@Leo:

"I don't deal in medicines. The closest apothecary is down the road towards the docks." The man stood up and moved to adjacent room, and brought several staves with him.

"Of course, I have several of the cheapest, weakest healing staves. Two hundred each. I also have this Mend staff, for half thousand coins, and this Antidote staff. Two hundred as well." He then scratched his head, looking at a staff with swirly pink gemstone on top.

"I would offer this Sleep staff too... but it is faulty. I'm not the best when it comes to battle magic. You can have it for fifty coins."

@Maible:

There were biographies of each and every Troian Emperor (a mandatory set of books in every bookstore). Then there were books about Troy Lionheart, his rise to power, some books about various stages of Succession Wars, lots of books on Dragon Cult, several copies of 'Danger of Free Magic' in hard cover, and let's not forget few books about rebellions in the Empire, both recent and from the past.
There were several romance books, about same amount of stories about spies and swordsmen adventures, plus few books full of vulgar, sexual jokes and stories, and of course, at least fifty copies of 'Crimson Affairs of the Twelve Siblings', each in red cover with intricate golden decorations on the edges.

Province Shu:

"Of course, my Lord."

"I would argue that half a unit of food and gold is barely any price, my Lord Shu," the trade minister bowed his head. "But I won't question it."

Province Han:

"I have returned, benevolent Lord Han. My Lord, the great Shu, offers you a half a unit of grain and gold for your army." The trade minister of Han, hearing this, quickly stepped up to his Lord's throne and leaned to his ear.

"My good Lord Han, this is an outrage. We gain barely anything while we risk leaving our province totally undefended. I implore you, do not agree to this mockery of trade!"

@Inn people:

"Good. One hour, then." Irene bowed slightly with her right hand, curled into fist, at her heart - a standard military salute nowadays - and, turning on her heels, she walked toward the door and left without further delay.

@Leo:

"Good. I hate those stupid Dragon priests barging in and demanding the magical staves for half the price simply because they're half-assed pompous bastards with a fancy title and everything and guess who have to feed his family while they sit on their comfy cushions and... The man's rant devolved into a grumble under his nose, before he coughed and looked at Leo.

"Sorry. Sometimes I ramble incoherently. How can I help you, lad?"

Haspen: what are your opinions on a personal skill that decreases the MOV reduction of MOV-reducing tiles by 1? Within personal skill limitations of course

No.

If you want hax terrain rules, become Wanderer :P

Sorry for late replies, I was busy glueing up the map sprites (Candy's and Sheila's were especially tricky).

@Maible:

There was a bookstore, larger than the previous. It dealt only in religious treatrises (mostly pertaining to Dragon Cult), history books and romance sagas.

@Leo:

The blad, wrinkled man behind the counter - the only furniture in this rather small room - looked at Leo with a grimace.

"Priests... before we get to business, tell me... are you one of the Imperial Cult Priests?"

23892
Even after divying the 500 up, I doubt there's much we could get that we'd actually need. Nice that we have any gold at all to start this time, though.

YES YES PRAISE MY BENEVOLENCE AND GENEROSITY.

:P

@Leo&Maible:

The duo moved outside and then to the market district.

Leo quickly found a staff-maker's shop, just at the corner of the great bazaar. It was open.

Maible did found a bookstore that was apparently dealing in magical books, but when she approached the door, she noticed a small note nailed to it...

Imperial Order 222-SET158
By the order of Chief Inspector of the Department of Investigations of the Imperial Army, Setine Prison Forces:
The owner of this business have been detained for acquisition and distribution of magical books related to illegal magical practices, including but not limited to necromancy and hexes.
This business is closed until further notice.
-Cmdr. Ludvig von Strasse, 17.4.222

The date is from yesterday.

I do hope you realize you all started with 200 coins, right?

Just in case someone wants to moan that 500 coins from Irens is barely anything :P

@Sakura:

"Rest assured, it is not some kind of experimental weapon or magical artifact. Technically speaking, the things I carry are mundane in eyes of an uneducated commoner. No offense." She looked down for a moment in slight embarassment.

@Leo:

She looked up when Leo asked about departure time.

"Today. I will go and talk with the ship's captain to prepare for departure. I guess it might take an hour or so. Yes, that will be it. Let's meet in the docks in one hour. The ship, Speedwings, is docked at the pier closest to the lighthouse. Is that all?" Irene stood up, but waited, in case she had to explain something else.

@Masked one:

That's when she heard the last person's talk.

"That's what I'm giving you five hundred coins for. Buy yourselves truffles and wine, or weapons, or powerful spellbooks - whatever suits you, it's your money." With those words, she pulled a small bag out of her armor, and tossed it on the table toward Leo - it made lots of those tinkling, sweet sounds that hard cash does. Throught the opening, the mercenaries could see not only the standard golden coins, but also several Imperial Goldenrods; each of those little, gold ingots was worth fifty coins.

"The necessities, of course, like food, for that I will pay from my own pocket for you. Satisfied, I hope?"

Leopoldo gets 500 Gold!
