health care bill and how it would spell doom for him somehow.

OTOH, the early history of my fortress was plagued by tantrum spirals, and I had several melancholy dwarves try to commit suicide by jumping into ponds. They all died of thirst, and there's no way their stats were that silly.

Captured goblins can have children? How does this work? Do they have to be captured with their spouse? Did they come to the fort pregnant?

I suspect it's the spouse reason somehow.

I also know there was a case of a human liaison who became trapped at a fort and started having children inside the zoo built around her.

I remember that thread. It was extremely amusing. Someone should find a link. But not me.

LordBucket. Have you read about what I said about mentally retarded (or maybe homeless) people being classified as animals for purposes of "animal testing?" It seems to me that would be rather conservative, since they could argue that they aren't "pulling their own weight." In my opinion it makes more sense then having hybrid mutants. After all, the Nazis were pretty conservative and they classified other humans as sub-human.

Also, I thought my Sarah Palin joke was pretty funny but apparently no one else does or doesn't get it.

Assign him the x-bow through the military screen, which is the m key then hit w to select his weapon type. I think the more he chases the animal the more his ambusher skill rises, but I'm not sure. It may be that him doing that is good training.
