The advisor goes inform the proper people of your decision.

The Plague is still present, but only in few settlements in the south that are kept under observation and restriction of movements.

847 AD, Midsummer

Governor of the Lametanian Province of Damdamian Republic, Hammus Maximus, have sent you a letter!

In the letter, he introduces his person by boasting about mighty deeds that his family have done across the centuries. He writes that he has replaced Magnus Parapetus as the governor after his predecessor's ten-year term has ended, and wishes for prosperity between people of Damdamia and Luathbas.

By the end of the letter, he also offers to lend you a battallion of their elite heavy infantry, for five years (he leaves that up to negotiation), in exchange for you accepting the Cult of Damed into the borders of Luathbas.

A) Accept the deal, albeit try to negotiate larger amount of time - 10 years, maybe?
B) Reply that you can agree to the deal but in exchange for some monetary compensation.
C) Reject the offer, citing whatever excuse you can come up with.

You order the officials to return with you to the capital; along with you, the victorious men from Lametania will finally come home as well.

A day away from the palace, you were accosted by some bandits; fortunately, the bodyguard was more than up to the task.

The Plague flares up with intensity in the southern parts of Luathbas; few hundred more fall victim to it.

As it stands now, there are only few villages affected in the kingdom, most of them in the south.

Scouts report that the Plague have reared its ugly head in the west for good; now it is the enigmatic Kiwis and their neighbours suffering.

Few days later, the advisor arrives with Scrolls of Kingdom Status. "I have managed to update them properly, sire. I'm not sure if that's a good thing, though..."

Happiness: 2
Population: 3
Economy: 5
Army: 1

The situation is more than dire at this point. The amount of your subjects was more than halved during the plague! And your army - where is your army!

"Sire, we cannot leave this as it is. The people's hearts are ridden with doubt and despair, and our borders are protected by fortresses which halls and corridors are empty of all but wind and dust. The revenues from the gold mining and Augasian trade routes at least have kept Treasury moderately intact. We should use that to our advantage at once, my liege."

A) "Yes, let's throw some festivals for the peasants so that they can cheer up after the dreaded disaster that befell our country."
B) "And we shall! Hire mercenaries from unaffected lands, if any, and we shall also host festivals to cheer people up!"
C) "Army is our greatest concern! Order recruitment of mercenaries around the Kingdom."

846 AD, End of the Year

The advisor visits you in your tiny office, with his hands empty.

"Where are your scrolls?" The advisor sighs at the question.

"Apologies, my liege, but with the state in which our Kingdom is currently, I wasn't able to even start on updating them this year."

You receive news that most of the country, depleted as it is, is not suffering from the Plague. Only few small areas in north and south are suffering, and the Plague itself seems to have moved westwards across the border, towards the Kiwi Empire and its numerous but small enemies.

Governors of the cities in the central region report that banditry is on the rise. They ask for the Crown to provide soldiers to strengthen the road patrols, decimated during the worst of the Plague's outbreak. As for the news of Plague...

A) Return to the capital at once, lest our Kingdom starts to collapse on itself in the aftermath of the Plague.
B) Remain in the eastern lands for few more months, just in case those few remaining spots flare up with new victims.

As for the bandits...

A) Do nothing.
B) Order troops from Augas to march west and strengthen the central lands.
C) Send your own bodyguard detail of a hundred to become road guards.

//No split votes, per usual.

You send a letter in which you ask him to release your soldiers and return them to Luathbas at once.

846 AD, Late Winter

You receive news from governor of Augas; the soldiers who assisted the Damdamians against the orcs have returned. He have decided to accomodate for them in Augas both to keep them away from plagued lands and to boost the security of the province at least a tiny bit. Also, the Parsian raids into Augas have ceased, for now.

Plague continues to reign over your country, killing people everywhere but in the east. A messenger from the north have brought terrible news; naught a Hurthling has been seen alive in past week, and some fear the little people have been destroyed.

846 AD, Later that evening...

You receive news from the manor's master of servants: the messenger who brought the news on Hurthlings is down with a fever.

A) Oh no, the Plague is here! Evacuate further east (to Augas) immediately!!
B) Let's not make rushed decisions... but be ready to flee if his fever develops into something worse.

As someone who never visits RTD area, I am curious. Doesn't this belong in it? Thanks for clarification.

It would be half-RTD, at best I think?

I don't use d6 all the time (and sometimes the rolls are contracted into smaller range of outcomes) and some options don't even necessite a dice roll at all.

Also, tied vote, again :I

You order him to keep it on the defense for now.

846 AD, Winter

You receive a letter; your brother Adagrast have succumbed to, and, few days later, perished of the Plague.

Quote

Maybe it is the weather that keeps people at homes, or maybe the gods of death and pestilence had their fill, as the plague seems to have lessened greatly in recent weeks in the north and west and central Luathbas; it is unfortunately in full swing in the south, felling children and adults and elderly by hundreds each day.

