All PC information is always shown and updated in the first post :)

Also, lessened victory condition bodycount from 30 to 20.

And so it began, an eruption of clanks, screams, taunts, cheers and thuds as bodies fell on the ground.

Here we have the noble woman Rylen, locked in a flurry of parries and blocks as the blade of Mason Govier tries to pierce her defenses. Alas, the two merely dance with each other, a show of skill for sure, but an unproductive one.

Uriel Ultim however pays no attention to elegance, and with a brutal sweep of his two-handed sword, he slashed into the arm of Peter Kazier, a scream of pain escaping his throat as he stepped backwards a little, away from the blood-stained, shining blade.

He was relieve soon by his comrade, Tim XVI, whose spear went easily through the soft surface of Uriel's aketon, and stabbed deep into his body. Uriel couldn't restrain the gush of blood that erupted from his mouth, the world blacking out for a moment from the nerves' overload with pain.

On the side, a robed man keeps himself from the fray, covering behind the shield.

And back to Tim XVI we go; as he was locked in the melee, with skilled axeman, Athel von Scriver. His axe soon found it's way past the shield, past the leathery armor, and struck deeply into Tim's flesh, spilling the blood on the yellow grass beneath his feet.

Let's change our view - oh, here we have, this young man who comes by name of TOMIO. He charged the silent swordsman, Hamm, but the valiant charge soon turned out to be a bad choice; Hamm's mastery of the sword allowed him to parry the furious strikes. After finding an opening, he struck with his blade, piercing the layers of iron rings and wounding TOMIO's side. Fortunately, the wound is rather shallow, even if blood is trickling through it constantly.

Oh no! After horizontal slash of the halberd, head of Uriel Ultim flies upwards in an arc, blood marking the trail. He was slain by no one else than Peter Kazier, the very same one that Uriel wounded mere seconds ago. He died valiantly, that's for sure.

With a roar of anger, Hamm rushed at Peter, exchanging blows in attempt to avenge his comrade. However, Peter was seemingly too clever to take his chances, and the brief encounter ended in a flurry of metal hitting against metal.

Rylen, the swordlady, move from Mason and rushed at the other enemy, that one who had fancier outfit than other soldiers - his name was Athel von Scriver. The two commanders are tought but lady Rylen seemingly was out of synch - her movements sluggish, he almost losti t against Athel; praise to her swift, short blade that parries the strikes, and large shield that protected her from many blows.

Whilst Athel was busy, one of his soldiers, That guy, used the occassion and lunged at Tim XVI. Then, few seconds later, the massive battleaxe found a weak spot in Tim's defense, and, with a sickening crush, the axe almost split Tim's head in two, the blood and brain matter gushing out in effective fountain, staining That guy's face.

And this is merely the beginning.

Because enters the fray!
ALPHA BET joins his comrades!

[The point is, I'm in middle of writing the turn and Tomio's thing is already written down. Sorry, won't change it. And besides, Peter is on your side, Tomio :P]

You've made an excellent decision. See everyone? See? You really SHOULD watch LoGH. But, I don't want to say too much because I don't want to spoil anyone/anything accidentally. Suffice to say it's really good - deep space war/politics, I promise you!

I'm right after ten episodes. It is truly glorious.

Go Jessica Edwards! :D

I have killed the honorless Chuzobo, who tried to kill my grandfather, and then I fulfilled revenge on Yoshiyaki and his son Enjun, two mighty warriors, who killed my grandfather and later, my father after several assasination attempts.

The last to go was supposed to be Soho, who tried to kill both my father and grandfather (and failed) but he was choosen as my Lord and I couldn't just waltz to his home like this. For safety, I've married my daughter Tamano to the house of family which wasn't involved in this whole circle of revenge and plotting, and then I, under cover of the night, snuck into the palace of my Lord.

I've crossed the first floor without raising an alarm, four spear wielders dead in the corners. On the second floor, I've slain a great number of the guards who at last noticed my presence. Then, the third floor came and after slaying zounds of guards, I've scoured the rooms - Soho wasn't there!

It was then when it struck me that he must've been sleeping on the first floor all the time. I've descended and in a tight corridor, a group of spearwielders managed to wound me. With said wound, after slaying all who dared to oppose me, I've stood before my Lord in one of the corner rooms; he was ready for the fight.

