You move to check the sensor console.

You cannot do active sensor check of the vessel but passive readings indicate it is at least twice larger in volume and size than your entire outpost. It's slowly moving on the route from Poseidonis to Gamma Urquanii Jump Gates.

Could be a Federal Police Corvette, or it could be an ore-laden Superfreighter.

Or a Pirate Galleon - you never know these days.

A) Ping'em!
B) Don't ping'em!

1352
You open the manuals on different directory and get to reading.

1236USY.2d/1m.1005h

In middle of reading through some planetary outpost listings, you suddenly get pinged by the security console.

Its not a standard alarm, so you surmise something has entered and is in transit through Beta Carotenii.

A) Ehhhh, probably not worth my time.
B) Potential customers? Potential customers!

1353
You decide to check maintenance stuff.

Security console in meanwhile informs you that Sails of Darkness have evacuated the docking slot and begun its trek towards Poseidonis Jump Gate. You also note that the luxury liner has departed long ago, but apparently you didn't hear the notification ping.

You go through the maintenance on the station - all stuff that was broken and you decided not to repair, well, remains broken and un-repaired.

A brief check on sensors station reveals that nothing wrong was with IFF translation module. Rather, it was Sails of Darkness that was actively preventing its IFF beacon from being translated by custom encryption settings, something that is illegal under New Galactic Federation Space Laws.

What now?

A) More bartending lore!
B) More Captain Zirconius!
C) Just pass the time!

1354
You resume reading the bartending manuals and encyclopedias inside the memory core.

Where were you... ah yes!

1236USY.2d/1m.0907h

You learn that many humans, especially those born and raised in space, have trouble distinguishing some flavors and scents of synthols. They have biggest problem with distinguishing between a 'fruity' and a 'sweet' flavor, often mistaking them for each other. This is not the case when obnoxiously sweet synthols like Sucrosol and Dee Tee are involved, but many confuse Skinjuice for Grenadiere, and vice versa, or finding 'fruity and sweet' combination to be extra sweet. Humans are strange.

What's next on the agenda?

A) More bartending lore!
B) More Captain Zirconius!
C) Maybe some maintenance?
D) Just pass the time!

1355
You decide to hail the incoming ship.

There's no response, so you try again.

Again, they do not respond, however...

IFF beacon data received from "Sails of Darkness", a Melchior-class Armed Merchantship.

Weapon signature deepscan completed: 0 active weapons found.

Docking request received.

Docking Airlock assigned: #4 (authority: Automated Refueling AI)

Estimated arrival time: 4 minutes.

When the console informs you that Sails of Darkness have docked, you return to the bar.

Evangeline puts down the empty tank glass and turns to look at the main gate, her hands hidden in her sleeves.

The main gate opens, and a young man slick black hair and a sharp goatee enters, a flowing fur robe similar to Evangeline's hiding his body. He approaches your guest and bows his head.

"Hello, Evangeline."

"Hello, Hamak. Are we ready to go?" The young man smiles and extends his hand towards the gate. The two exchange whispers on the way there, and after some time, 'Hamak' turns to look at you with an angry glare.

He doesn't say anything, though, and soon the main gate closes behind them.

A) I want my copy of Black Bible, dangit! After them!
B) Oh, hey, I'm free of the weirdo. Time to get back to reading on fruity smells and stuff!
C) Oh, hey, I'm free of the weirdo. Time to read some Captain Zirconius!
D) Finally, I can clean the bar and pass the time in peace.

1356
You pass the time.

1236USY.2d/1m.0822h

Suddenly, security console starts pinging you. Giving Evangeline a stare - she occupies her seat, staring at nearly empty Seaside Paradise - you leave your post.

Arriving at the command room, you check the console...

Sensors Station Alert! IFF beacon translation in progress...

Retrying...

...

Unable to translate IFF beacon.

Beginning deepscan of approaching vessel for active weapon signatures...

In the meanwhile, several foreboding buttons lit up in your face on the console, giving you several options.

A) Turn the weapons control online!
B) Hail the approaching ship!
C) Do nothing.
D) Send a distress call!
E) Retry IFF beacon translation!

1357
Hm ;vc

1358
That's mostly ElfCollaborator :P

For me, if your character is decent, a paragraph of bio is enough.

1359
You ask Evangeline if she wants something sour to drink.

The cultist lady glares at you.

