You tell him that you do not know what a powerful Wizard like him might want, and therefore ask him to name the price.

"And I shall name it. Far north of your little Kingdom, lies a mountain, Summit of Venoms, a treacherous place, and a nest of rainbow lizards. They sometimes grow a fang made of onyx-like stone, and that is powerful catalyst of magics. If I were to receive such a rare tooth, I would consider that a fair payment."

You promise to have men sent there, but he interrupts you.

"Nay, YOU shall go and bring it. It is not just the fang itself I want, but I want also to assess your courage, your determination and your heart. Show me that you are indeed worthy of my aid." After some internal discussion, you decide to...

A) Agree to the demand and venture forth, alone, to obtain this rare Onyx Fang of a Rainbow Lizard.
B) Reject this demand as you have a Kingdom to rule and responsibilities to fulfill.

You order the Army to go and punish the Fomorians for their crimes.

Quote
4*

The Army reports a victory, but the Fomorians were fearsome during the battle, especially their chainmail-covered, huge-axe-wielding Queen, not to mention several Fomorians coated in tatoos made with woad who caused the earth to open up under people to swallow them alive. The battle caused over thousand of casualties amongst the troops and a loss of two hundred mounts.

Nonetheless, the savages in the end fell before the might of your Army, which managed to slaughter each and every one of them.

821 AD, Midwinter

A seven feet tall, elderly man in white hooded robe, strange jewellery and raven-black beard demands an audience with you. People say that one of his eyes is blue and unmoving, other is green and that motes of light are swimming in that green one.

You allow the wizard into your throne room.

"I heard that this earthly domain requires of me services." His voice sounds raspy and gives you chills on your spine for some arcane reason. "Speak, you."

You explain the whole deal with dwarven tomb, their curse, and your problems with stillborns.

"You hath angered them, silly king, you should be actually praising the dwarves that a bodily curse is all that befell on you." He smirks at you, patting his beard. "Ah, but dwarven magic is black magic, and I do happen to know how to dispel black magics and curses of both gods and mortals alike. How shall you pay for me services, oh troubled liege? I shall say that I do not need your riches, because as you can see, I travel with naught but things I wear on meself."

A) You offer him a place in your court for how long he wants, and access to all the luxuries he would ask for.
B) -
C) You offer him a Ducal title and ownership of a city, and even autonomy from your rule and freedom from taxation, if he so desires.
D) You do not know what to offer him, and therefore ask him to name his price.

You send an envoy, with a bodyguard detail.

Quote

After few days you receive a report that the envoy got his head bitten off.

A) That's it! Send the Army in to deal with those murderous brutes!
B) He had none of your charisma, so let's go personally and try diplomacy again.!

A walled-off tomb has been discovered! Alas, besides very old stone sarcophagus, some old ceramics and tons of dust, there's nothing of value here.

A traveling wizard was chanced upon by one of minor nobles in the south, and he was told that the Crown is seeking help from a wizard. He will be - or at least, should be - coming your way soon.

821 AD, Winter

Urgent report fron the northwest! A tribe of savage Fomorians have came through the forests and is currently gobbling up livestock of some poor villages they've sacked!

The advisor lectures you that the Fomorians are tall, ugly humanoids that eat raw meat (sometimes not being picky about the source), travel in large families, that they like to fight and just very, very rarely, can be reasoned with. You decide to...

A) Have the Army march forth and get rid of the stinky savages.
B) Send an envoy in hopes of negotiating with them.
C) Personally venture to meet with their leaders in hopes of solving this peacefully.!

You tell them that they're not welcome to spread their religion here and they should spread their influence somewhere else.

"Ah, if you say so, noble King." They all touch their triangles, bow their heads, and then leave.

And then you have those FUCKING RAT-BASTARDS who come along and yoink the entire accumulated cash amount with one little sneeze...

Of course, all city guards are on the other side of the town, all nearby heroes resting at an inn and not bothering to leave, and moments later, just by pure accident, the ratman is killed by a watchtower which means all the money is lost.

Scribes put up posters asking for a wizard to appear with haste at the court for a quest of utmost importance.

Quote

None shows up this time, though.

821 AD, Summer

A group of strange persons appears at your court. They wear frilly, colorful garments, and each wears a silver triangle, on a string, around their neck. They also have dark hair and rather olivey complexion.

"Greetings, noble sire. We come from far to the south. We are the Pilgrims of Damad, the God of Humans. Our cult wishes to introduce our beliefs to your noble, hardworking, humble peoples of the north. Therefore, we wish to ask you for a permission to do so."

A) Allow them to spread their religion in Luathbas; it was always a politheistic nation so extra deity in the pantheon won't make a difference.
B) Tell them to leave and spread their influence outside Luathbas.

11969
"Main entrance it is."

Then Captain Astleich ventured in with Iris, and few managed to enter as well, one by one, vary of people waiting inside, when suddenly...

The entrance was blocked with a sliding wall!

//Arnold Weissmuller, Althra Entlern, Siegfried Jubastacheit, Gregory Zecklin, Flora Brandt and Friderick von Heinrich are currently not active!

"!" The Captain looked at the wall briefly, but then a voice came from the corridors.

"Heh, ye be really stupid." Some thugs, carrying lanterns which light reflected against the glossy surfaces of the catacombs meaning that this area wouldn't suffer from fog-of-war conditions, drew weapons.

"And you are?"

"Heh! You ask too many questions for your own good, mister Astleich."

"..."

Defeat the enemies and investigate the catacombs!
