The current vote is about what yours half of Army will do. The home-half will do its best in meanwhile.

You return to besiege Khosra.

867 AD, Midsummer

A messenger arrives from Luathbas; your dearest wife have given birth to another daughter of yours. She named her Lynda.

Few days later your horsemen meet and defeat a small unit of Parsian Cataphracts. The armored Parsian horsemen couldn't win against Luathabs light horsemen numbering five times their own.

867 AD, Late Summer

As your Army prepares to hear the news of surrender of Khosra (as reports begin to leak outside about dire state of the garrison and the populace), a messenger arrives from Governor of Lauthbas.

"My liege! Parsians have moved through the mountains and are attacking Luathbas!"

"Surely the valley into Parsia was guarded by our outposts?" Asks one of commanders, but the messenger shakes his head.

"Nay! I said, through the mountains! These savage bearded axemen, masters of mountains, have led Parsian troops and commanders around the peaks, which must've taken them at least a month of time. That our scouts haven't seen them till the Parsians established camp, is pure bad luck! The governor's militia dealt them a small defeat but the Parsians are strong in numbers while Augasians are no match for them."

The commanders hold emergency council and many ideas are cast. Finall, it is time to decide...

A) Abandon the siege and march westwards to Augas in hurry to meet with the Parsians and defeat them before they do any damage.
B) Split the Army half-half and then go back to Luathbas while siege of Khosra shall continue.
C) Send horsemen to Augas while rest of the Army shall march to Parsia to capture the capital and win the day!
D) Leave a small detachment of people to maintain the siege while rest shall go and battle PArsians in Augas.
E) Negotiate with the garrison and popualce of Khosra to at least solve this issue for now.

You order the peasants taxed and larged amount of their rice be taken for selling.

2 Mai, Spring

Your wife Fi gives birth to a boy! She names him Nu, and he shall succeed you as Oh Nu when you finally join your ancestors.

Village elders from northwest of your Kingdom report that many woodcutters and game hunters are found deadly recently with their bodies partially devoured and their flesh torn about by some large claws.

"This must be the Tigermen, my liege!" Says one scribe.

"They are carnivorous and have a taste for the human flesh. We must slay them!"

"Nay, my liege!" Says other. "They've come because we neglected the Spirit of Fire! We must sacrifice a virgin maiden in a large bonfire, else the Tigermen will never leave!"

A) Ignore the two scribes and send an envoy to ask the Tigermen to leave.
B) Muster your soldiers to go forth and impale the beastmen on their spears!
C) Search for a virgin amongst the peasants and then burn her in a bonfire.

Your ARmy therefore lifts the siege and retreats westwards.

The Parsian soldiers easily enter the city with wagons of supplies and fresh troops and a throng of missileers and archers.

Your commanders curse under their breath before a new council is convened.

A) Resume the siege and starve them out.
B) Leave some troops to siege the city and lead the rest eastwards toward the Parsian heartlands.
C) Give up and return to Augas to regroup and think about the future course of action.

You agree to the offer and the girl is sent to your court in two weeks by the river after it calms down.

1 Mai, End of the Year

Your royal scribe brings to you the Bamboos of Kingdom Status.

Happiness: 7
Population: 5
Economy: 1!
Army: 4

The scribe bows deeply in fear.

"My liege, by the incompetence of all your subjects, the Treasury is suffering emptiness like the one in the soul of the God of Death! Mayhaps we should therefore tax the peasants higher to sell their rice for profits?"

A) Indeed, we shall tax them higher for a year.
B) No, we will find some other way to solve the fiscal crisis.

You begin a lenghty siege.

867 AD, Summer

Two weeks later, the city remains strong, the Parsian populace surely helping their soldiers the best they can.

Worse, the scouts report that a large unit of Parsians is approaching from the northeast, and few claim to have seen the shine of Cataphract armor from afar! Your commanders convene with you on how to deal with this situation, and you decide to...

A) Further split your Army and send half of it to attack the advancing Parsians.
B) Leave only a tiny part of Army to besiege the city (hopefully enough to stop the garrison from securing the countryside) and meet the advancing enemies.
C) Lift the siege and retreat westwards and see what the Parsians will do.

You spend the money from the Treasury to appease the distant Dang people and the River God.

Then you go to the market square of the capital city and fall to your knees, bemoaning (in truly theatrical spectacle) the fate of your poor people and the fact that you, their King, can do naught to help them.

Quote
5to6

The wave of public crying takes over your people and some are truly touched about your display of affection for your subjects! While it doesn't lessen the struggles of the homeless river-dwellers, at least people don't grumble about it.

1 Mai Year, Mid-Autumn

The Lord of Dang sends his sincere gratitude for your support as the money allowed procurement of building materials and rice for the people who lost their homes and families. As a sign of good will, he is willing to send his only daughter, Cha, to your court as your Concubine.

A) Aw yiss more ladies in my bed, sure!
B) Let's not make a harem right away, sorry!

You procure the foodstuffs for the starving people from neighbouring states, paying with the money from the royal coffers.

1 Mai Year, Autumn

The Great River have flooded this year, its volume increased by the heavy rainfall upstream and in the Western Mountains. Your own people suffer as the flooding river washed away their homes, their belongings and their children. You hear that the state of Dang in the west suffers as well. The royal officials all flock in front of your throne and bow to the ground, willing to hear how their heavenly King is going to solve this dilemma.

As for the suffering of your subjects...

A) Spend money from royal Treasury to rebuild houses and buy rations for the suffering people.
B) Cry publicly about their fate to show how much you are heartbroken to see their suffering.

As for the suffering of the Dang people...

A) Do nothing; they're not your subjects aka they're not your problem.
B) Dig in your Treasury to procure supplies for distant Dang to win their sympathies.

As for the flood itself...

A) Do nothing as nothing can be done about wrath of the River God.
B) Procure expensive jade and ceramic objects to sacrifice them to the Temple of River King, in hopes of soothing his anger with valuables.
C) Sacrifice your wife to the Temple of River King, so that she might try to soothe his fury with her service and singing.

//Remember, no split/incomplete votes!

The Army marches toward Khosra to besiege it.

In less the five days, and with no more Parsians to battle you in the field (except few raiding parties that were easily repelled), the fortified city of Khosra is in front of your army. The banner of Parsia flutters high above its citadel. Scaffoldings in some parts, spotted by your scouts, indicate that the Parsians were already busy making some hasty repairs to it.

A) ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK! Time to retake the city!
B) Wrap the city perimeter in your soldiers and force the enemy into surrender.
