Locking the doors won't help.  Stockpiles tend to stay in teh same spot because of lots of things in bins.  Just make all yoru bins out of worthless, yet heavy metals and you'll be fine.  Gotta use that lead somehow.

I tend to take narrow stuff and encrust it with green glass or pig tail as I train up some of my dwarves.  It sells for a lot, plus it counts as mine.

If your pack animals mysteriously start breeding then it's probably because the traders brought a male pack animal to pull a cart or carry something.  It happens from time to time.

I'd still try to bring a breeding pair of camels.  They give the most meat and fat for any breeding pair you can bring on embark.  Sure dogs are the best embark point to meat, but you may come out ahead in the long run with camels.

For any types of clowns, I recommend a hallway with lots of steel upright spears using bauxite mechanisms set to repeat.  In fact there is no problem that can't solve.  You can also stick some dwarves with crossbows behind some fortifications and hope for the best.

Dwarves only get bad thoughts from corpses decaying/being destroyed outside of a tomb.  Entomb your dead and wait for them to decay to bones.  Then do what you want with them.  You'll never get a bad thought that way.

The bottom floor of the funhouse will always have some magma with engravings of sentients being burned, tortured, crying or other not nice things.  There will also be some charcoal and ash down there too.  That's the ringmaster's house.  The other three floors will have different stuff depending on the clowns living in it.

There is always the !!lignite block!! in a bin trick.  Just be very careful if you want to use any kind of fire as a defense.  You'll have to worry about !!dwarves!!
