Remember that besides your starting weapon, you have 300 Gold to spent (or keep) and the current special character creation price list is as follows:

Extra Iron-grade weapon: 300 Gold
Steel-grade weapon: 200 Gold + current Weapon
Vulnerary: 100 Gold (max.2)
Antidote: 100 Gold (max.2)
Pure Water: 200 Gold
