Just finished watching whole Legend of the Galactic Heroes. 110 episodes of political and space war masterpiece. Goddamn.

Possibly one of the greatest anime I have seen so far. If only it had remastered graphics, I'm sure it would gain much large attention from people watching anime.

General Discussion / Re: The Dream Thread
« on: December 10, 2012, 02:40:26 am »
My developing fever caused me to experience a can of mystical images. Let's get started.

First scene was about me and Criminy (Sinfest character) going to typical highschool in US. We were checking the rules list to make sure we don't do anything bad when suddenly people started carrying guns. We ask Johnson (the Janitor) who quickly turns to be school president, and he is carrying guns. Then we look around and everyone is carrying guns. We check the rules; '#6 rule: be nice to girls' was changed to '#6 rule: carry guns for safety'.

Then I was on the USS Enterprise from Star Trek: Original Series, and janitor Johnson was there. He was revolting against current Captain (whoever it was) and using the same guns he captured the ship and shot me because I was 'unwanted element'.

After that, I woke up. It was Wednesday and as always in my dreams, I was late for classes. On my way there (I teleported to the bus!), I've met my old old classmate whom I haven't met in 5 years. We took a ride, he developed a moustache during the ride and when we got to the university, I decided to run away up the hill.

From the hill, I jumped down the maintenance ducts and went into Captain's room of USS Enterprise. The revolt was revolting on itself, and Johnson the Janitor got himself shot, with few of his buddies killed in friendly fire. Klingon battlecruiser that was attacking Enterprise wasn't helping their situation either. Of course this was dangerous so I ran through maitenance corridors and left the place, emerging in some castle. I've met emperor Uriel Septim (dunno which one), who was very polite. I've scouted the corridors and after finding several rooms coated in vanilla plush, I've leaned on a secret door and tumbled through a staircase onto edge of fine arching brdige over a chasm.

There was a robed body. I've approached it and was welcomed by some grimdark wizard. He was floating over the chasm, had a skull-face, and offered me gold and power. I've accepted, ran through the exit and ended in an autumn forest, where I met feline-girl in robe, surprisingly similar to the robe of the dead person at the chasm.

She asked me if I want to sleep with her to prolong her family line. I said 'sure', then I added 'wait, I'm gay!'. She replied with 'Yeah, that's your biggest problem.'

And then I finally woke up.

The rain stopped completely. A distant rumble of thunder and heavy clouds above where the last signs of ending storm.

At the grund, the bloody ritual continues;

Mason Govier, still rushing at his enemies, still escaping Death wit his ferocity. Or maybe it's Death who escapes his companionship? His attack against Berry Smiles proved to be unsuccessful in either hurting her or sending him to death.

Suddenly! Tim XVII runs at Mason, relieving Berry from the axeman's onslaught. Spear against the axe, swiftness against brute force. And this time, the former wins; the sharp speahead plunges deep into Mason Govier's heart. After vomiting some blood at Tim's leathery armor, staining it crimson, the axeman slumps to the ground, lifeless.

Berry Smiles in the meanwhile was busying herself with fight against BETA ALPH. His battleaxe had problems countering her swift evading, and her blade didn't had any problems bypassing his defenses. At one moment, the blade plunged into his abdomen, forcing him to cough up some blood.

Sensing that Death might be calling soon, BETA ALPH took on defensive position, his massive battleaxe not really being a good shield nor parrying tool.

But somehow, it was enough for next few seconds; Vendetta lunged at the heavily wounded axeman, trying to axe him a question. BETA ALPH, however, managed to survive the onslaught, using the handle of his massive battleaxe for blocking several hits of Vendetta's axe.

Just as BETA ALPH moved away to safety, he was attacked once again! This time, it was a young woman, wielding a small hatchet, mere woodcutting tool. Laughing, BETA ALPH began his defense. But the small hatchet was too quick for him, and soon, with a sickening crunch, this 'mere woodcutting tool' smashed into BETA ALPH's skull. He was dead before his body hit the ground.

Pretty Obvious moved toward Berry Smiles, trying wipe her smile from her pretty face. He fialed spectacularily, though; her short sword swished inches before his face, before his chest, and one time, it plunged right into his left leg, the blood trickling down his trousers. However, he still felt rather OK.

Away from the continous melee of the two groups, halberd-armed Aethelwiff stood before Brutus Romanov, who was clad in plate armor and hid behind large shield. The melee was a flurry of parries and slashes and cuts and stabs, and it looked as if Aethelwiff was at disadvantage. This was a mere trick on the halberd-wielder's side: The sharp tip of the halberd soon plunged right into Brutus' heart. Gurgling and choking on blood, not believing what have just happened, Brutus fell on his back, the plate armor rattling on the rocks. He died mere seconds later.

