You kiss your son on forehead for good luck and send him off to battle alongside dwarves, Gubta, and the leftover of Luathbas military. Not that there are many soldiers left.

891 AD, The day after

Even more bad news come from the south; the beaten Damdamians regrouped and are now camping near the ruins of House of Lech, and scouts have detected another full troop, 4000 Damdamians, marching from Lametania to reinforce their fighting brethren. This means that somewhere between 6 to 9 thousand (any estimates are sketchy at this point of war, really) Damdamians occupy the south.

891 AD, Three days after that

Quote
5*

Ceodwell has won! The numerically inferior troops of Luathbas and its allies have beaten back the mixed troop of Kiwis and Damdamians! The dwarvish runemasters, shortly before the battle, turned the Damdamian camps into muddy swamps, softening and liquidifying the soil. Then the Gubta rained slingbullets and javelins upon their heads before main corps of Luathbas infantry moved in to push upon the enemy. The Kiwi got panicked and ran away, leaving their Damdamian allies to die. The two thousand or so Damdamians stationed at Beren's lands might not be happy about this.

While a victory, it chipped away another few hundred of Luathbas men, leaving Ceodwell woefully outnumbered against any coherent force that could show up.

You decide to...

A) Declare this a good moment to ask the Damdamians for peace negotiations.
B) Have Ceodwell swing southwards and attack the fresh Damdamian troops.
C) Recall the leftover leftovers to the capital, and prepare to a inevitable siege by the Southerners.

@Kingdom of Spain:

Spanish soldiers pick up their rifles and go on to conquer places!

Spanish army destroyed!

Unfortunately the Spaniards haven't fought anyone in last sixteen years or so, so the Portuguese easily beat them up.

Naturally the Spanish decided to attack someone more defenseless - like Rome!

After its capture, the new Spaniard overlords of Italian peninsula ordered all Italian territories to surrender.

You agree to the deal.

"The runemasters will be ready to use their magicks against Damdamians every few days. I hope your military leaders won't use them up on mere skirmishes.

The dwarf leaves, and the Dahnian envoy enters the throne room.

"Greetings, Queen Elana." He then opens up his cloak and points a small crossbow at you!

Quote

Unfortunately for him, one of your guards up on the gallery is quick with reflexes and plants a crossbow bolt in his head, killing him instantly.

Later that day, the Spymaster visits you.

"Your Majesty, this man was carrying a coded letter which my agents are working on currently. Preliminary investigation suggests a Damdamian cipher. We will inform you whenever we discover anything else."

891 AD, Week later

The investigation into the matter of fake Dahnian envoy has been completed by Spymaster and his agents; the coded letter used a Damdamian cipher and was ordering the emissary to kill you in hopes of throwing the government into further chaos.

The agents also had checked on the identity of the emissary; the 'real' man by the name given by the would-be assassin is an actual diplomat of King Anktuk, who is currently in Duchy of Tven on a courtesy visit.

Prince Ceodwell and his soldiers scored another, minor victory against Damdamians. Unfortunately Ceodwell is now low on men and has ordered an orderly retreat toward the capital.

Quote
5

Report from Augas places the war in the east in your favor; two outposts were retaken and while the Damdamians there are still causing havoc, the Governor has them restricted to southern borderlands.

Unfortunately, it's time to face a much closer danger; the Damdamian-Kiwi army has moved through the Forest and are marching toward the capital! The officers at the capital convene with you, asking about the strategy for defense of the capital. You decide to...

A) Pull all forces within the city walls and prepare to repel a siege.
B) Send some cavalry forces to harass the Damdamians in hopes of thinning their numbers.
C) Send out the Gubta, Ceodwell with his leftovers and Dwarvish runemasters in large big troop in hopes to squash the western force.

You decide to talk with the dwarven representative first.

The fat dwarf clad in many cloaks clearly comes from the political/trader castes rather than the always-dirty craftsdwarves.

"Greetings, Queen Elana! We know that your Kingdom is in grave danger therefore we offer to use services of our runemasters."

"One artifact won't help, dwarf." The Advisor crosses arms.

"Indeed. But we offer to mold the earth underneath the feet of the Damdamians, so that it will consume their horses and tents and open up under their formations during battle, making their soldiers trip over and lose cohesion in battle. We believe that annullment of the tax you imposed on us, plus a ten year contribution to our purses, will be sufficient to cover our expenses." The courtiers murmur, the Advisor grumbles and the Treasurer sobs in the corner.

Ultimately, you decide to...

A) Agree to the deal as it is.
B) Attempt to negotiate a cheaper price.
C) Reject the offer of magickery.

You order Ceodwell to meet with the Damdamians that just destroyed House of Lech, and some money is sent to the western cities, with instructions to procure mercenaries with those coins.

891 AD, Five days later

Quote
4*

Another victory by Ceodwell! Four thousand southerners were slain, amounting to a full unit of Damdamian Army!

However, there are heavy casualties amongst Luathbas soldiers; Oliphaunts no longer exist in this country, for example, and Lady Enwynn along with majority of her soldiers won't be returning to Tven, either. Ceodwell himself has been lightly wounded in the arm, and he lost a half of his soldiers.

891 AD, And five days after that

The Gubta soldiers are here! Over one thousand five hundred javelineers, slingers and swordsmen were ordered to join Prince Ceodwell's forces to replenish his losses.

Quote

Message of defeat is sent from the west; the allied troop of Kiwis and Damdamians routed a troop of Luathbas soldiers and mercenaries at the Battle of Mnyllenych Forest, the one that lies westwards from the capital.

According to other reports, several smaller cities have surrended to the Kiwis after the battle.

One of the guards walks into the throne room.

"Your Majesty, there's an envoy from Kingdom of Dahnia and representative of the dwarven runesmiths, awaiting an audience with you." You decide to meet first with...

A) The dwarven representative.
B) The Dahnian diplomat.

You ask the Governor to split the Gubta reinforcements in half.

891 AD, Few days later

Quote

Your son Ceodwell is hailed by your soldiers as 'Warlord', as he has beaten back another horde of Damdamians, killing one thousand and captured another thousand.

Quote
2*

But there is nothing bottling up Damdamians, who are still about 10.000 strong, in the south! House of Lech have finally crumbled to ruin and whoever was defending it has been slaughtered by victorious Damdamians; few escaped to inform the rest of the country about this defeat.

Two messengers arrive at your court by the evening; one from the west of Luathbas, the other from your son Ceodwell.

"Report from the west, your Majesty! King Beren sent almost three thousand of foot along with half of the unit of Damdamians! They're pressing upon our western flank, and the mayors of walled cities there plead you to send part of the Army."

"Prince Ceodwell asks for guidance! He has been victorious but House of Lech has fallen, and he wishes to know where he should hit next!" After a moment of thinking, you decide to...

A) Send Ceodwell to meet and hopefully destroy the main invasion force in the south, while some mercenaries will be hired for the western cities.
B) Ask Ceodwell to split his forces and defend both the south and the west of Luathbas in the same time.
C) Order Ceodwell retreat to central Luathbas and prepare for a mighty siege of the capital territory.

Also Tiruin your Military HQ order thingy is invalid cuz you forgot to specify which army moves where v;

10286
Though, speaking of which, question, Haspen. If UK is at war with France but allied with Spain, and France is allied with Spain and tried to convoy troops through a sea province containing UK and Spanish fleets, using the Spanish fleets, what happens?

In this particular case, because Fleets work as 'stepping stones' in this game, nothing happens. French army gets easily transported and UK ships can't do a thing about it.

Those are pillars ;v
