A Roman, and a Celt, square off in the wilds...

An Assyrian, a Jew, and an Egyptian, walk into a tavern...

An oracle proclaims a certain Greek the son of heroes...

Or was it a Greek and a Roman teaming against a demon?

Something about magical Jews and Assyrian assassins?

Whatever people they are, something binds their fates forever:

They all suddenly find themselves in the same, dark dungeon.

WELCOME MORTAL, TO THE REALMS OF THE FAE.

QUEEN GLORANTHA AND KING CARRYX WILL BE WITH YOU SOON.

...says a hastily scribbled note on the wall.

You send a message of profound thanks and ass-smooching to the Overlord.

After few mintues, it bounces back. Apparently you do not have the required Reptilzoid clearance to send messages directly to the Overlord.

What now?

A) Get to work, we have issues to fix here!
B) Read the Member Charter of the European Union.
C) Read the Sea Level Prognosis file.
D) Read the 'NO RUSSIAN NUKES' memo.
E) Re-send the message to Overlord's office secretary or something. We will get it through!

You are Alexander Augustus, President of the European Union!

Your election into the office has just been approved by the current Sol Overlord and Reptilzoid Duchess, U Deko.

Your android assistant, Hans Zimmermann the 4th, brings you the PADD with Union's statistics at the moment, and forecasts for the coming year.

Support: 5
Popularity: 7
Population: 5
Military: 3
Economy: 3

"the annual sars season is particularily deadly at the moment, we are seeing approximately five thousand deaths daily across the Union." He says in the melodic, albeit robotic, voice. "inadequate supplies are being the foremost issue behind the death rate. reptilzoid quota not enough to remedy the problem. east european vaccine hoarding continues to be a problem."

"the Reptilzoid Overlord has sent you a congratulatory message."

"What's in it?"

"no holo-vid file attached. no voice file attached. the message reads: 'congratulations on being elected.'"

"the hi-tech manufacturing centres set up by your predecessor, Martin McMartin, see thousands applying for engineering, chemistry, astrophysics and telecommunications jobs. high chance of military and civilian equipment exports rising thorough the year."

There's still some files you could get acquitained with, or you could just get to work.

A) Get to work, we have issues to fix here!
B) Read the Member Charter of the European Union.
C) Read the Sea Level Prognosis file.
D) Read the 'NO RUSSIAN NUKES' memo.
E) Reply to U Deko's message, thanking profusely for recognition and acceptance by the Duchess.

The Reptilzoids came in 2040s. With bio-engineered plagues and solar mirrors, they flooded the Earth and decimated the Humanity.

It is now 2100 AD.

And you're the new leader of the puppet regime in one part of the Earth. Will you be a collaborator? A preacher of autonomy? A loyal pet? An undercover rebel?

Name:
Name's Position:
*President: Democratically-elected, Overlord-approved. Just barely. (+Popularity, -Support)
*Dictator: Your country was on brink of collapse - seizing power was the only way to keep Reptilzoids from intervening. (Population unruly)
*Vice-Overlord: Your Reptilzoid masters have a soft spot for you and decided to reward your long-time loyalty with prestigious governmental position. Hooray for Reptilzoids! (-Popularity, +Support, +Army, Population unruly)
Name's Dominion:
*Asian Bloc: Fortunately, when Reptilzoids struck, Japanese, Koreans and Chinese managed to unite under one cause. Unfortunately, mecha and laser jets just weren't enough. Fortunately, the Asian economy got back on track quite fast. Unfortunately, the Koreans are no longer around to enjoy its benefits. (+Economy)
*White States of America: Reptilzoid Invasion was the last thing Southwestern US states needed in the 2040s. It turned out so bad that even Reptilzoids avoid this, quote, 'den of misery and barbarism'. (+Military, -Population, -Economy)
*United States of America: The Eastern States remain relatively peaceful and populous, even if a circle of 11 stars looks a bit bland compared to US flags before the Invasion. (+Population)
*European Union: The disparate peoples of Europe were given quite few pieces of autonomy in exchange for economical dependence and military downgrade. That doesn't mean Reptilzoids will be unwilling to turn more of European lands into archipelagos as punitive action, as they did with Great Britain. (+Popularity, +Support, -Economy, -Military)

Cedric thought for a split second before turning his horse towards the right side.

