You mirror the hand-claw motion of the Perunian Prince.

He seems confused for a while, and then fistbumps your claw, his fist slotting into your claw.

Then there's much laughter and rejoicing between the foreign Prince and his comrades, and the translator tells you this:

"The Prince is overjoyed that a deal was made, and he hopes that one day Perunians and Rugians will be akin to brothers."

"How about a celebratory feast?" The translator shakes his head.

"Perunians do not celebrate in advance. Once the caravans briing Perunian goods to Rug and Rugian goods to Perun, the Prince or his family will come visit and celebrate. But to feast for profits not yet made is considered an ill omen in the north."

A) "But we're not in the north! Let them taste finest meats and sweetest wines of Rug!"
B) "How convenient! I have one more audience to do, after all."

You yell at the translator, gesticulating at the foreign Prince just like he does at you, to make him shut up, or you will make him by throwing him into the dankest of dungeon cells.

Your body language, tone of voice, and the translator's words make the Prince of Perunians shut up. He even looks impressed-of-sorts.

He sits down on the cold stone floor of the throne room, and his men follow suit.

Then the conversation can progress - the Perunians actually want to establish a land route through the mountains to avoid the price-gouging of western merchants, whilst also hoping to contain the Fomorian threat and begin exploring their south and southeast (your northeast). The Prince is proposing a system of caravans, where hardened men and soldiers would travel alongsied Perunian merchants to exchange goods and patrol the mountains along the way.

"What can they offer to us?" The translator chats with the Prince some more, before turning to you.

"Ivory of mighty giant cows, antlers of the white stags, brown and black furs of forest animals, and items of copper and rock." The courtiers murmur, clearly interested in valuables and exotic items. "The people of Perun would love to obtain weapon-worthy metal, for theirs is hard to work and scarce to obtain, and they've heard that southern lands are aplenty in iron."

A) "We will buy their crafts and furs, but we won't sell any iron."
B) "Pah! A proposal not worthy of Rug! They should return home before they test my patience more."
C) "We can sell them some iron, but we have no need for skins and work of their craftsmen."
D) "That sounds good! Let us establish the trade caravans to enrich and form closer ties between our nations."
E) "The trade proposal is unworthy, but establishing a route between Perun and Rug sounds good to me. Through fires of beast-slaying we shall prosper!"

You decide to meet with the Perunians first.

Once they enter - nay, burst into - the audience room, their leader starts shouting words in your general direction while gesticulating towards the nearest window.

The interpreter stands silent before you adress him.

"Why are you silent?"

"Good King Bubba, the prince of Perunians is bemoaning the fact that he was made waiting for so long using words not worthy of translation."

"He is cursing me?"

"Actually, the women of your family and your court, hoping that they die or become barren for life." The foreigner in question keeps on talking and gesticulating still.

A) "Let him vent. Once he's done, we can talk."
B) "Tell him to calm down or I shall make him!"
C) "Cursing? At me?? To dungeon with him and his folk!"

You have the foreigners invited to your capital city and your palace.


The delegation of the Perun nobility has just entered the capital city. Bearded and brightly-haired, they are quite a sight for the locals, who look at the new arrivals with some fear and distrust. According to your squires, the delegation will be here in just few minutes - you ought to prepare.

Then, a guard arrives.

"My liege, the High Prelate of the New Church demands an audience. Apparently, the clergy of Old Gods in the western province of Koval have committed a great sacriledge."

And then, the Spymaster appears from the shadows.

"M'liege!" He tips his hat. "Latest report from my agents just arrived, so if you can spare the time..."

A) "I have no time! I need to meet with the Prelate first!"
B) "I have no time! The delegation from Perun is already here!"
C) "Guards will keep my guests at bay - speak to me, my good Spymaster!"

If it's particularly it might be Notrium.  Really stood out to me at the time and had that angle of mystery, story, and exploration along with harsh survival mechanics.

Echoing that. Notrium allowed you to gather parts and start building laser turrets and other such defense around your campsite or other places you often visit.
