You send the Army to deal with the bandits!

500 AD, Mid-Spring

Quote
1

This move has been commonly labeled by future historians as 'a disaster'; not only your soldiers fail at their jobs, many of them desert their posts and join the bandits instead!

The raging horde of thugs and thieves even established a sort-of impromptu government right now, and even elected their own King, a brutish fellow called Yogen.

The Marshal drinks his sorrows while the Advisor hastily convenes with you.

"It is bad that the soldiers failed, but what view does it pose if they join the bandits?" He mumbles, patting his beard. "My sire, consequences of the failed action is one thing, but now we have a horde of bandits to deal with. This will not be solved lightly, we might need to expend money and soldiers to solve the issue."

A) "No, no, because, you see, if all the deserters are now gone, only the loyal and strong-willed remain. Our Army can take on the horde!"
B) "Fine, lets hire adventurers and mercenaries to supplant our Army in the coming fights with the bandits."
C) "Um, how about we wait a bit? The problem might solve itself, right? Right??"

Heads for Wise, Tails for Lucky.

Heads

500 AD*

You are Vindaren!

You have just became the King of Remoria after launching a rebellion with your friends and supporters and toppling down the corrupt regime of Thordor the Tyrant!

Your relatives and collaborators have known you for your wise plots and vast knowledge of stuffs.

The elderly Advisor arrives in your newest bedchamber to present you the fabled Scrolls of Kingdom Status, containing knowledge of all things in the Kingdom!

Quote
0,0,1,0

Happiness: 4
Population: 4
Economy: 6*
Army: 4

These look surprisingly lackluster and arcane to you, not helping that the Advisor is going on long tirade about these. Oh well, time to start ruling!

500 AD, Spring

Bandits!

In the chaos that followed the (brief) civil war, it was obvious to expect that someone else than either you or the Tyrant would profit during the strife.

Roaming bands of homeless vagrants and peasants are accosting travelers and raiding villages in the south of the country, for food, loot, and entertainment.

A) Alas, I cannot fight such a common plague!
B) Our soldiers will make short work of them!

You order the ones that were living with the Blighted to be killed.

A short list of the unfortunate names is soon passed to executioners, who kill the potential Blighted with arrows, and then the priests burn the bodies to ensure the miasma does not spread.

You also order that a special, fenced camp is to be erected around the Portal, where the next wave of refugees will be kept until there is guarantee the Blight did not come over with them.

Day 8

Early in the morning, before the Portal's scheduled opening, your officials meet with your hurriedly.

"Prince, we lack skilled laborers to construct houses and the camp around the Portal. Most of the skilled ones are now with the Sorceress, erecting the magical circle for her."

A) "Just force some peasants to lift weights then. Everyone can lift weights!"
B) "Forget about constructing homes for our current refugees, then!"
C) "Forget about the fenced camp around the Portal, then!"
D) "Send a message to the Sorceress, I need her laborers now and here!"

You tell the Sorceress that you will arrange for a stone circle to be erected nearby so she can study the essences of the soil.

"Appreciated." She speaks with bowed head.

Day 6

The scholars are thrilled about the 'Shortfurs', the round quadrupeds. They're very docile if fed well, and they allowed themselves to be shorn. The fur, while not very thick, can be easily woven into fabric.

Not only that, hunting parties have brought another eleven specimen. "They graze in north and east, on plains and hills, munching grasses all the time." The hunters say.

Some hunters return from the south; the swamps stretch for days, and they have yet to see landscape beyond.

Parties that went towards the mountains have yet to return.

Day 7

Blighted! Blighted have been found!

Two drunkards have 'turned' overnight, and those who seen then before claim they arrived three days earlier.

This means that Blight snuck into Blighthaven on the Day 4, during the very first scheduled arrival of refugees and supplies!

A) "We must hunt down those who stayed with them, and ensure the Blight's spread is nipped in the bud!"
B) "Soldiers must start making extra rounds, we can't afford more Blighted to appear."

You ask for more construction supplies and tools, to provide more of simple housing for the refugees.

The agent bows and returns beyond the Portal.

Day 5

You hear a worrying rumor - Xamantha the Sorceress is ill!

A visit to her tent disproves the rumors, but clearly shows something is wrong with her.

"The sky is alien." She replies, arranging some bones and pebbles on a stone tablet. "The stars are unknown, and the earth is silent."

"What do you mean?"

"I cannot perform my magickry well." She muses, sighs and starts re-arranging her pebbles in frustration. "I need a point where I can focus in solitude and begin the exploration of the essences of this world."

A) "We will build you a circle of obelisks so that you can study the earth."
B) "We will construct you a staircase to let you feel and explore the winds."
C) "We will fashion a crude observatory where you can chart the stars."
D) "I will set aside men and supplies to create a place of arcane studies, even if it takes a lot of time and effort!"
E) "I'm sorry to hear that, but I cannot help at the moment."

