Okay so it's finally time for this post.

Life have caught up with the incredibly lazy Haspen (that's me), and therefore I will be definitely less and less actively on the forums and the #feftalk channel. It will also affect my ability to host FEFs.

Therefore, I am right now dropping FEF5; it got the nasty episode, some peoples aren't active enough/at all, and it's the best option of all 4 possible.

Unfortunately, if I will have to, FEF3 and FEF6 might also suffer the boot and get closed. These however will have proper closures aka enough plot and battlemaps to get some finish.

FEF4, while not being very far in terms of chapters, is actually in safest position because of excuse plot about macguffin collecting and just random worldjumping battlemaps.

On SPOOKS: Not gonna host the full game. Taricus and Tiruin both expressed thoughts about it, so they can grab the stuff and have fun if they want.

On GUNS! test: Not gonna make it either. Anyone who wants to use the GUNS! extended edition, be my guest, the whole thing is few pages back in this very thread.

You order you scouts to bring more information and maybe harass the enemy units a bit.

The next morning you get terrible information - a fresh enemy force is marching from the south, with lots of supply wagons in the centre! The entire force is about the size of the previously fought army at Aidach, and there is a banner of foreign swordsmen (albeit crossbowmen banner wasn't spotted). It will be at Felonsein no later than by the noon.

Your military commanders curse under their noses. The siege could have been easily broken yesterday...

A) "Attack enemy camps anyways, we still might have time!"
B) "Advance to meet with the army before it joins the camping units!"
C) "Find a better defended position and prepare for a pitched battle!"

You order the army to march out and go for Felonsein to break the siege.

831 AD, Midsummer

In less than a week, you, and your forces, arrive at Felonsein plain. Scouts report that the castle is surrounded by camps of the Lametanian forces. There is little evidence of siege engines being constructed or already assembled, albeit the fortress itself has badly damaged towers and holes in topmost crenellations.

At least the Luathbas banner is still fluttering from the top of the keep.

A) "This is our moment! All forces are to spread out and raid the shit outta the Lametanian scum!"
B) "March forward and prepare for battle!"
C) Wait while scouts and horsemen get information and/or harass some supply wagons or other easy targets.

//Peeps been changing votes so much either for lulz or for serious raisins that I decided to ditch all but 3 last ones, which gives us A as victorious option.

The meager cavalry units an some archers were sent against the approaching siege force.

The raid was a success! Queen's siegers were routed and the abandoned wagons - full of timber, food and weapons - were added to the warehouses at House of Lech!

However, a distressed messenger have arrived the same afternoon; Queen Alexandra's force returning from the Battle at Aidach Fields have changed directions to besiege the strategically important, but not particularily large, Felonsein Keep.

"If this fort was to fall, the Queen would have easy entry into our Kingdom and free hand to raid the heck outta our peasants down south, my liege!" The Marshal explains.

A) Prepare to march out! We will break the siege of Felonsein!
B) Prepare to march out! ...but instead to Felonsein, we shall head to Lametania itself!!
C) With our recent victory and the new supplies, we can instead build up our forces here, at House of Lech, for next week weeks!

You order the army to march back to House of Lech.

Less than a week later, you get bad news - a new army is approaching from south-west! It seems that Queen Alexandra have sent forces to besiege House of Lech. Scouts report that it is mostly infantry; archers, spearmen and the likes, with lots of supply wagons and some cavalry as supporting force.

A) Ha! An easy target, that. Send our forces at once!
B) Let's wait at House of Lech and see how the situation develops.

You put on your helmet, lift up your mace, and CHAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRGGEEE!!!

Quote
7!*

You smash against the enemy horsemen with your own cavalry guard, and then wreck the Lametanian faces! Your momentum carries you and your troop through the dispersed enemy horsemen and against the flank of the heavy infantry!

Your mace brushes against their collarbones and heads and necks, and you can see heads flying off at the mere scratches inflicted. This caused the disciplined, but already tired, foreign infantry to panic and rout as well!

Bards would later sing 'a new God of War was born on that battlefield'.

The stubborness of your troops as well as your valiant charge have convinced Queen Alexandra's commanders; Lametanian retreat horns were heard soon afterwards!

Your army received heavy casaulties, however, and there is no way they can pursue to cut down the fleeing enemies. Your Fomorian Guard in particular was destroyed, with the few surviving giants all wounded and crippled. The Hurthlings, being ranged troop and all, got off easy this time.

The commanders hail their victorious King and ask you to decide something; return to House of Lech to recuperate and reinforce, or rest here and tomorrow march after the enemy to the southern border?

A) Retreat to House of Lech; we need to be in best shape if we are to fight against hordes of Queen Alexandra on equal footing.
B) Rest here, and by tomorrow we will go on the offensive; we have to make this victory truly count!

You tell your Fomorians to go smash some skulls on the flank, and they happily confirm orders with loud roars.

Unfortunately for you, and them-

"More non-humans!! KILL THEM ALL!"

-this only infuriates the foreign heavy infantry of Queen Alexandra!

Quote

This ends very badly to the Fomorians and your flank, which are beaten and broken, and many of the hair hulking giants do not stand up after being felled.

You don't have time to deploy orders cuz that small unit of horsemen moves away from the infantry and begins a charge towards your position!!

A) Roll the banner down cuz it's time to FLEEE!
B) It is Murder Time! CHAAAARRGEEEE!!

You send in the cavalry!

The crossbowmen turn back and abscond while a small unit of spearmen moves forward to protect them!

Quote
4*

This doesn't stop your cavalry from smashing into the spearmen and crossbowmen alike! They suffer some casaulties.

The battle progresses with the melee, with the frontlines and Hurthlings doing their best to keep the armored infantry at bay, as your cavalry managed to succeed in its task, then retreat and regroup.

Currently, this battle is leaning towards your victory.

Unfortunately, not that much later, another unit of heavy infantry, with some cavalry mixed in, is spotted advancing from the rear of Queen's formations to attack your right flank!

A) Time to move our Hurthling slingers there!
B) Let them meet the formidable Fomorians!
C) Just thicken the flank with our reserves.

Such a defensive action prompts Lametanian cavalry and their heavy foreign swordsmen to attack!

The swordsmen advanced with their javelins drawn, then throw them from a distance before wielding their swords and attacking with the cavalry storming from the left flank. Then, once the foreigners seem to notice the Hurthling slingers and your Fomorian guard at the rear, start with war cries:

"Purge the non-humans!"

"Death to traitors of the Father!"

Quote
4*

The charge causes some casaulties amongst your men, but the enemy charge quickly losses its impetus, and descends into heavy melee situation with the foreigners and your spearmen and axemen killing each other in droves.

Unfortunately, during that time, the unit of Alexandra's allied crossbowmen managed to reach the flank of your army, comprised mostly of infantry!

Quote
2*

Their mighty mechanical bows shoot deadly bolts, scoring one dead Luathbas soldier per one projectile.

"Sire! Our flank shall collapse if we do not supply it with soldiers able to counter these crossbowmen!"

A) Send in the Fomorian Guard; it is small but Fomorians are damn tough, they might just reach the crossbowmen and wipe them out!
B) Send in the Hurthlings, they're small, agile, and can kill enemies with their shots just as well!
C) Send in a spare formation of Luathbas infantry; they will overpower the enemy with numbers!
D) Send the Luathbas cavalry in a glorious, blindingly-fast charge.
