The door was blasted again, and then again by Sonja. But as it collapsed, the walls soon wavered and faded around it!
Inside, there was a horde of magicians! Behind them, an elderly man was seated, looking tall, white and dreadful.
"Matilda and her rebels. I've prepared for your arrival extensively."
"Duke! My father have explicitly trusted you!"
"Your father trusts too many people for his own good, child. You think that I would turn against the very Empire that made my family? Fool. When I present your head... and the letters I've received from your father, the Emperor shall make me his right hand. I will be even more powerful than I am now."
"I've trusted you too. Was I supposed to be killed by Matilda's hands, grandfather? Why?"
"I will just say that I no longer need heirs to keep my lineage alive." He pulls out a tome so old that its pages have yellowed and turned into stiff, dry sheets of parchment.
"What? What do you mean by that! Grandfather!"
"Come. You will be the first in centuries to feel the wrath of Abaddon, book of the ancient Crusaders! Ha ha ha!"
Enemies' stats updated!
Meanwhile, combat continued in the corridor.
