The rain intensified, as if Mother Earth was weeping on her dying children.

Shouting commands and insults was hard in the noise of clashing metal and thunders above, and thus, only Warren Gates, who was close to Commander Axe, heard him - Warren's heart filling up with hope and courage.

With a roar, Mason Govier charged at one of his enemies; that someone turned out to be Dr.Strange-Love. Exchange of easily parried blows commenced, until the moment in which Mason's axe cut deep into Dr.Strange-Love's left arm. He flinched and took few steps backwards, getting himself away from the fearsome axemaster.

In the same time, Athel von Scriver was locked in a fight with Berry Smiles. His axe against her sword, power against finesse. It was evident that the two were tough opponents, and in the end, none of them scored a wound on the other.

Suddenly, there was a wet thunk; a headless body slumped to the ground, it's owner was Warren Gates, blood gushing from the open neck. His head bounced and rolled away, and soon got lost between other corpses - there goes Axe's support for the youth. Hamm celebrated his fifth kill with a wide, almost perverse, grin.

Then two duels that progressed similarily and similarily have ended. Here we have Tim XVII and Hamm, and nearby, Berry Smiles and Hurr Durr. The two pairs danced gracefully with each other, accompanied by Hurr Durr's loud hurrs and durrs. Ultimately, though, neither of the four have managed to even scratch their respective enemies.

It was only when Berry Smiles went into offensive that she managed to knock Hurr Durr from rhythm; the axeman had problems maneuvering through her elegant strikes and jabs, and at one moment, her blade sunk into his armor and through it, into his flesh, wounding him, but rather lightly this time.

Two commanders locked in a fight; Athel von Scriver against Axe. Their axes swung mercilessly, only to swoosh in the air when the opponent would move away. At one time, however, Athel misstepped on the muddy ground and felt pain in his left arm - it was Axe's axe that sunk into his shoulder, cutting through the armor for the first time.

Next moment and another duel commenced; BETA ALPH charged at Hamm, slayer of five of his comrades. The still fresh and fast BETA surprised his opponent with the powerful strikes and skillful dodges. Suddenly, Hamm have miscalculated his move and the last thing that he saw was BETA's battleaxe coming down at his head - he didn't saw or heard when the blade slammed into his head, cutting it apart almost until neck. Then, Hamm's body quietly slumped to the ground.

Visibly angered, Athel von Scriver rushed at young adversary that tried to circle his group. Athel's axe was locked in melee with Dr.Strange-Love's two-handed sword. The youth was wounded and was too clumsy, and this was his undoing: with a quiet crunch, commander's axe slammed into Dr's chest, cutting open his lung and heart. Gasping for air, and then, choking on blood, Dr.Strange-Love fell dead amongst his former comrades.

The battle continues without him.

Vendetta steps forward!
This part of battlefield looks slightly less clustered, both sides lacking numbers.

As far as graveyard shows, Hamm scored 3 kills so far: Peter Kazer, Some cliche'd guy in a robe, Rylen Lantra :D

27963
This part started with a literal thunder - first there was a flash, and the loud rumble rolled over the landscape, momentarily silencing the sounds of battle.

Mason Govier ran at Rylen Lantra, locking with her in a battle. But soon he regret his decision - her shield was too much for his chaotic axe strikes, and her sword found it's mark - the blade pierced deep into axeman's body, Mason Govier's blood gushing out onto Rylen's blade, adding to the flavors the sword have tasted today.

Just a mere second later, Athel von Scriver stood against the lady, and again the two clashed together. As if it was some kind of cursed tradition, Rylen's sword couldn't again harm Athel, and Athel's axe couldn't get past warrior lady's large shield.

Then Hamm went up to battle with Rylen again. However, something was wrong with female commander - her movements sluggish, her footing unsure, her blocking contributing more to luck than her skill. And suddenly, she tripped - the blade flashed with the light of thunder, and pierced into Rylen Lantra's body accompanied by a roar of another thunder above the battlefield. Hamm lifted his left leg and pushed his enemy from his sword, the body falling on it's back. And so, life of commander Rylen Lantra have ended.

Seemingly inspired by victory of his comrade, Thagi rushed at Tim XVII, master of the spear, thinking that victory was written in the stars. And it was - but not for him. Soon, Tim stabbed deep into Thagi's body, piercing his organs. Gurgling and choking, the young warrior took two steps backwards and fell dead on the blood-soaked ground.

