Kaldach seemed to be staring at the peaks of the volcano ever since it came into view. Despite all the ash and soot in the air, he seemed to glare at it consistently, as if completely distracted from everything else. His mouth slanted, something seemed to be on his mind, his face only scrunched further as if he himself was trying to figure out what.

As the group passed the gatekeepers and talks began on what to do next, the mercenary shook himself out of his reverie, addressing Bertholt.
: "Sounds like a scheme, all right. We shouldn't be tossing money around like it's nothing."

The mercenary turned around and quickly raised the blackened sword in his hand for a brief moment before swinging it directly into the spot where the Bandit Leader had stood. The metal of the sword screeched for a brief moment before being driven into the ground.

Kaldach slowly wobbled back onto his feet as the healing got to his wounds. His posture seemed to improve gradually, but the grimace on his face did not. Switching swords to the ebony blade of the Devil Sword, he moved slowly towards the other side of the hills, where the Bandit Leader last was.
: "You're not getting away."