846 AD, Midwinter

Quote

The Plague continues, and the scarce reports from northern Luathbas indicate that few Hurthlings remain alive. The situation in the south also worsened in past few weeks.

Also, Magnus Parapetus have sent you a letter.

In the letter, he thanks you for the support from your army; the orcish hordes have been butchered and their lands salted; their livestock burned alive and their houses razed into dust. Never again anyone or anything from the mountainous region will thrive to harass the borders!

The Governor however does keep tabs on the plague ravaging Luathbas and therefore is offering to keep the remainder of your forces - over one thousand men - in Province of Lametania as guests.

A) Demand that they be returned to you around the southeastern mountains and then up through Augas.
B) Agree with his idea and ask him to accomodate the men in Lametania for the time being.

You, your wife, your son from the first marriage, your mother and grandmother plus few important officials, like the advisor, retreat eastwards to the estate of the governor of the city of Meorg.

846 AD, Autumn

Whie the central lands are faring quite well - the death count having not yet exceeded a thousand - the north have managed to outdo the western Luathbas in terms of deaths. Also, many of Hurthlings have fallen victim to the disease; whole farming settlements, full of little peoples and their robust families are now empty with unmarked graves surrounding them.

846 AD, Mid-Autumn

As the plague reaps more and more of your subjects, administration in the west is on verge of collapsing. This is going to hurt the economy a lot.

If conflicting and unproven reports are to be taken for truth, there has been 25.000 dead in Luathbas since the outbreak began, with almost half of the numbers in the north.

846 AD, Late Autumn

Your wife gives birth to a boy; she names him 'Tvadar'.

The Plague have 'spilled' into the populous, Southern Territories of Luathbas, messengers say. The death toll is ought to be worse than anything in previous months.

Governor of Augas reports that some Parsian raiding parties, belonging to one of the sons of the murdered King, have begun probing into the province's borders.

He is asking the Crown what to do about this matter; should he remain on the defense or mayhaps deploy a punitive expedition?

A) He has to sit tight, a single faction cannot and does not pose a large threat to the safety of the province.
B) Allow him to send raiders of our own to remind Parsians that we're not simply a land that can be raided with impunity!

You order medicine to be stockpiled in the central lands so that healers can work more efficiently once the plague truly starts around these parts.

You also order most important people to relocate somewhere. Such a precautionary measure won't upset the people, either.

"Sire, do we head towards Parsia, or Lametania?" Asks the Advisor as you pack your clothes.

A) "Towards Lametania in the south."
B) "East, towards Parsian border."

It was a close call for the plague vote but at least there was no tie.

You order the Army to march out and deal with the bandit horde.

They did quite well; many outlaws were slain, few managed to flee into the woods and the guy named Orach was beheaded and tossed to the ravens.

Unfortunately an outbreak of the damned plague have happened within the ranks of the returning soldiers, and many now suffer from the symptoms. Your order these men to stay in the northern provinces so that they do not bring the disease to the capital.

Meanwhile, you also deliver large amount of livestock for whole-burning and lots of wealth and valuables to the altars of the Pantheon gods.

846 AD, Midsummer

Quote

Did the Gods listen to the pleas of Luathbas people once their King sacrificed so much? Mayhaps, as fewer new victims are reported and the epidemic haven't yet spread towards the capital, or east, or south of the country.

Also, Magnus Parapetus writes again. He again praises your soldiers who were instrumental in defeat of the orcish hordes, he only expresses his slight dissappointment at the infighting that briefly broke out when Luathbas soldiers didn't want to participate in the ritual salting of the earth and butchering of livestock. The Governor fixed the fissure in the troops by paying Luathbas men some extra coin fo keep them docile.

846, Late Summer

Dire news arrive from the governor of city of Maenen,  which lies just a one day of travel westwards from your Palace: seventy people, if not more, from Maenen and surrounding villages are now suffering from the Plague!

The emergency council convenes again. Two issues are debated; one about efforts against the Plague, and one about safety of the court and royal family. As for the plague...

A) Acquire medicine and stockpile them in the central lands to prepare for escalation of the outbreak there.
B) Provide more sacrifices for the gods, asking them to to keep the dreaded disease from consuming more of your Kingdom.
C) Do nothing, because nothing can be really done.

As for the court and royal family...

A) Evacuate your Family and important administration officials eastwards or southwards, but the rest can stay.
B) Stay at the palace and fill the place with healers and medicine to prepare for the worst.
C) Abandon Luathbas capital and flee with entirety of the court somewhere else, finding a temporary new seat of the government.

//Remember, no split/partial votes pls.

What about that talk to our grandmother? We should protect our queen from disrepute at the court.

She was rather pointing out that H3 didn't get her pregnant because every other Houlandine so far got their wives pregnant on 'first try'... the dirty old lady was poking fun at Houlandin III's bedskills, basically, not calling his new wife barren and useless v;
