The moment Fezz touched the skull, it tilted sideways. Then it fell off the throne and shattered, revealing a dark blue-purple stone, of size of half a fist, looking as if it was once a piece of something larger. The artifact was brimming with ancient power, and it was giving Fezz just a slight headache.

Reborn Khanate:

This time only small, bloodless territorial gains are made while the Khanate tries to put some mor effort into scientific expansion.

Ottoman Empire is thankful for Belgian blueprints.

However the Sultan grows weary of having his nation being treated like a passerby on a peddler's market and therefore refuses Khanate's alliance proposal and also discards the alliance treaty with the Belgians. Their armies are now being escorted behind the Ottoman borders.

The throne was made of granite, layered with brass and adorned with obsidian pieces.

Compared to royal thrones and such decadent furniture found in castles and palaces, this throne was rather modest.

There was also a small black skull on top of the throne's back.

@Alec:

Alec didn't find much, besides bunch of sheets of papers.

They were so burnt, wet and mangled that any text was unreadable at this point. The recent dip of Matilda's body in acrid goo didn't help their condition either.
