With the world collapsing in upon itself, Beanchubbs decided he needed to act, and he needed to act fast. He searches through the void for his rock that he made so long ago. Instead he finds a giant fluffy ball of what used to be his rock. He sighs, and grabs it. As he flies back to the Earth to get his dwarves, he changes the puff ball back into what it once was.
Beanchubbs changes the giant cotton ball back into a rock

He then goes down and searches the entire surface of the planet for every single dark dwarf that is still alive. When he thinks he has them all, he rises up, looks back down upon the Earth in sadness, for he had plans for it himself, and goes to the rock and puts the dwarves there. This task had drained much from him, so he stayed on the rock with his dwarves and rested.
Beanchubbs brings the dwarves to the rock.

I thought of another thing to add in. I don't know if you consider this to be the "Megaprojects" section, but      Mechanics
It should cover everything from making a screw pump, to creating a water based clock. Mechanics is often overlooked in most of the tutorials I've watched/read and is considered something for more players who know all the basics and can execute on those basics. Considering this is a guide for all skill levels, all levels of mechanics should be included.

Or you could just eat the existance and set us right back to square one with just the void.

Personally I think it's great he's screwin up all our plans. Puts a nice new spin on things   ;D ;D

Suggestion:
In my experience, figuring out what do do with things wasn't really a problem. It was figuring out how to do those things. As most people on these forums know, the interface is a very tricky and maze-like system. I suggest one of the first things on the guide be a description and map of the interface. Maybe in the first tier you have on your guide, place things like how to use the designation, stockpile, build, zones, viewing (q menu, v menu, k menu, etc.) and announcement windows. In tier two, the units, orders, military, and status screens. In tier three the civ, orders, and zones. And in tiers 4 and 5 put the other menus that aren't used too too often.
Also, maybe just have a seperate section for an entire map of the interface, so people who want to can see the entire thing in one place.
Other than that, good job.

Edit: ninja'd

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Magmapipe Critter Elimination Poll

I usually dig into the side of it, and build a single exit for them. I chain a dog near the channel into the magma pipe and station a drafted lye maker in the cage trapped exit. When they see it, they pop up, and kill the dog, charge at the recruit, and get captured. I set them into a breeding chamber (modded them) and use a cage trap method to get some of them into the arena.

Schist. Wanna know why? Because I imagine traders approaching saying
"Holy Schist!!! That is one brown fortress!."
I also like the brown color.

Would fighting across a river give any advantages to either side? Or is it just kind of there?

Did you really give my guy 2 swords, or are you just putting in flavor text? If so, then you pretty much kick ass. :D
He never picked up a shield despite being ordered to, so I gave him a second sword to compensate (though in-game he only uses one at a time). I figure it fits his angry personality.

[Napolean Dynamite Style] Heck yes!!![/Napolean Dynamite Style]

As he looked out the window and into the surrounding lands, he decided now would be the time. His Empire would grow great once again, whether it be by diplomacy or force, his Empire would be the shining beacon of civilization it once was.

After watching the people in the city go about their day for a little while longer, he returned to his desk. He unrolled a peice of parchment, grabbed his quill and dipped it into the ink and wrote down his orders.

Place labor on:
Tiles 5, 4 (Plains w/ river) + 6 food
Tiles 18, 17, 16, 7 (Forests) + 4 food + 4 wood

Final Resources: 10 food   4 wood   -6 labor

Build Quarry on Tile 12  -2 labor
Build Hall of Learning  -2 wood  -2 labor

Labor: 10/10
Food gained 10/ Food eaten 10

Total:
2 wood

Could I get Construction as the replacement tech?
