You leave your tent, a sorry assemblage of sticks, linen cloth, scrap metal and bones.

There's only one sun on the sky today - the red one. It is a good day to travel, so you prepare to dismantle the tent.

You are not thirsty, not hungry and you feel fine.

Your canteen is half-full of water and your bag has tiny amount of food left inside.

You unearth the plasteel strongbox that was forged by the Ancients, no doubt, and inside you find the item that you stored there for safekeeping long ago. That item is...

A) A sword of porcelain and metal.
B) A black box without an opening.
C) A map of the Ancient city.
D) A bottle of white-blue pills.

Once upon a time, you were a Drone.

Specifically bred and modified since conception until birth, then carefully brought up to serve a singular purpose. Well...

...that's until the Great Galactic War. EXO-LUMINA Corp's rule ended, the democracy returned (except in places where brutal military dictatorships took over), and the New Galactic Federation is trying stardate-by-stardate to restore human civilization from its knees.

But the instability and brutality of the past 27 years is gone. With the New Galactic Federation's Basic Rights Charter, you're no longer a Drone - you're now legally free person, and an adult, at that.

Homeless, without family, you were doing oddjobs and drifting about the galaxy without much purpose. Finally, at brink of starvation and despair, you've applied for the first job you could find on the constantly shifting Job Network.

Bartending for Synthol Refueling Conglomerate, at the Galactic Refueling Outpost 254831, Zanzibar Sector.

First of all, let's get topical.

You start out in a middle of nowhere, and have 24 Turns to develop your land, colonize nearby territories, gather wealth and resources, build monuments and perhaps knock down a peg or two that bastard obviously trying to out-wealth you.

IC Thread is here!

Three years ago, a young man named Cedric von Sachsen has risen in rebellion against Queen Sophia of Angeborten, swiftly exposing the treachery that she used to rule her subjects with iron will through the hands of her Consort. It was a struggle of epic proportions, numerous betrayals and dissappointments, and bloody battles. Now, as Cedric's lack of skill at governance and unstable behavior begins to show, fears rise amongst populace that yet another civil war might strike Angeborten, already devastated from previous conflict.

But this is not that story.

Three months ago, the combined forces of Herzgottia and Sterlitz rushed across the border of Inselkonige, ready to push the invaders from the north back into the sea. Common soldiers and upper class noblemen, united in purpose, are ready to sacrifice their lives in the name of Sigismund the Man-King to achieve their goal, or die trying. A war on scale that wasn't seen on the continent in generations is about to unfold, taking place on land, in the skies, and on the seas.

But this is not that story, either.

The story we will follow begins on an afternoon in a remote castle near Gallian-Tatalian border. A Gallian Princess is visiting her best friend and cousin, a Tatalian noblegirl named Cecilia. Their joyous meeting and occassion for frivolties will soon be violently interrupted. Their tragedy will sow the seeds of an even larger drama that will see betrayal, bloodshed and death across both borders...

A card/map game inspired by Twilight Struggle and one of my older forum games, Res Publica.

You get cards and a map, and you add Popularity of your party on the map whilst trying to contain the other parties. Each game phase you score points and the Party with highest score after the 4th phase wins.

PANKRATINIAN PARLIAMENT RULES:

1. There are four parties: Blue, Red, Yellow and Grey. Each starts the game with 3 points of Popularity pre-allocated on the Map of the Republic of Pankratinia.
2. At start of game, GM shuffles the Deck of 1920 Phase Cards and gives each Party 5 Cards. Each Party then adds another 2 Popularity wherever they wish.
3. The game is divided into 4 Phases, and those into Turns, and Turns into Actions (1 Turn = 1 Action per Party). The Action Order is: Red, Grey, Yellow, Blue.
4. 1920 and 1930 Phases have 4 Turns each; 1940 and 1950 Phases have 5 Turns each.
5. The Party can do the following as an Action:
* Play a Card in their Hand:
**Cards that are Neutral or belong to Your Party will play out as stated on the Card.
**Cards that belong to Another Party will give you 2 Popularity to allocate on the Map; but the Card's event will play out as well.
***You can specify whether you want to put down the 2 Popularity BEFORE or AFTER the Card's event goes through.
* Discard a Card from their Hand.
6. Cards Removed from Play cannot be re-played; other Cards that were Played but not Removed, as well as Discarded Cards, are put aside until next Phase.
7. At start of each new Phase (1930, 1940, 1950), the GM will add both Cards that were put aside and Cards from the new Phase to the Deck, shuffle it around, and hand out extra 5 Cards to each Party.
8. Scoring occurs at the end of the last Turn of a Phase; each Region grants Score based on X:Y number on the Map. Score is attained by getting 25%+1 Popularity Slots in a Region (X) and 50%+1 Popularity Slots in a Region (Y). For example: having 10 Popularity in KRUNICA will give your Party 5 Score (X 2 + Y 3).
9. At the end of 1950 Phase and its Scoring, the Party with highest Score wins.

All Cards List (73) can be found here on my Pastebin.

Let's get some atmosphere going shall we?

Compared to previous one, Mohists' defense bonus is lower (+2 instead +3) and Confucians' investment bonus is reduced too (4 per Province instead 3 per Province), and Legalists start with extra 5 Rice.

Provinces now have maximum Rice cap (40) to avoid super-investing in one Province.
