I'll just comment that I like the pictures with notes on them.  I think I'll use some like that with Incestpassions.

I usually use at least three pumps so this very thing does not happen.  RIP Arni.

And Helga is much as I pictured her.  If she doesn't have enough to do, participation in a leather making industry would also be up her alley.

WARNING!  SPOILERS WILL BE DISCUSSED IN THIS THREAD! PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK!

I just generated a 2000 year world using Genesis 1.8.  I was hoping for some epic wars, but instead I got an interesting dwarven civ.

They founded a city in year 1.  It was destroyed in year 5 by a goblin civilization led by a

They have no other cities.  And yet almost 2000 years later they appear to still be going strong.  In legends mode they routinely appoint kings, queens, generals, liasons, and diplomats.

Here's the world history info for the civ:

As Deon pointed out in his Genesis mod thread, the rulers started off worshipping the god of fortresses, war, and victory.  But when the mountainhome was lost, they lost their faith.  After wandering in the wilderness for a few hundred years, the dwarven rulers began to worship the god of blight.  An evil tradition that has continued to this day, almost 2000 years after these dwarves became wandering exiles.

We have embarked on the old mountainhome with the help of Embarkanywhere.exe.

There is currently a bug associated with mountainhomes such that all stone walls under the large open entrance are automatically smoothed.  This includes the caverns, so don't be surprised by the massive starting wealth or the autosmoothing of anything dug underneath the mountainhome.

Here are the rules if you want to play:

To get a turn, request a turn.  You will be put on the turn list.

You can play up to 1 full year, spring to winter.  You have 1 week to do this, after which the save game must be uploaded.

If you fail to upload, the next person will revert to the last posted save.

When you are done with your turn, PM the next person on the list to let them know it is their turn.

After your turn, do some sort of write up.  Even if you are horrible at writing, and don't have much time, at least put up a list of major events that happened during your turn.

Preference to get a named dwarf goes to those who sign up for turns.  I don't know if we will get many migrants since there is no mountainhome.

Try not to to kill the performance of the game on purpose, Single digit FPS is no fun for anyone.

The basic theme of the fort is long exiled dwarves worshiping evil god have finally found their ancestral home.  They are returning to reclaim it and reforge a dwarven empire focused on bringing blight across the land.  Therefore a strong military and starting wars is encouraged.

I'm pretty sure you can breach the aquifer with the help of a couple of all wood screw pumps and dwarf power (pump operating).  If you do it wrong, be prepared to flood your fort/drown your miners.

Have FUN.

I'll claim the doctor.

Name:  Helga van Zant
Profession: der Doktor
Other interests:  Anatomy, leather, spikes, and PAIN
Goals:  In addition to being the best doctor she can be, building a hidden chamber for her fun.  She will also resort to injuring other dwarves to get a chance to improve her doctoring skills. (Dropping children of 3-4 level bridges and what not.)

I'd be interested is doing a community fort with it, but I just started one not too long ago.  But if there is any interest, possibly a community/succession game?  Just thought I would post it here first before actually setting up a thread in the comm games part of the forums.

Embarking on the mountainhome site using embarkanywhere, there is already well over 700000 in created wealth.  So FUN beasties should come after only a few trade seasons.

Do you think that without having a city, caravans would still come?  I've played with dead civs before where they never do, but I've never seen a civilization in exile.

Also, as there has been a lot of Lovecraft talk lately, take a look at the worship list of one of the other dwarven civs in this game.

Just go for catapults instead of balistas.  Unless the problem of balista arrows being deflected by clothing has been fixed.

"We have a quorum.  There is only one item of business." said OmnipotentGrue.

Argonnek responded, "Aye lad, but do we have the fortitude to see this battle through?"

"I am sick of his overbearing, better than thou, bossy attitude.  Just because he is a Jade dwarf doesn't make him any better than us." added Doompotato.

"Who should replace him?" asked Therlath Thimsure. "He's bad enough, but some of you would be worse.  If we are going to vote Deon out as expedition leader, we need to be calm and rational about the choice of his replacement."

He continued, "OmnipotentGrue is too vital to this fort's existence to be leader.  Right now fishing is our only source of food.  Argonnek is fine one moment, then crazy the next.  No offence, Argonnek."

"Filthy elves..." Argonnek's eyes rolled back in his head and foam started to form at the edge of his mouth.

