You order most of yhe army to flank one of the hills andd the rest of the army to press against the front. You lead the main body of your forces.

The attempt goes quite awry! The arhcers greet your men with rain of arrows so thick its like a cloud on the sky. The main force which does the flanking doesn't do much better.

Unfortunately, even after another push it is obvious that- ARROWS!!

Few of your guards are perforated but fortunately no arrows reach you. You manage to pull out and retreat your forces.

Tvenians do not pursue, feeling quite safe on the hills. Your commanders do the tally and it seems that about eight hundred were lost.

They ask what now.

A) Onwards! The enemy might celebrate, but that will be their undoing!
B) Let's retreat a bit further south and make camp for the night.
C) Take defensive position and send the cavalry to the rear of the enemy encampments.

You march directly towards the capital and palace of Tven!

Four days later you receive the news that much larger army is marching to intercept you! It is about 2/3 of the size of yours; comprised mostly of spearmen and archers. Cavalry support minimal, yet they are taking on defensive position upon three closely placed hills.

A) Continue on and smash into them; we will prevail by tactical micromanagement and superior numbers!
B) Attempt to flank them with most of your army, the rest is to put pressure on their frontlines.
C) Stop in some distance from them and use cavalry attacks in an attempt to get them to break formation and leave the hills to counterattack your forces.

You take the army to besiege the fort while your horsemen are ordered to attack the advancing column.

You learn that their charge and attack from the woods caused some damage but most importantly caused the Tvenian troops to retreat!


After three weeks, the small garrison surrenders! This goes much better than any other Houlandine campaign so far.

A) Onwards, toward Tvenian capital!
B) Time to wreck some more havoc around the countryside!

Unfortunately due to your army being half-organized at the moment, you cannot deploy way till it is very Late Spring.

Week later, your army finally steps into Tvenian soil! The scouts report a singular fort, Kuvec Keep, is watching the valley connecting Luathbas to Tven and other northern lands.

A messenger from your cousin brings a letter; Sela have already begun conquest of Ruz and is on to meet their forces in the field.

The next day, as your army approaches the keep, the scouts bring that large contingent of Tvenian army is approaching from the north; it's comprised mostly of archers, especially longbowmen, with small supporting numbers of spearmen and light cavalry.

A) March toward the army; once we vanquish it, we can ponder what to do next!
B) Besiege the keep and send our own horsemen to deal with the approaching footsoldiers.

You send her a reply.

Week later she writes you a longer letter in which she details your the situation; the Kingdoms of Ruz and Tven, two of four minor nations that helped her mother during Luathbas Civil War by supplying mercenaries, are now plotting to form an alliance and then do some land-grabbing.

Your cousin, or rather, her husband, wouldn't like it to happen, and her husband therefore offers to stage a pincer attack; Luathbas strikes and absorbs Tven, that is the more southern of the two, and forces of Sela's husband, King of Dahnia, would do the same with Ruz.

She writes that time is of the essence; she needs to have your reply, and, your army, by the summer.

The previous raids by some northerners give you a reason to attack the two kingdoms... Kinda.

A) Agree to this cooperative venture and order the Army to march against Tven.
B) Reject her invitation and forget the whole matter.
C) Reject her invitation... and accidentally have her letter sent to one of your minor nobles that by pure coincidence has a wife from Ruz.
