2 peasant / 2 fisherdwarf / 2 mason

Desert! Absolutely, desert. With lots of water! Maybe seashore desert. And magma! Yes

Climate:

Well, it seems skaltum extends his turn. He'll finish by the end of this week hopefully before weekend. Gyron is maybe on Sunday.

Journaling is welcome. I'll later make computer paintings over the engravings in the fortress. I'll also make other artistic visions of the fortresses (at least my own, and the view from my fortress) as it develops. These will occupy the first page of this thread!

remember to toss all that stone into megaprojects!!!!!<3
microcline is magmagratable

stonestorage is unplayable

Flooding old mines with magma is a solution!

Give me 16th I'll do all this to save SGIX!
Then I'll ask Nahkh to inspect. His tgchan quests attract poorly.

Granted. The world economy mysteriously optimises to produce a maximum amount of cheesesticks eliminating all forests for new cattle farms so that anyone in starvation or just hungry is now fed with cheesesticks. This only lasts for so long as the invironment holds against the increasing amount of natural gases emitted from the rotting corpses of cattle people don't want to consume because they're already sated with cheesesticks and the carbondioxide produced by the cattle. Then the ecology collapses bringing down most of the human civilisation except those cheestick eating bastards who mutate in the process and eventually are able to colonize Venus with grand success.

I wish that *the future generations would colonize Mars instead.

Gyron,

your turn will be after dwarfofdefeat's turn. You made it just in time to sign up. I guess you can at least take my third dwarf, the one without a name and laboring under "Moonblight son". Turns will be every four years then.

I'll put a map up later, it's a pain in the ass to upload to DFMA for me.  If someone did it for me I'd add POIs sooner.  Probably not really gonna be a narrative or pictures because I didn't take notes and am a hypocrite.  Turn went well, though, spent most of my time on the army and a new set of fortifications.

nil, your turn was glorious.

Skaltum, i tried to make the bunkers ready but I ended up only needing to make some more mechanisms for the levers, so could you finish this thing as you move some seeds to your fortress. Also, at some point isolate House Atreides. I don't think that I've got enough food in my own fortress, and the well didn't get finished before the merchants arrived, so if you separate my bunnker from the others make sure that the well is completed before that.

In other terms it's your turn skaltum!

My clan's name is Dwarven Moonblight. But what shall be the name of our nation?

The immigrants will move to the bunker which is opened and then they will find their homes there. The challenge is to make enough farms and so that there won't be problem of supplies over the 2 next years which will be no-construction time

Turn 1

11th Malachite

The clans are migrating to opposite sides of the valley.

12th Malachite
We are building three strongholds around the valley.

13th Malachite
Everyone has been busy, except the Atreides, because me and 'Skal' did everything for them.

Okay, I start the turns! 3 Players, turns every 3 years. Starting settings of my choice.

We need some kind of a system to make things go smoother.  In case the player is too busy to finish his turn. Lets say, if you haven't finished your turn in one week the turn passes on and the time that's left from the earlier player is added to the turn of the next player. I'll start the game today and tomorrow will be skaltums' turn. Then preferably on tuesday or on wednesday will be DwarfOfDefeats turn etc. Let's try this arrangement!

Two kinds of enemies have trapavoid, Chaos Dwarves and Orcs. Neither are an immediate concern, as the Orc have been changed to act like normal goblins, and chaos dwarves tend to ambush much earlier then they atteck, so there will be warning. Cage traps are a viable defensive measure, although limited. How the stockpiles are arranged I don't know. Originally, booze production and storage was supposed to be contained just north of the dining room, but labreck changed a lot of things.
:-[

Yeah and I was going to make the dining room into a food storage again and a new magma dining room to the south of the current dining hall. But I just messed things up a few times so I ended up with no time for more expansions.

btw, have you mined the copper northeast of the magma pipe?
I strongly vote in favor of using Tweak to create an infinite water source, or barring that start an entirely new map (easy for me to say as someone who hasn't played yet, although I'd be willing to wait longer and let those who've already played go again if that's what it takes).  I've seen water shortages sap the fun out of way too many of these.

I lean too

I'm so sorry, I posted the save in such a hurry I didn't pay attention to all the "appropriate" procedures.

They died again, god damn it

Oh! Maybe I forgot to change "dwarves may go outside" switch on when I saved,
what was it? 'O' and 'I'? Can't motorically remember the shortcut.
or maybe it was O+R.

although it is an autosave so my normal mental processes didn't automatically do that thing. If you read my post you noticed that I didn't allow dwarves to go outside AFTER I closed up the fort, they treat the farm cave as outside because there are tunnels that lead outside but cannot be accessed by the siegers from above because they're "dug deep" :S

The dwarves keep rushing into the cave but stop at its entrance because they think they're doing something they shouldn't do and that fucks up their normal routines.

1st Obsidian 302

We have started te construction of the city of the dead nearby the farms. The living quarters are filled with stone so it's difficult to habitate them before the constructions are finished.

11th Obsidian 302
Trade has been poor this year due to a continuous siege to our fortress. The diplomat we let in the fortress was so dissappointed in us. I wonder if the caravans return next year.

We have been busy finding water and picking the tunnels and brewing more drinks this fall of the year. I wish that the city of the dead will not fill up before the children play in our living quarters.

//PsyberianHusky have you ever created a map file? we could upload a compressed map after your turn - I just didn't have time to do that

Um do you mean you like want it zipped ?

No.
