You tell the Vice-Governor to add the sugar items to the ledger.

Week 5, 1555 CYA

Speaking of sugarcane juice, the Gulden troop commander wants to have an inn for his weary soldiers.

"They might not be currently most useful but they tire and need to relax like any other. And I'm sure that our colonists would want a proper mead hall too!" You decide to...

A) Have an inn or tavern built for the colony, but all sugarcane juice (and rum, in the future) will be sent for export.
B) Have such an establishment constructed, where colonists can drink part of fruits of their hard labor!
C) Reject the idea, drunken people are unruly and disloyal, and that would spell disaster upon the colony.

You have the brave men sent westwards to the hills, telling them to try and find some mineral resources as well.

Week 4, 1555 CYA

The laborers have managed to get first few barrels of sugarcane juice and about twenty baskets of various fruit, which was processed, dried or otherwise stored for later.

Unfortunately, that is all; no valuable spices were found, and the fruits aren't extraodinarily tasty nor sweet.

The laborers ask you to procure tools and resources, to set up a proper sugar refinery and distillery, from the Homeland Ship that will be due somewhere in the Autumn.

The Vice-Governor explains to you that the Homeland Ship carries many supplies but has to divide them amongst several clonies it visits thorough the autumn. Therefore you should make no more than 3 entries into the Requisition Ledger per year.

Do you wish to add 'Sugar refining and distillery supplies' to the Requisition Ledger?

A) Definitely, sugar is a valuable commodity and will be the lifeblood of our economy!
B) Maybe not, there's plenty of resources to do and the men are still searching the hills in the west.

You decide to procure few thousand of slave-warriors.

522 DC, Mid-Autumn

Unfortunate news come from the southwest; the Nestel are fighting fiercely to keep their rule over their main island, and both the fleet and the garrison of the captured city suffered many losses. The Admiral asks you to provide fresh troops from somewhere and he won't complain about extra supplies either. You reply that...

A) Sadly, you cannot help him this time!
B) We just bought some few thousand slaves, let's send them there at once!
C) We just got some slaves, let's spend more money and send slaves and supplies to the front!
D) He can have the money and supplies, but our fresh troops need to remain in Duria.

OOC Thread is here! Use to discuss game mechanics, report errors and so on.

~~Before 1714 (Turn 0)~~

The War of Spanish Succession has ended. Now eight powers are ready to rush for power and dominance over others!

Quote from: Remember, 1 Army MUST stay in Capital!
NATIONAL DISPOSITIONS OF POWER:

Ottoman Empire: 22 provinces (4 SP), 10 armies, 3 fleets
Tsardom of Russia: 8 provinces (2 SP), 9 armies
Kingdom of Spain: 10 provinces (3 SP), 7 armies, 3 fleets
Kingdom of France: 6 provinces (2 SP), 5 armies, 2 fleets
Swedish Empire: 6 provinces (2 SP), 5 armies, 2 fleets
Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth: 6 provinces (2 SP), 6 armies
Hapsburg Monarchy: 6 provinces (2 SP), 6 armies
Great Britain: 3 provinces (1 SP), 3 armies, 2 fleets

This phase will take 48 hours or until all 8 players deploy their armies, fleets and set up their staging points.

10043
Sl4cker gets Poland, Puppyguard got France and that means piratejoe meant Hapsburgs.

IC Thread soon.

Just 3 more.

You ask few masons to set up a roofed shrine of the Dragon King.

It won't be having any dragon bones on the altar but you're sure Father Zecklinger will get some from the visiting Imperial ships next winter.

Speaking of Zecklinger, he praises your devotion to the Dragon King anyways.

Week 3, 1555 CYA

Some braver men want to explore the colony's surroundings!

They wish for the Governor's allowance and blessing, and they might be gone for a month tops as they will survey the area.

A) Great! Have them search the western hills again, maybe the initial surveyors missed obvious riches there!
B) Great! Have them search the nearby forests, mayhaps we can find some more plants of use there.
C) Nah, let's not send healthy people to certain doom in unexplored land!

10047
After a bit of patching up, and a bit of marching to a more cloistered area, a camp was set up!

//Campsite RP time! We will be back to your usual battlemap and plot shenanigans on next Saturday.

10048
You order that local forests are to be cut down and farmland prepared; sugarcane harvested and bushes checked for fruit!

Week 2, 1555 CYA

Father Zecklinger demands a shrine!

This unheard in the Empire for a colonial land to not have a temple or shrine of some sort, where people could place sacrifice or pray for the prosperity to the Dragon King.

A) We will surely devote people, resources and time to build a magnificent temple over the course of next few months!
B) Sure, let's have a few masons set up a small shrine for Zecklinger and other faithful.
C) We've got to be frugal! No temple building for us, at least this year!

1550 CYA*

You are Marquis Artfried Bangbonger, Governor of the newest colony of the Gulden Empire in the Western Continent, the name of the small settlement: Neue Flopstaadt! What a glorious name, don't you agree?

The lush palm forests and the green seas are alien to you, a man grown up in the snow-covered mountains and pine forests of the northern Guldena.

But you will prevail and lead your family, colony, people and nation to glory!

Or die trying, but let's not think about it.

For the past year, the colonists toiled, clearing the forest and setting up crude homes for themselves, the laborers, and the final touch was a wooden two-story fort where the soldiers and you will live, until something more spacious can be afforded.

Ah, here comes your Vice-Governor with the Ledger of Colonial Status!

Morale: 4
Population: 4
Economy: 4
Army/Navy: 6/Tiny

Three whole Gulden arquebusier troops live amongst your settlers, and three small frigates are docked in the calm coast. Whoever shows up to wrestle this colony from your hands will have a hard time doing that.

Week 1, 1555 CYA

The colony has not yet established its industry.

Quote

Those who cleared the forest in the previous year reported that the woods have a lot in ways of good timber and exotic fruit.
They've also found wild sugarcane growing in the north, which could be harvested and farmed by the colonists.

Quote

They've investigated the hilly lands in the west, but found nothing interesting during their trip there.

Many tasty fish are found in local waters! Tuna, mackerel, anchovies and even edible marblefish and the rare spongecuddlers. Even the clams and oysters are abundant in the waters!

You meet up with the various laborers and heads of the families, and declare that...

A) A forestry will be set up first, sending the logs and fruit and cut timber to the Empire, plus it will allow for good maintenace of the guard ships.
B) Farm land will be prepared, for cultivation of fruits and maybe even sugarcane, as sugar and rum are always in demand in the Empire.
C) Fishing industry will take priority, to provide food for the colony and with some luck, maybe even a pearl jewellery for the noblewomen of the Empire.
D) A search party will be assembled and sent west and south, to seek some other wealth; mayhaps there are ores to be mined, spices to be harvested, or natives to meet?

I remember you mentioned I get to loot one of the untouched plant spots at the end of maps, hatkitty?
