You can go wild with skills and whatnot to help me test as much combat system as possible; the enemies are weak and you will be healed after the fight so there's no need to hold back.

The doors of the buildings have opened. From sheds, houses, pig pens and stables, humanoid zombies began to slowly shamble toward the group! Their low moans intensified when they smelled flesh and blood, and their extended arms clearly pointed at Elizabeth and her companions.

Unfortunately most of the zombies poured onto the main road, blocking easy access to the church.

Fortunately, the zombies moved like turtles in molasses. For now, only four of them were near enough to threaten the group.

Welcome to zombie-ridden Wallachian Countryside, oh noble Associates!


The church's door opened with a creak and someone's head peeked out, only for the person to hide and the door to close with a thud a second later.

The group began their march.

The road was winding between the trees for only few lengthy minutes, before a somewhat idyllic village came up in the view. Established in middle of a clearing in the forest, there was a sparkly stream quietly rushing from northwest to northeast. The fields, barren of course so early in the year, were freshly ploughed for some reason.

And there was silence. Foreboding, empty silence. Not a cow did moo, not a laughter was heard from inside the village. No smoke was rising from the chimneys despite the fact it was clearly midday meal time.

The church was standing somewhere to the side and near the stream.

For some reason, large white crosses were painted on its walls, and few wooden crosses were surrounding it.

The coachman was found rather easily. They did offer a ride far north, and didn't say a word about the stop at the crossroads. Sixty Thirty prieste was spent on the ride.

About an hour later, the carriage was slowly going through a dark spruce forest, following a dirt road north. Rarely a bird would chirp and all the noise that was produced came from clattering of the old carriage and it's badly done wheels.

Then the carriage stopped and the coachman knocked on the wall of the carriage.

"There we are, the crossroads to Szőrcsuha." He said and nodded toward a smaller dirt road. There was a moldy signpost pointing in the direction of that offshoot but the writing was unintelligible.

Beryn finally could take a closer look at the silhouettes.

Those were snakewomen.

Nothing like these was ever seen on any of the Continents. The snakewomen had long shaggy hair, quite large breasts, and from waist below they had large snake tails, thick and probably quite powerful if using for coiling and crushing. They were busy playing some game; in turns, each was tossing two small objects, which resembled dice; only with small nubs and spikes instead of dots. The hissing and laughing probably came from the loser and the victor, respectively.

They were passing time... guarding Ethan, Prata and Apura! The wyvern and the horse were wrapped in thick vines, and were taking awfully little space for their size. The horse's legs must be bent at painful angle, and the wyvern's wings must be painfully wrapped around him. Ethan was wrapped in the vines as well.

Both mounts and the Captain weren't moving, so they might be dead.

Or, hopefully, just uncounscious.