"Then it is settled. We're going against the mages!"

Cedric squinted and glared in general direction of the mounted mage.

"I... no? Should I? Do you remember him from somwhere?"

Just moments after Cedric accepted the sword from Lucas, a thundering combination of hoof and steel boot coming from two directions confirmed many rebels' worst fears...

Their freedom was not to last much longer.

"The enemy's here!?"

"How's this possible??"

On the north-eastern road, a certain green-haired mage, sitting comfortably on his horse, chuckled to himself.

"Ah, this time I won't let you get away, you little rebel dog... Cedric! I think that's how they called you..."

"Sir Maertens, a heavily armed mixed unit coming from the west."

"Must be Emeric! Splendid! Splendid!! My strategic plans, as always, will bear glorious fruit! We will be rich, and famous! Hahaha! You! Call my brother's magicians and tell him to rush his cavaliers from the southern approach immediately! The rebels stand no chance if all three of us surround them!" One of the robed men beside the horse-riding mage bowed and began chanting a spell.

And on the north-western road, a serious-looking knight viewed the soon-to-be field of battle with appraising eye, before an armored crossbowman approached him.

"Lord Rotenstein. A group described by Sir Maertens have been spotted, and our mages are detecting his magical aura from the other direction."

"Oh? Ludger's 'magnificent strategy' actually worked? Never thought I would bear witness to success of that id-"

"What are your orders, sir?"

"Hmm... for now we can just hold. Even if the rebels press against us, we have the strength of our armor and the advantage of terrain. I can't see how they can survive today. Be wary of any attempts at deceit, though."

"Of course, sir."

Meanwhile, somewhere else, there was a lot of yelling...

"I AIN'T BETRAYED ANYBODY!!" Cedric pointed his new sword at Volk's throat, who reached for his steel axe.

"You must've been their spy all this time! How else would they find us!?" Johann intervened.

"Cedric, I know you're mad, but this is really not the place or situation to call anyone's loyalty in question!"

"I just- I..." Volk looked away, and then up a hill in front of them.

"I know where we are! I know where we are! We can get through this!"

"What do you mean?" Volk pointed his finger at the tree.

"See this oak? Me and the other poachers call it 'outpost oak'. Behind this mountain there's the local Tatalian border outpost, so naturally we would head off the path here. But if we take either road north, we will wind up right next to the outpost gates."

"Are you absolutely certain of that?"

"And why would we trust you? Maybe you're leading us into even a deeper trap!?"

"Cedric!"

"I ain't leading anyone into a trap and I know me paths well! This is it, I'm telling you!"

"We're between an anvil and a hamer right now, Cedric, so I'm willing to trust Volk even if that gives us the slimmest chance of getting away."

"Fine! We rush the enemy and try to break through to Tatalian outpost! But which group do we attack? We're so low in numbers, and they're better equipped and more numerous and..."

As stated on FEF Discord channel, this game will be concluded after the end of this chapter.

This of course means there will be no recruiting done afterwards.

That is all.

As I stated on FEF channel on our Discord, this game's is getting dropped due to combination of circumstances, part of them involving my workload IRL.

~~Chapter 4: Between the Anvil and the Hammer

Next day, at the northern side of the Sisters' Thrones...

With Chaunce sent ahead to inform Tatalian border guards in-the-know about the rebellion, the rest of the rebels had to trudge on foot.

Volk led the group, which was, for most of the part, rather exhausted; they've been making their way through the mountains since last fight, camping only briefly in a cold, wind-exposed ravine, away from the road. Volk was a light sleeper and woke early; the marching resumed before the sun even managed to hoist itself properly from behind the horizon. Johannes was the only one keeping pace with the woodsman; Cedric valiantly trudged behind, looking rather sore.

Cedric rubbed his face and let out an exhausted groan.

"Are we there yet?"

"Really, Cedric? Really??"

"Well, we are in Tatalia, kinda if you look at it. Nobody's claiming the heart of them mountains, ya know. Is just the first border place is, like, a bit of a walk still... but trust me, is gonna be today."
