Playing with civ forge unleashed (just like regular civ forge, but most of the new races can't talk, making them always hostile) and the orc mod.
Just after the first immigrant wave, 7 undead woolly mammoths slaughtered my entire fortress. So I reclaimed. got 64 soldiers.
One mammoth killed them, every one.

Also, make sure they're not surrounded by "outside" tiles with "Dwarves stay inside" set. I had that cause something similar once.

Starting on a fresh embark, I had my mason/architecht throw up a quick trade depot.
While Mining, I get the "Mason has created a masterpiece" message. The only thing the mason's done is make a depot.
so, two questions:
1. What good is it
2. is it dangerous to tear it down? (Will it make him tantrum?)

Actually, there's no record of corpse warfare ever causing a plague in a city, a;though it was tried several times. More commonly, it was fire or stones fired over the wall, and almost never at the wall, even after the introduction of trebuchets. This is only true of catapults/trebuchets. Ballistae are very low-arc weapons.
BTW, a trebuchet is not very complicated. I built several as a freshman in high school. It's just a frame, arm, and a sling. Anyone who can bult a catatapult can build a treb.

I assure you, you will not be able to drink an adult Grizzly under the table.
I don't know.... I've met some men who looked like Grizzly Bears....
An adult male Grizzly Bear can reach upwards of 230 kilos (upwards of 500lbs). You will not drink one under the table; it has a gigantic mass advantage.
Of course, some adult male humans can reach upwards of 1000 lbs.
