@Tombraiders:

"Unacceptable." The dead Emperor spoke quietly, projecting nausea and bout of chill onto the three, but then he calmed down.

"Then I assume this boy here is not an Imperial Heir or something. Which is strange because the blood is pure." He moved to Julius and reached with his left hand to touch the scavenger's hair. Julius, on other hand, could feel extremely dreadful chill freezing his scalp.

"And even hair color matches..." The Emperor took his hand away, not wishing to accidentally kill his far descendant.

"Next question will be, hmm..." he rubbed his ghastly chin, thinking about it for a moment. Then he snapped his ethereal fingers, producing an actual, audible snap.

"How about that small cult. They worshipped a dragon of some kind. I allied with them for some years - I needed an army and powerful protective magicks to deal with the mages and unite the continent. After my death that cult was supposed to lose its priviledges, and Empire was to assume a polytheistic model, based on the society before the Magic Wars. Please tell me that at least this was taken care of?"

Yeah, but you only miss a little bit of it when important/interesting things are going on. I miss ALL of it. A few days ago I was considering just dropping out of FEF entirely because of that. :-\

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Your longest running fortress?
« on: May 01, 2015, 02:08:33 pm »
'Melbilonshen', 25 years, 220+ dorfs (and twice that resting in catacombs), brought down to 6 dorfs in 30 minutes of tantrum spiral. Had a waterfall system and an artifact sword called 'The Destruction of Heavens'. Fun fort, it was.

"How am I supposed to know!?" She growled, trying to push the door, but it didn't budge at all. "It's closed even tighter than it was with my spells. I can't explain this..."

16241
* Haspen leaves this post for Xanmy cuz Fezz's history knowledge is extremely important right nao v:!

@Tombraiders

"My children devastated...?" The chillness in the tomb suddenly got a spike in it's dreadfulness, to the point it induced a slight nausea in the stomaches of the three present.

The ghost of Troy Lionheart leaned - as much as a ghost can lean - against the sarcophagus, crossed arms on his chest, and looked at the visitors.

"Allright, I had enough. Six visits and everyone brushes away my questions about how Empire fares nowadays. No more I say!"

@Others:

The door slammed shut with thunderous noise, making Fyra jump in terror before she could reply to Alec.

"What the!?" She rushed to push the door open, but it didn't even budge.

@Tombraiders:

"You're not leaving this palce till I'm satisfied with the answers to all questions I have. You might refuse to cooperate, but I want to point out that I'm eternal, and you can starve and die. So how it will be?"

16243
@Tombraiders:

A green silhoutte began to coalesce in front of the sarcophagus, before it turned into a proper ghost; that of a tall man dressed in armor and cape. He looked at the three with his eye-less gaze.

"Who else do you think would be interred in the tomb of Troy Lionheart? I ask again, why am I disturbed so soon? The last lady that visited promised fifty years of peaceful sleep. But it had been hardly twenty, before you three show up." The empty eyesockets stared down at Fezz, Julius and Leo; all three men could feel a freezing chill going up their spines when the gaze of the dead Emperor rested upon them.

"Ah, you've brought one of my descendants here. So you're here to receive my blessing, then? Is that a tradition in the Empire now?"

@Others:

"Hmph. Don't mention it. If not you, I would've failed in my task for sure. Divola, there was a chance I could take on my own. But rebel leader Matilda and her troops would kill me. I'm grateful, especially that you also got rid of dangerous enemy of the Empire."

16244
Fyra pushed on the door, and the runes faded as the heavy door opened with a creak and rumble. Then she stood beside it.

"Better hold on your promise." She uttered to all three as they went in.

The tomb was a giant, long hall stretching into the darkness. Tall, square pillars supported the ceiling, preventing it from collapsing. The green tiles of mosaics were much better preserved here, forming whole floor and the walls still had whole patterns intact.

It was an eerie place, and a disturbing one too; on small alcoves, lined on both sides of the corridor, were skeletons, each of them maimed; one's skull was crushed while another's was missing. Another had several ribs missing, as if some blade cut them off. And another was missing every bone of its left arm. Each alcove had a plaque, but whatever writing was on them was already gone. This creepy display of skeletons was inconsistent with any burial rite of early Empire that Fezz knew of.

Then, at the end of the corridor, there was a small archway. After passing underneath it, the trio ventured into a small burial chamber, with a huge sarcophagus made of dull metal. The Imperial Flag, dusty and it's thread bare and ripped severely, was hanging still, attached to the low dome-like ceiling above it.

Then there was a chilling breeze...

"Why are you disturbing my eternal rest?" A disembodied voice asked quietly.

16245
Fyra grimaced at the question but remained silent for a moment, before another flash of light came from the door.

"I won't be defiling the tomb." She glared at Leo. "And the door has been opened. Who are the three people who shall be going inside?"
