You call the army to march back south.

807 AD, Few days afterwards

You join forces with the soldiers besieging Consiert. A war council gathers, and two thoughts on fighting emerge - one calls for the entire army to move south and take a defensive position, other to march north and attack King of Gon before he can enter or approach the city of Consiert, and give the defense hope.

A) The first idea is better! Once we have the higher ground, Gon will have to surrender!
B) The second idea is better! Once we destroy the King of Gon, no one will stop us!
C) We ought to first try and persuade the defenders of Consiert to surrender, giving us an advantage!

You attempt to remember what you've forgotten.

1236USY.1d/1m.1433h

A muddy image of a horizon on fire, people screaming, people talking, metal package in your hands.

Pinging from the sensor console interrupts your rememberance of nonsense, however.

A) Keep on remembering.
B) Check the pinging.

1563
You delve deeper into your memorybanks and cybernetic interface, interacting with your brain via datapad.

1236USY.1d/1m.1402h

You can recall the overall memories of your chilldhood, teenage and young adult years. Yet there are specific blocks that are simply... missing.

You're neither a cyberneticist nor a psychiatrist, but you can assume its mental trauma or damage to your circuitry, either of which should be impossible in such an advanced mind-machine interface like yours.

A) Run the diagnostics once again just to be sure.
B) Keep that in mind for later.
C) Try to remember what you've apparently forgotten.

The enemies launched their attacks from behind the wall! The blast of magic was inaccurate - the arrow hit its mark, sending Cecilia to the floor!

You return to your quarters, undress and lay down on the bed, plugging the datapad into your neck socket.

1236USY.1d/1m.1350h

Your flesh has been designed from scratch to be impervious to imperfections and ugly marks.

Your mind has been designed to operate alongside a biochip and wetware computer to ensure that whatever your flesh is unable to solve or remember, the artificial memory banks and microprocessors will.

You theoretically need no food, but nutrient sludge and liquid vitamins do keep your body healthy and operating at maximum capacity. Speaking of food; you leave the bedroom for a moment to plug your feed-tube into the food delivery system. The hissing of the sludge being pumped into your stomach sounds so alien every time you feed.

Returning to your bedroom, you view your memories in the back of your head; your childhood on the agrarian planet Delta Taurii IIa as a farming drone, your flight from it and placement on the Las Palmas Manufacturing Station during your teen years, and then forced conscription into Delta Taurii System Defense Forces, where you spent most of your time moving ammunition and rations from one ship to another onboard the orbital dockyard.

Everything is in perfect order. No memory blockades or losses, no internal or external problems, no illnesses or troubling changes in your organic components.

And yet...

A) Delve deeper into the complex network of flesh and electronics.
B) Time to learn more about the station's secrets, if there's any.
C) I can pass time by checking out the Captain Zirconius series.

You split your forces; two thousand shall encircle the city of Consiert, while the remaining - totalling three thousand - will march with you northwards.

807 AD, Few days later

Your army doesn't even cover quarter of the distance between Consiert and capital city, when the scouts sent northwards return in a hurry.

"My liege! My liege! The King of Gon has saved Gunnieva from the peasant mob! Hearing about our invasion, he has already garrisoned the capital and is marching south!" Your commanders, both Bailemarrian and south-Gonian, grimace and murmur.

"How many troops does he have?"

"We weren't able to ascertain, but our humble estimations would place his numbers at equal or larger than what is with Your Highness at the moment. We saw a lot of mounted soldiers, as well, at least a thousand." Your officers sit down around you for a much needed war council.

A) "A splendid opportunity! Imagine the chaos if we personally kill King of Gon and disperse his main army! Onwards, lets meet him in field battle!"
B) "We ought to return to the besieged city of Consiert - I would rather have at least slight number advantage when the banners of Gon show up."

You accept the arms and men of the southern cities. From there, you march a bit more northernly.