You quickly decide to send the matter to the judges. Fortunately, there's one of them who already moved to Blighthaven through the portal with you, and he takes the case.

Day 4

The Portal opens and supplies are delivered, along with several dozen families, hundreds of individuals, some livestock and important personages to establish some sort of government.

They also bring seeds and grains for the farmers to being planting in the soil in hopes of finding the crop calendar of this world.

News come that blighted villages surrounding the capitals have been deserted, and many camp under the city walls.

An agent sent by your father, the King, meets with you.

"His Majesty is asking whether you have any dire need for any kind of supplies. You have been given priority, as his son and heir."

A) "Weapons, armor and ammunition, please."
B) "Foodstuffs! And maybe some alcohol, too."
C) "Construction supplies, we need more houses built."
D) "No! The others sent to the other worlds might need them."

You side with the scholars and have the furry animals corraled.

Hunters and explorers are instructed to try and bring more of these back to Blighthaven; a native livestock might be a boon for both farmers and craftsmen in the future.

Day 3

One of the exploring parties in the south report seeing strange, black eels floundering happily in the swamp waters. When approached, the eels dashed into the depths.

Meanwhile, already disorder and violence creeps into Blighthaven!

Some farmers accused one of your officers of hoarding alcohol and meat that was supposed to go to their families.

"I taken nothing." The officer replies in defense and presents the inventory ledgers. "And the written word supports me!"

A) "But the written word can be forged. Guilty!"
B) "The farmers are greedy for important supplies, that's what happens here. Not guilty!"
C) "Both cannot be innocent..."
D) Direct them to a judge, you have no power here.

You decide to sit by the campfire amongst some of younger officer.

They seem a bit startled by your direct approach, but a cup of warmed wine and some shared bread make them open to you.

They view the land with a bit of a scare, as only few lucky of them had moved through the portal with their families; the relatives of majority of the rest are still camped in the capital of Ixor.

You lift their spirits with a little speech, in which you tell them that they being here is but a first step in securing the lives of their families, and neighbours and friends.

Day 2

With great clamor and curiosity of the crowds, a bunch of hunters who left to have a 'look' around to the north, arrive back at the camp.

With animals in tow!

They have captured what can be described as 'human-sized balls of fur' on four, short, stubby legs. Where their mouths are, two small tusks protrude, and their snouts are triangular and pointy. Their fur is of a dark blue and ashen coloration, with a bleak mixture of all the colors being predominant.

The hunters observed the beasts, which, while docile, were very quick to rush one of their kind who tried to take away their leafy meals from them.

Strangely, the beasts seemed indifferent to having ropes attached to their tusks and being led away. They were stubborn when they had to stop and feed, but once they grazed on some grass, they were once again easy to move around.

Scholars petition for the beasts to be corraled and observed for a period of time, while your officers want to see if the beasts can be tamed and ridden.

What to do about these?

A) Observation takes priority here.
B) Lets tame the beasts right away.
C) Kill the beasts for meat and bones.

"Blighthaven," you say, "will be the name of our new home." The council members agree that it is a good name.

Day 1

Laborers and craftsmen toil on constructing small houses and cottages for the incoming waves of refugees while those with other skills tend to the land, maintain supplies, explore the nearby surroundings, or accompany scholars in search for life and animals.

It is evening when you realize that this new home, this new air, this new night, makes you unwell and uneasy. You struggle to sleep; the red moon, smaller than the one in Ixor, doesn't help with its alien design.

You leave your tent, pondering what to do.

A) Get some wine and drink yourself to sleep.
B) Venture among your soldiers to share some time with them.
C) Make an errand around the place, asking travelers what they've seen.
D) Consult with Xamantha about your uneasy spell.

You are Prince Imam.

The buzzing sound and the nauseatic feeling of your intestines being rearranged into spirals passes few seconds after you step through the Portal.

The grasslands and swamps seem to be stretching in all directions. In the far west, five mountain peaks stand tall on backdrop of lesser mountains stretching across the horizon.

Day 0

Already work begins to construct rudimentary shelters and erect communal tents.

Your tent, the largest and decorated with Ixor banners, sits in the middle of this impromptu settlement.

The Council of yours gathers - several young but skilled officers, wise officials, and Sorceress Xamantha.

The members of the Council put on to the debate an obvious issue - how's to name the refugee settlement? Few proposals are drawn up amongst the gathered men and women.

As the leader of this expedition, you can always make one yourself, and nobody is ought to question it.

A) Firstsoil
B) Greenland
C) Safehearth
D) Gatepast
E) (enter your own)

Hope that helps!

Northern World, extra supplies and tools, and the Sorceress are in clear majority.

But leader votes are split, so its either Prince Imam the Charismatic or General Khoma the Wise.
