Update 8: Nuclear Holocaust is Not Yet Here?

Our cruise missile lands in Shangtu, just as Zulus threaten us with Nuclear Weapons and then declare war on us.
I also discover that I actually cannot make nukes; I forgot about the hidden requirement of Nuclear Fission, the basis for Manhattan Project. Crap.

Next turn there is no nukes raining on us but Zulus capture 3 Mongol cities at once.
Now at 1955AD: Zulus capture another Mongol city. Still no nuclear rain upon us. Mongols and Zulus also get Laser by this year. RIP our nuking plans.

Next year Mongols formalize the war against us; Ormuz garrison had to repel 3 Tanks and a Mechanized Infatry unit, while our Jet Fighter almost died intercepting 2 sorties of Bombers.
...
. . .
1958AD: Continuous conventional land-based attacks from Mongols against Ormuz are all repelled. No nukes, albeit many border cities change hands between Zulus and Mongols, as our embassy reports.

Oh god. ICBMs. Nukes with 26 range. God help us all.
Also Konigsberg's adjacent fort gets hit by wave of 4 Bombers, wow.

This brave Jet Fighter spent all its fuel destroying those 4 Bombers, then a stack of Tanks, and 2 pieces of Artillery before it crashed in the plains outside Kazan.
Unfortunately next turn there's another set of Bombers (three) attacking Konigsberg directly and we barely hold the city.
By 1963AD, we still hold pretty well, repelling AEGIS Cruisers, Tanks and Bombers, and not a single Nuke was detonated.
One of our tanks, using a gap in Mongol defences and the exploit of infinite movement via railroads scouted the interior of Mongol empire. You can see its rather vast. Karakorum is its capital, and its kinda small, all things considered.

Such pop-ups occur every turn.

Our diplomat enters Kabul and steals this tech. Meanwhile, Zulus captured 3 Mongol cities in span of 5 years, getting as close as 5 tiles away from Mongol capital of Karakorum.

Next year Aztecs pop up to say 'hi' and trade a tech. I gladly agreed.
A bit of lul in aggression and we manage to steal Espionage.

And Nuclear Power!

It seems that our intelligence services are doing quite well :3
So I decided that it's time to try something drastic.

Aw I hoped it would be slightly less risky.
So we went to Nishapur and...

It is now 1980AD.