807 AD, Next week

An opportunity for the combined forces to test their skills! A young nobleman, not willing to listen to offer of surrender and good treatment, is challenging the 'vile invaders from the filthy east'.

He has two thousand men, half militia, half well-trained axemen and archers. However, only a handful of horsemen, definitely his bodyguards. You therefore apply the same flanking attack you did before, as the enemy cannot counter it.

5*

Be it difference in dialects, untested chain of command or simply arguments between commanders from two kingdoms, its obvious that the initial stage of battle could've went better.

Still, the enemy is massacred and only a handful have escaped! The young nobleman's body was recovered after he perished during a last-ditch charge that failed just miserably.

807 AD, Summer

Little towns and farming hamlets surrender to your combined army, until you finally reach the walled city of Consiert, one of the biggest in Kingdom of Gon. Its governor refused to surrender, and the towers and walls are bristling with archers. No doubt hundreds or maybe thousands more defenders are within the city itself.

Further north, lies the central territory of Gon, with its capital of Gunnieva.

A) Let's split our forces, leaving some of it to besiege Consiert.
B) Let's besiege the city. We have supplies and access to more - they do not!
C) Maybe we can take the city using less honorable methods?
D) Maybe our new allies can help? Surely they have friends inside that would listen to reason?
E) This is not the city we're looking for - let's bypass it!

You pass the time by reading some bartending lore.

1236USY.1d/1m.1148h

You learn the history of Synthols; the very first 'true' Synthol produced was Sucrosol, but it was too sweet and too artificially-tasting. It took several years to perfect the liquid replication technology, and by that time, Sucrosol's chemical formula changed several times. Its current form is about four times less sweet than original, apparently.

1236USY.1d/1m.1218h

It doesn't surprise you that the stories you've heard about Jet synthols being derived of aeronautic vehicle fuel are true. It was a bootlegger's recipe that gained fame (and notoriety for toxicity) that prompted the old Galactic Federation to first control, and then ban the production. SRC managed to synthetize the old drink while removing almost all of its toxicity, now called Dry Jet, and even came up with the sweeter variant, Wet Jet.

1236USY.1d/1m.1223h

You can't find anything especially interesting.

You shudder - is this how majority of your time will be spent? Milling about in boredom while waiting for potential client?

Hopefully not.

A) Got some time to explore myself!
B) Maybe there's still something to find on the station!
C) Got some time to read those old stories stored in station databanks!

You ping the tiny spaceship.

The sensors show you that it slows down for a while, then resumes course at full-speed.

Oh well.

What now?

A) Got some time to explore myself!
B) Maybe there's still something to find on the station!
C) Got some time to read on bartending lore!

1573
We totally don't have resources or skilled bolds to play with magic. Exploring more stuff would be good, in the meanwhile.

AC

1574
You decide to roam about the station.

1236USY.1d/1m.1118h

You don't find anything interesting or unusual this time.

You have to end your roam as you hear the distinct pinging of the security console. You return to the command room and check the report.

A very small, one-person craft is zipping in a line from Eta Coridani to Poseidonis Jump Gate.

It is SRC policy to not scan passing craft, only those on intercept course for the station...

...your communications console could, however, ping them with an invitation for drinks.

A) Nothing wrong with a ping, they might've decide they're thirsty after all!
B) Eh, not gonna bother with just one potential patron.

1575
You try to fix the discos.

Quote

Your attempt to fix the discos worked splendidly! Electronic and synth music starts playing, and inspecting the command console power flow made you realize that there's a way to bypass the neon lights, allowing you to disconnect them from the main power conduit of the bar hall.

You jury-rig the bypass, and the main hall is flooded with white and light blue lights. The neons are still busted, their shattered curves looming over the bar like a specter, and the station corridors are still on auxiliary reds, but at least the main venue is again in working condition.

You make a mental note not to tinker further with the power system, lest the bypass itself also fails.

What now?

A) Got some time to read on bartending lore!
B) Got to kill the time by exploring the station!
C) Got some time to explore myself!