"See what I mean. Crazy.  Probably flashbacks to the time he spent in the elf wars.  Doompotato.  You are a lazy bastard.  And me, I don't even want to be here, but I'm not going to brave hordes of undead to make it back to civilization by myself. Who does that leave?"

OmnipotentGrue replied, "Hazey Jane and..."

Doompotato cut him off.  "Absolutely not! She can't be leader"

"Why not. Wait. She?" asked Therleth Thimshure.

"Uh.. Yeah.  What he said. She?"  asked OmnipotentGrue.

"I just found out.  Saw her without her fake beard. We'll have to send her away.  This is a religious retreat, and spiritual matters are for men." said Doompotato, his eyes twitching nervously around the room.

"Thats true." added OmnipotentGrue.

"I'm not sure.  I don't think I could send her out alone." said Therleth Thimshure. "And she does make some tasty brew."

OmnipotentGrue stated, "It has to be done."

His eyes clearing, Argonnek wiped the spit from his lips.  "Are you suggesting we send away the maker of me brew?" His hand dropped to his battle axe.  "Sounds awfully elvish of you."

Doompotato came up the stairs. "Deon, we've got good news and bad news.  Which would you like first?"

Deon glanced at him, "The good new of course.  Tell me the furniture in the dining room and offices are done.  I'm tired of doing paperwork in the dorms."

OmnipotentGrue replied, "The offices are done.  The dining room is close to completion."

"That is great news.  And the other?"

Doompotato smiled as he said, "You are no longer expedition leader.  We decided to put someone in charge who wasn't as interested in interfering with our lives."

Deon stood there, stunned.

Doompotato continued, "Also, we found out that Hazey Jane is a girl, and we decided she could stay. Just thought you should know."

At that, Deon looked up and smiled. "That sure is convenient.  Hazey Jane told me that and all about your little blackmail attempt a couple of weeks ago.  Well I've got good news and bad news for you as well. Take your pick."

"Uh.. The bad news?" said Doompotato.

"I talked to Ingiz just this morning, and he has decided to smooth the walls and floors of the dining room, offices, and dormitory instead of working on individual rooms."

"How is that bad news?" asked OmnipotentGrue.  "What's the good news?"

"Hazey Jane and I are having amazing sex."

Deon's Journal: 11th Felsite, 1051

Had a talk with Hazey Jane this morning that answered several questions.  First, why would anyone name their son Jane? Secondly, why did I find her suspicious? Third, is a fake beard all it takes to pretend to be a dwarvish man? Why wouldn't you also take a man's name? And finally, why did I keep finding myself looking at those cave cotton trousers of hers?

They didn't.  She was hiding something.  Apparantly.  She's not too bright.  My subconscious mind knew.

Hazey Jane is a woman.  And she is very religious.  She said all she wants to do is serve people, just like her goddess, Girtol, the Ferries of Tricking, whom is associated with hospitality directs.

I've got to go finish the tower wall, but I've convinced Hazey Jane that rubbing my sore muscles after work would be a good way to provide hospitality.

I'll wait for Doompotato to make his move before we break the news to the others.

Doompotato's Journal:  20th Felsite, 1051

So thirsty!  So hungry!  That bastard Ingiz took his time.  11 days I spent running.  Trying not to get squashed by one of those undead monsters.  I need to sleep.  I'll deal with Hazey Jane when I wake up.

24th Felsite, 1051

Doompotato was shaken awake.

"Get up! Get up!  We've got to go help!" Therleth Thimsure stood over him. "The elephant skeletons are back.  There are ten of them this time.  We've got to get the wall up now, or we will all die!"

"Tenofthem!OhGods!Letsgo!"

Up on the surface, Deon was directing activities. "You two, start hauling logs inside, OmnipotentGrue! Stop fishing, and move inside the wall.  Someone tell Argonnek to stop cuting more trees.  We need him back here near the wall with his axe if the elephants get to close."

And so, over the next week they worked on the wall and hauled as many logs inside as they could.

Until finally:

"Its time!  They are moving in!  Everyone inside! Get that wall in place!" Deon shouted.

The wall was finished.

Everyone looked around in relief.  They would live.

Ingiz spoke up. "We don't have much food or drink left besides fish.  I'm going to dig out some farms.  Anyone want to help?"

Deon grabbed a pick. "I'll help.  Argonnek, Doompotato, Hazey Jane.  Start working on the floodgates and mechanisms for the farms and furniture for the dining room."

Doompotato glanced at Hazey Jane. 'My revelation will have to wait.' he thought as he headed to the mason's workshop.
