Just days before your marriage to Elana, cousin of Duke Tven, a messenger brings report from Augas; the Army have begun their offensive into the western Parsia after receiving a message from the Gubta commanders, and are now marching and laying waste to outposts of the Parsians.

Four days later, you marry Elana in a moderately pompous ceremony. Her cousin, Duke of Tven, and his two children, visit your Palace briefly to congratulate you and to leave Lady Elana in your arms. You find out that this Elana isn't a goddess of beauty, but is fair, and considering her eloquence, she is probably quite smart and good at conversations.

Then, the next morning, as you wake up beside your wife for the first time, a messenger arrives from the northwest.

"My liege, I bring, well, bad news from the gold mines." You quickly remember that the gold mines, while profitable, suffered a string of flooding due to being surrounded by the aquifer.

"Did they get flooded again?" The messenger blinks, blushes, and then nods, grimacing sadly.

You let out a sigh.

A) Ask the Treasurer to send material and money to get the mines operational as soon as possible.
B) Tell the messenger that the mines manager shall get no help from the Crown this time.
C) Send an envoy to the dwarves in the west; they're good with earth, and they're skilled workers, if your wise books and tomes are to be trusted. Surely they can do something to 'cure' the mines from their watery 'ailment'.

"Ah, my liege!" He turns partways toward the black haired youth. "This is Beren, the young bard I told you about, and who is willing to serve you as the court musician. Isn't that right, Beren?"

Stjolf coughs a bit.

"It's impolite to remain silent, Beren." The raven-haired kid scratches his cheek.

"I know, I'm just waiting for the King himself to say that he wants me in his court."