Let's go back few seconds earlier, though: A young man by name Berry screamed at the sight of his commander dying. With roar of anger, he jumped at Hamm and almost took him by surprise. Yet, the skilled weilder of the massive sword parried and blocked the hits rather easily. Who knows how-

"HUR DURR DURR DURR!" Screamed Hurr Durr with a crazed look in his eyes, rushing at Berry Smiles. Barely avoiding the powerful first strike, Berry found himself at slight advantage. However, every time he managed to lunge with his blade at crazed axeman, the large shield that Hurr Durr carried with himself helped him stop the sword from reaching his soft flesh.

And again fight partners were switched - this time Hurr Durr had to stand against some other enemy; Warren Gates. This confused him and soon, Warren was in offensive, his halberd swishing near Hurr Durr's ears and appendages, before actually cutting on into his arm! The wound looked nasty, but Hurr Durr didn't seem to be moved at all by it.

And so the seemingly endless battle passed it's tenth minute.

Think of something that can go in a single roll and I will propably allow it? Maybe I should do some random events like archery strikes or something...

This is also an simple-RTD made in less than three hours, so please excuse how crude it is :P

People can't enter battlefield between turns :P

As the clouds overheard darken, casting shadows on the crimson fields below, so the battle continues.

Tim XVII and Mason Govier lock with each other in a short melee. Jab, stab, parry, dodge, and this goes for a moment, nothing happening at all, their armors bearing bruises and scars, not their bodies.

And suddenly a body falls lifeless to the ground - it is ALPHA BET! As he was fighting against Some cliche'd guy in a robe, he got a bit too clumsy, a bit too slow. And in one moment, that was too much for him - the sharp axe slammed against his side and sliced across his body and organs, almost splitting him in half.

Athel and Rylen still dancing with each other. Every blow parried, dodged or otherwise evaded. Athel's armor too thick for the small blade, Rylen's shield too large and too skillfully wielded for the commander's axe to find a spot to hit on.

Suddenly, TOMIO appears at Athel's side, seemingly trying to snatch a sneaky kill! But Athel isn't mere recruit, oh no - with grace and skill, he turns around, parries the blow, and his axe, with wide arc, hit on TOMIO's skull from above, a sickening crunch so loud that even Rylen heard it, the blood gushing after the blade when Athel dislodged his weapon from TOMIO's body.

Second later, another man ends his life too early; It is the mysterious, Some cliche'd guy in a robe. After getting weared down by Hamm, he became to slow and at one point, he could do nothing against the long blade - it pierced right through his heart. The mighty blade once again had a bloody drink, and Hamm moved away, leaving his opponent, in search for a new kill.

Rylen, seemingly not interested in dying as quickly as her comrades, clutched on the leather straps of her shield and assumed a defensive position.

And just in time, it seems. Thagi, a wielder of a battleaxe, rushed at her. Five times the massive blade struck the shield, and five times Rylen withstood the attack, moving the shield a bit and shifting her body, dispering the force of the strikes so the shield doesn't end split in two.

Athel von Scriver was busy too in the moment, fighting with a blademaster by name of BEcause. Alas, it was just a stop on the way to glory - the bloodthirsty axe of the commander soon sunk deep into Because's shoulder, under an angle, rending through his flesh and bone, almost reaching the spine. With an inhuman gurgle and mouth full of blood, Because fell to his knees, and then to the ground, his breath stopping few seconds later.

Tim XVII, a relative of late TIM XVI, didn't want to end like the other, and managed to score a hit - his spear plunged into the chest of Thagi, but the strike wasn't deep nor precise enough, and thus, Thagi had some more time to life, but who knows for how long...

Berry Smiles, Hurr Durr and Warren Gates all enter the battle right now!
Side B is currently at disadvantage.

Play With Your Buddies / Re: Let's Play Star Trek: Birth of the Federation!

The more pressing concern is, of course, the Borg on the map. I've never seen any AI destroy even one Cube, so it's always on hands of human player(s) to get rid of the Borg.

Considering that Borg get another vessel roughly per each (or two) destroyed system, and given that the galaxy map is small, we might want to construct additional cruisers and deal with the cybernetic threat.

Unless you count on your luck, as in, Borg kill everyone else but us :P