In the meanwhile, short goblin woman waved her sword before Berry Smiles. Woman against woman, sword against sword, the two locked in melee combat. After a while, Gobluck ducked under her opponent's jab, and stabbed at Berry's abdomen. With a loud sigh, Berry slumped to the side, dead; Gobluck's lips twisted in a grin of satisfaction.

Blood for the blood god! How long the festival of gore shall last? Only the Gods might know.

Reudh the Not Insignificant enters the battlefield!
AXE THE ZOMBIE and Genericus Maximus join the battle as well!

Yet another act of the bloody saga;

Mason Govier, seemingly at east with incoming death, throws himself into melee combat yet again. But it seems that Death doesn't want to take him to Valhalla, at least, not yet. The melee against Vendetta is slow and uneventful one, neither of the two getting even close to scoring a hit.

Tim XVII in the meanwhile lunges with his spear at Pretty Obvious. The large man have difficulties evading the blows, and at one moment, Tim's spear pierced through his sturdy chainmail and stabbed him at the chest - however, the cut was minimal, a scratch it is.

Berry Smiles then attacks Mason Govier. Surprisingly, the critically wounded axeman finds a spark of life in himself and surprises Berry with his onslaught! At one moment, his blade smacks her head with flat side. Ringing noise and red haze before her eyes were clear indicators that this is very, very bad.

In the meanwhile, Axe attacks BETA ALPH. This quickly turns to be a bad idea, and even later, Axe's head flies to the side, detached from the body - BETA ALPH decapitated his foe with one, powerful swing of his battleaxe. Another of Baron's lieutenants bites the dust.

Having killed Axe, BETA ALPH turns to the nearest enemy; it is Tim XVII. The valiant spearman yet again doesn't bend under the onslaught of his enemies; even better, his sharp spear scores another mark, plunging deep into BETA ALPH's abdomen.

At the same moment, Vendetta rushes toward Pretty Obvious, trying to kill him. Alas, the melee proves to be rather difficult - the large swordman evaded several attacks, before getting too tired to evade another one. Vendetta's axe slams into Pretty Obvious' chest, but the chainmail easily absorbs most of the force. Blood slowly trickles down the ashen, iron rings of the mail.

Next few seconds are rather boring; amongst clanking of metal and noise of the rain, Aria Lantra fights against BETA ALPH, just like Pretty Obvious has a duel against Tim XVII. Both of those duels were shows of masterwork parrying, but that also means that no blood was spilt over the already dark crimson ground.

Rain gives up and turns into a drizzle, but the fight continues, for the glory and death of it's participants.

Aethewiff enters the battle!
Brutus Romanov and Gobluck join the fray together!
Side A is no longer at disadvantage.

Just as the rain have lessened, the thunder struck the ground one last time this day, somewhere far away.

Mason Govier, still in his bloodied frenzy, rushed at Berry Smiles. The girl, however, began to evade his blows rather easily. That's it, until the moment in which Mason swung his axe faster than she was! Then again, she had a dose of luck - the large axe barely cut the skin on her shoulder, the chainmail taking on most of the blunt force.

Then, Athel von Scriver began a tiresome duel with Axe, the commander of his enemies. Thet two circled around each other, their respective axes missing their marks by mere inches almost every time, except those rare moments in which their weapons, under weird angle and/or too less force, slid against their armors, doing nothing.

Just few metres to the left, Tim XVII pushed his foot against Hurr Durr's body and plucked his spear from the bloodied carcass. His duel was short and lame, even - Hurr Durr, in his frenzy, basically impaled himself on Tim's spear.

Close to the two, Berry Smiles was watching, her face frowning that her kill was stolen.

The duel between Athel and Axe continued uninterrupted - their axes still not finding their targets, the two experienced commanders dancing with each other. Alas, there's always the fickle God of Fate looking over everyone, and this time, he screwed with Athel; plated boot slipped on a puddle of mud and Athel lost balance. Not wasting any bit of this opportunity, Axe quickly swung his axe and with a crunch metal, he pierced the skull and cut his enemy's brain, killing him instantly.

BETA ALPH rushed at Axe with anger boiling in him thanks to the death of his commander. Alas, the frenzied strikes were too predictable and too amateur, adn thus, Axe escaped the onslaught easily and without a scratch.

Old actors die, new actors emerge on the scene, and the deadly play continues.

Aria Lantra emerges on the scene!
Pretty Obvious steps from behind the curtains!
Side A is in great disadvantage!

Borg Cube fires 15 lasers, each dealing around 700 damage. Each turn of fighting Borg means 10.5k damage to withstand.

Borg Cubes jump only to inhabited systems, and lacking any in neighbourhood, to closest uninhabited one. They never enter non-system tiles.

Also, I say we deal with the Cube now. The more damage they do, the less interesting the victory will be, and also letting them go now might spawn another Cube. And last thing we want is army of Borg Cubes merrily genociding over the map.
