You order your horsemen to go meet with the horse archers, who got caught in perfect position for crossfire! Your infatry uses that to the best of their ability...

Your horsemen manage to strike into the enemy group and wreck havoc amongst the horse archers who clearly aren't that skilled in melee combat! The Khanate is pushed back outside the protective ring.

Till evening, the combat continues; horse and human bodies piling up on both sides...

However, your army prevails and by the evening, the remaining Khanate riders give up on crushing the resistance and retreat eastwards, so by the night your men can camp. Over a thousand of bodies wearing Luathbas colors are found and buried, and those scavenging the battlefield claim that there's thrice that number of horses and Khanate soldiers.

By the next morning, the night scouts return and report: the Khanate riders are keeping their camp at a distance, and seem to be regaining strength. You tell your commanders that...

A) It is prime time to march on and attack the Khanate encampment!
B) You gotta rest and recuperate before another clash.
C) An envoy should be sent; you scored a victory against the Khanate already.

You give orders that swordsmen and archers and crossbowmen take defensive positions while the horsemen shall form your guard at the central tent.

By the next day, your scouts flee back into your camp, reporting massive numbers of horse archers moving form the northwest to come fight you, their own scouts seemingly having reported on your position.

Few hours later, the battle commences. The Khanate riders attack your centre and then spill neatly onto your two flanks, exchanging arrows and other projectiles with your men!

A lucky happerstance makes their rush on the left flank congested for a while, as up to a hundred of horsemen tumble over the bodies of their comrades.

Unfortunately that is not enough to stop the hordes, as your men fall down, with many arrows sticking out of their bodies.

And the rain of arrows continues...

The men at your centre scream in horror and flee their positions! An utter disgrace to the reputation of Luathbas army, but you have no time to curse them; the Khanate horse archers are spilling inside your protective circle. This is bad especially because some of the Khanates who went for the flanks are now rushing past your sides and will soon be harassing the soldiers at the rear as well.

A) Thin out flanks to patch the hole in the middle.
B) Send your horsemen guard to counter the Khanate charge.
C) Sally forth with your horsemen, hopefully upping the morale of others too.

You send out the orders; a call for emergency mobilization, recall of troops from the East and of course you proclaim that you will be joining your soldiers on the field of battle. The commanders all cheer.

Unfortunately your Army has little time to prepare; in three days there are sightings of the Khanate horde in the mid-way between the border and the Luathbas capital.

Your Army managed to cross into the Ulf Hills, a rugged region in the otherwise flat westlands. You talk with your commanders what you can do, because mobilization is not even started and the troops from Augas won't be here for at least another week.

A) Take a defensive position upon the hills.
B) Retreat to the capital and fortify ourselves there - horse archers can't bring down stone walls, right?
C) March and meet with the invading horsemen head-on.

You send him a letter in which you explain him how important it is for him to marry the Gubta princess.

However you don't get the reply fast enough; the reports come from the west.

"My liege! A horde of Khanate riders is running through our western fields, burning and pillaging all they can find!" The commanders quickly convene with you. There are few options worth considerating, like emergency mobilization, recall of troops from Augas...

As for the emergency mobilization...

A) It's an emergency, let's go with it.
B) No, we can do well without reservists.

As for recall of soldiers from Augas...

A) No, we gotta keep'em there in case Parsian Civil War spills over into our territory.
B) Recall is needed if we want to even the numbers in any way! Let's do it.

As for your personal attendance to the military campaign, your beloved Lord Asbach visited you earlier and said: "A flower of Luathbas royal family shouldn't risk himself. Trust in your soldiers." You decide that...

A) Asbach is definitely right.
B) He is kind, but you have a duty to perform!