"No."

A) Just pass the time until her friends arrive, it should be soon.
B) Give her an earful over her lunatic behavior.
C) Demand an explanation behind her actions.
D) Apologize for interruption, explain you signed documents to protect her from harm.

1360
You summon the priests of love to the palace for a talk.

In a side chamber, with your wife in ashamed attendance, you question the priests if there's a way out of this that keeps your reputation and allows your wife to pursue her lady-lovin'.

The wise men and women of the clergy discuss this for a while.

"My liege!" Says one of them. "If she were but a lowlyborn, this would be non-issue; or if she were unmarried, this would be non-issue; if she weren't part of a ruling dynasty, which needs heirs, this would be-"

"My friend, but our liege already has a heir. Several, in fact!" Says the priest of family hearth, and the priestess of childbirth nods in agreement: "Aye, our lord and liege has had his family requirements fulfilled by the deceased Queen Milka, and for this there is no doubts." The priests murmur and nod to each other.

"Marriage is sacred, but of course affairs are not unheard or uncommon." Says the priest of matrimony, rubbing his chin. "Divorce! That is the correct choice. That, or your Majesty weathers the gossip of the affair. As your Queen is fancying a woman, there's no dire fear of bastard children by a lesser man, so at least the worst of three infidelities will be avoided, sparing most of the shame." Other priests look at each other or nod their heads, seemingly agreeing with this assessment.

A) "Fine then! Let the rumors run their course, and I will repair that which will be damaged by them."
B) "Fine then! Call for the Advisor, a divorce contract must be written at once!"

1361
You decide to override control panel safeties and stop the outer airlock.

Quote

Be it adrenaline moment or blind luck, you quickly override the inner airlock safeties and manage to disengage manual control of the airlocks from the level of this computer panel. With a hiss, the inner airlock opens and warning lights turn off - the outer airlock #6 remains closed.

Evangeline turns to you with a scowl on her face.

"I wished to see Rag again, but now the chance is lost." She scoffs and returns with you to the bar.

1236USY.2d/1m.0730h

Evangeline sits at the counter and grabs the Seaside Paradise, taking a sip. She looks very nonplussed.

A) Demand an explanation behind her actions.
B) Give her an earful over her lunatic behavior.
C) Ask if she wants something sour to drink.

1362
You leave the console and run for Southern Docking Ring.

1236USY.2d/1m.0725h

You arrive at the South Wing's inner airlock just in time to see Evangeline take off the casing of the panel used to control outer airlock #6.

The computer panel next to you informs you that inner airlock door has been locked because one of the outer airlocks (the sixth) is about to open to vacuum of space.

You see Evangeline raise and extend her arms sideways in some sort of gesture.

A) Bang on the door and ask her to return to the bar area.
B) Attempt to quickly override the control panel safeties and forcibly prevent the outer airlock from opening.

1363
You go back to sensors console and switch to internal mode. You find out that there are three cameras; one in main hall, above your bar, one outside the main entrance, sweeping across all four wing access corridors, and a third in the personnel area, overlooking the kitchen and the entrances to the bar area and to the command center, where you're in now.

Evangeline doesn't show on any of these, so you check motion sensors - aha! She just entered through inner airlock of Southern Docking Wing. You observe the blip on the motion sensor and realize she is approaching the outer access panel, controlling the airlock doors.

A) Is the intercom working? Maybe I should try calling out to her?
B) I need to get to the Southern Wing as soon as possible!
C) Let's observe the motion sensor a little longer.

1364
You go check the sensors.

There's no ships on approach to the station, so you ping the system in search for ships passing through the system on non-direct course, but can't find any.

On a hunch, you then scan the vicinity of the station for non-moving ships... and also find nothing.

Confused, you return to the bar.

Evangeline is gone! You could swear you didn't hear her leave, though.

A) Search the main hall.
B) Check the outside of main hall and the corridors leading to docking wings.
C) Check the personnel-only areas and your quarters.
D) Go back to sensor console, there should be some monitoring system on station.

1365
You decide to pass the time.

1236USY.2d/1m.0720h

"It is time." Evangeline says suddenly, her orange drink barely touched, and shifts on her seat, looking around for... something.

You follow her eyes, trying to understand her sudden bout of activity.

A) Ask what she is looking for.
B) "For another drink?"
C) Go check sensor console.
