Farland Story on PC-98*coughemucough*
It's quirky little Fire Emblem game, it has apparently 7 installments. I'm playing the very first one and its absolutely cliche story of 'evil army invades and kidnaps princess, wandering hero sets out to free her and defeat the evil'... if only there were cutscenes or mission objectives to check
I find its fun, even if the difficulty rises fast and ranged enemy mages are absolutely OP.

Where i live the lockdown was loosened (-much to my dismay-) and work is killing me with all those idiots swarming back into my workplace.
Also i'm going to be a dad soon (-much to my joy-).

« on: March 12, 2021, 04:27:19 pm »I need some winning builds here, I keep seeing other people's but none of them work for me, I'm not sure if they're missing something out like their supplies or if I just get stupidly unlucky, like I tried Umiman's swamp+grove+spiders+vampire idea and all it does is nearly (or successfully) kill me every time I pass through.
Class, deck, stat priorities, supplies, buildings, method of placement, all that jazz.
I can tell you Rogue needs just two things: attack speed, and damage. You want to avoid any hard hitters; Flesh Golems and Wooden Warriors, for example. If you have Arsenal, it gives Rogue Necro's amulet, which translates to extra HP at start of every combat, further increasing survivability.
Outpost duders can help out in combat, too, and they even come over to bossfights. Speaking of bossfights: keep few Oblivions when Lich shows up and blow up his palace. The difference between having to deal with superpowered Lich and only-slightly-powered Lich is huge.
Because I find it more effective to watch each run and see how it is going. If I'm not getting an amazing combo of high-end gear and good combat traits, it becomes a farming run where I go until about 75% or so of the boss bar and then ditch out at the next camp pass.
Why not just go for full bar? There's nothing stopping you from retreating when you reach the incursion point.

Queen Glorantha: "One of my maidens, Kalara, has been robbed of a goblet that was in her household. The duo, her comrades of long standing, betrayed the rules of hospitality, and stolen the goblet. A bowl of gold fashioned onto a pyramid of agate and glass. This theft shall not stand."
King Carryx: "If it wasn't for this goblet, but just another trinket, we would be lenient. But Oimachus and Lucius must be punished."

I've bought the game on Saturday I believe?
By now I have nearly 30 hours and every one was worth it. I dunno what's so addictive, is it the build-from-scratch mechanics, the randomness, or maybe the fact its just a L O O P. Heck, if you don't care about loops themselves, you can even engage in some landscape/world designing thingy, the pixel graphics just work well for that
And for everyone having problems with playing as Rogue, unlocked Forests:
Forest and (and its variant card, Thicket) tiles give 1% (and 2%) Attack Speed per tile, with no adjacency hassle required (as with Rocks/Mountains for HP boost or Meadows-to-Blooming Meadows).
EDIT: Oh, and the OST is absolute banger. Dat 16-bit chiptune a la Castlevania or some such, ahhh

Suddenly, you're all in a dungeon. Places where you going to are not here, people you wanted to meet are not here, business you wanted to conduct, well, you get the idea.
The spacious chamber, lined with darkened bricks, is dimly-lit by a single torch, and a wooden door is the only exit. There's no windows.
The door opens, and amidst bright lights, a pair enters - a black-faced with a crown and black dress, with hooves instead of feet. Besides him is a woman clad in white toga, with golden scarf around her eyes.
"Be not afraid, mortals. You will not be harmed by us." Speaks the hoof-man.
"You may speak." Adds the woman. "You understand our language, and languages of others here. The tower's curse does not apply in this realm."

"That idiot brother of mine is endangering my plans once more, grrRR- no matter. I shall go and stall for time. Out of my way!" The green-haired mage moved to the front.
"You! Leader of rebel scum! Cedric! Come forth! We shall negotiate... uhh, things!"

"Cedric, don't do anything stupid..."
"I won't." Cedric moved to the front of his group, just inches away from Sylvianne and Margrethe.
"You wanted to negotiate?"
"Yes! I want to negotiate your surrender!"
"..."
"You see! Your head is worth quite a lot at the royal court at the moment. But the heads of your so-called rebels? Not so much! So how about we strike a deal, huh? Be reasonable kind and play into the heroics of old - offer yourself for execution! Then I might consider letting your 'comrades' go. After all, we're all gathered here to apprehend the vile rebel leader Cedric, not do any mass murder, right boys?" The 'boys' chuckled and laughed, weapons ready.
"So what do you say? It is a kind offer, it is a generous offer, and it is an offer you can't possibly refuse!"
"Is that it?" The mage lord nodded.
"Then I have only one answer to that!" Cedric suddenly unsheathed his sword and pointed it at the enemy.
"I cannot take your words as nothing more than an attempt at a joke, and one that you've failed miserably to boot!"
"Cedric dammit-"
"What!? HOW DARE YOU!! YOU BASTARD SCUM!! Get him! Kill them all! Leave none alive!! GET ME HIS HEAD!!!"
