You quickly brandish your ancestral knife and stab at the ghost. The light of the blade shines strongly as the ghastly woman wails in pain and her corporeal body dissolves.

The next morning you have no choice than speak to your courtiers about this - as most heard the wail - and they quickly call in some priests skilled at ghost-repelling. You tell them what you've learned, and they excuse themselves for few minutes to debate.

"My liege, we think we have the answer." The lead priest says. "This is most definitely ghost of Serinda, first wife of your father. Their only child killed her upon birth, and thus the ghost might not be aware of the boy's life, however short it was, and thus is kept here by its own blame. However, that you were able to stir her into presenting self means she is halfway lost, not able to distinguish Houlandin III's descendants from him. That you struck her with enchanted blade is most unfortunate, as she might appear wrathful tonight. Therefore, we advise a quick ritual of passing so that the ghost might have some chance to reach afterlife after being stuck in the palace for decades."

As you have no other options on mind and not wanting to deal with angry ghost later today, you decide to allow for the exorcism. They perform the ritual the same afternoon, and you don't hear of Serinda's ghost again.


Beren tips his hat as you pass him on your way to the library.

"My liege, I bring news about the meeting with the Damdamian official."

"Unfortunately, he does not trust you nor the Luathbas army, and therefore he doesn't want go further than exchange of correspondence. He would write, send it via trusted man to the border, where I would pick it up and bring it to you. After you write a reply, I would move to the border, and so on."

I dreamt that, after escaping from Moria, Oin and two other dwarves drank some magical water from a well and turned into two bear persons (two dwarves) and goat man (Oin), while Legolas in the meanwhile helped Frodo construct a Warcraft-esque gnomecopter to reach Mordor faster.

You decide to have Ystan concentrate on the positive aspects of multiculturalism and prosperity that Luathbas achieved under the enlightened rule of Houlandine dynasty.

"As you wish, my liege. I shall go now and retire to my temple, where I shall prepare the scrolls and transcibe them into singular tome. The moment I shall finish you shall learn of it." He bows again and then leaves.


One particular night something keeps you awake - maybe the pickles you had for dinner - and therefore you spend most of the night pacing about in the upper chambers and the library tower.

Then, as you enter a dimly lit corridor of the top floor of the royal guestchambers, unused since the reign of your father, you feel a chill go up your spine.

Then you see herl A translucent lady with featureless face and short hair.

"Darling..." She whispers and then starts floating toward you. "Darling have you come for me?..."

An elderly scholar-priest have arrived to seek audience with you.

"Greetings, our most beloved King Feodh! I am Ystan, and I write wise scrolls and sometimes even complete whole tomes of Luathbas history, and it took my attention that the libraries seem to not have a proper book on the history of Luathbas under the rule of your enlightened predecessors - and You, of course. Therefore, I wish to begin work on a tome that would have hundreds of pages and each adorned with illuminated details, alas, there is one problem..."

"I know of you." You rub your short beard. "I've read many works of lore written by you, Ystan the Quillmaster. Let me guess, it is monetary sponsorship you seek?" The priest blinks, and then bows his head with a smile.

"As your Highness already bluntly pointed it out, I shall bluntly admit it - indeed, sponsorship is what I seek. Normally, like with many other literary works, I would work under auspices of the Cult of Pantheon, but as my next work will mostly deal with your dynasty, I've decided to ask you first."

A) "We've sponsored many items and works of the Cult in the past, but it's about time we stop it. You shall receive no money from me, Ystan."
B) "And a wise choice, that! You shall have the money and the blessings of Luathbas Crown - may your work be fruitful, Ystan the Quillmaster!"

"Let's hear it."

He entertains you with a tale about the big brute and the short schemer who were warring for few decades since the brute moved into the house adjacent to the schemer, but once wolves begun appearing in the forest, they decided to put aside their quarrel and together go out and hunt the wolves.

"Isn't it a nice tale?"

"Are you saying that we should hire Damdamians to battle the Elves?" Beren blinks.

"I need to cover my tales with more metaphors as you're too wise for this. Indeed. And I happen to know a certain official who happens to be the cousin of the current commander of Lametania. What a coincidence, don't you agree?"

A) "Nice tale, nice coincidence, but I don't need to involve Damdamians in our wars."
B) "That is true. Mayhaps you could arrange an exchange between us and that official's cousin?"

You send the Army to vanquish the Trolls and purge the land of their evil.

Like the previous iterations of Luathbas forces dealing with magical beasties, so did your Army swiftly fall upon the Trolls. 23 of them were slain and burnt, in span of two weeks.

Not a single new Troll has been sighted afterwards. You might've stopped a real plague before it started!

You also stop searching for a Wizard, now that one isn't needed.


The scholars announce another bontiful harvest after a lovely and peaceful summer!

"The peasants are hoping for festivities, and the priests remind you that last time your forgot to pay the Gods proper respect in the way of lavish offerings." The advisor opens up a letter.

"Also, a letter have arrived from your aunt, Queen Sela of Dahnia. She is in need of money to cover her expenses, as she has taken a habit of hiring lots of mercenaries and adventurers on voyages into lands of the elves."

"How much money we have?" The advisor chuckles.

"We have enough to send money to your aunt and the temples and not even notice the loss, my liege."

A) "Let's sponsor the festivities but Sela will have to spend less on hired blades for a while!"
B) "Fine then! Prepare money for my aunt and for the festivals, at once!"
C) "The clergy won't get a single penny! My aunt, however, will always have my support against the elves. Send her the money!"
D) "For now we won't be spending anything... let's hoard some more coin first!"