The almost ten-minute duel was a flurry of miraculous parries; when one blade was striking at the opponent, the other blade met to stop the blow. This carried until we were even in wounds - 3 cuts on both me and Lord Soho. Revenge was at hand.

Then, by unfortunate keypress, I've made left-side swing, far from the opponent, instead of right-side strike. Of course, he didn't waste the occassion, and with one quick slash from above, my head fell down, detached from my body.

And so ended the tale of my family. But it was a glorious one.

It's only players vs players for now, sorry!

And if you guys could bold your actions, it would be really... swell!

37th Falcon, Year 198 of the Third Dynasty...

The autumn wind carried a flock of brown leaves right between two armies, which were standing mere hundreds of feet away from each other. Mean-looking mercenaries mingled between armed peasants and knights in shining armors. Both had equal numbers of approximately four thousand men.

On the left side, the banner of Ataraxian Army flew - beige field encompassed by purple rectangle. On the other side, the banner of Bullenburg Baron's shifted in the air, a lion's head on black field.

A young man, dressed in purple and silver robes, stepped forward from the ranks of Ataraxians. He had wavy, dark blonde hair, long nose and trace of perfume followed him.

"Baron of Bullenburg! Come and show your pig face!"

"I shall not stand insults!" A voice boomed from behind the lines of the second army. Soon, a short, tough-looking man appeared in the front. His battleaxe sharp, his clothes and leather armor bloodied, and his head indeed like of a pig: small charcoal eyes, round face and wide nostrils. His cheeks red, possibly from exhaustion, or maybe embarassement.

"Come back from where you came, wench! How dare you rebel against our noble king!"

"Noble king? Ha! Julian is just an oppressor of freedom, commerce and science, like his father, and grandfather, and those before them! Think, Baron! Join us, and you will see the road of enlightment!"

The pig-faced man laughed, and then spit on the ground. "I would rather die than join your merry group of vagabonds!"

"Then we do battle!" The young man in purple and silver clothes shouted back, and went between his men, just like his opponent did. Soldiers became uneasy as the orders were first whispered. Then, the orders were barked and commanders of their troops roused the men with fine and valiant speeches, speeches promising glory and loot and wenches.

"CHAAAAAARGE!" A raspy shout was heard from behind the lines of Ataraxian army, and the men rushed forward. The mass of armed men began to shout, and their opponents prepared themselves for inevitable, the distance between the armies growing smaller and smaller with every second. The noise of the stampede increased, before everything exploded in cacophony of sounds;

The battle has begun!

Goal:
First team to kill at least 20 opponents wins!
Ataraxian Army: 20/20 opponents killed
Army of Baron Bullenburg: 17/20 opponents killed

Remember: You can attack a player or defend yourself.
Stats will be updated in the first post.

No worries. The flow (of bodies) will be rather quick, so I will be impressed if you manage to RP a lot :p

Just one more starting player for Team A needed! :D

28002
Blargh. Too many people. Timezone intervention.

Waitlist.

I still need your name, side and skill :p

28003
Team A has 3 players, Team B has 4...

I think we will be good to go with at least 5 players on each side :3!

Roll To Dodge / Medieval Fodder Simple-RTD! (v1.0) And so it ends!
« on: November 30, 2012, 03:42:13 pm »
DOTH ART WELCOMED TO THE MEDIEVAL FODDER, LAD!

In Medieval Fodder, all you have is DESIRE TO SLAUGHTER!

For the glory of the Empire! Or Republic! Or the Union! Or whatever you're fighting for.

It is RTD which has basically only two rolls:

Hit roll, and damage roll.

Damage roll depends entirely on the weapon.

Hit roll (1d6) is more complicated:

The person who wins the roll deals damage to the player who lost the roll.
The roll, however, is modified by actions. Each player can ATTACK or DEFEND in his turn.
DEFEND'ing player doesn't retaliate in the same turn.
DEFEND'ing player gets +1 against ATTACK'ing player, but only if ATTACK'ers roll is higher.
Shields give a bonus to DEFEND'ing player just as if above rule is applied.
Shields benefit the ATTACK'ing player, with a -1 modifier.
WATCH OUT, because the defend/shield bonus will only equalize the rolls - you will never get higher roll than attacker.
The maximum of the Parry bonus is +4; if you rolled a 1 against a 6, sorry - better luck next life!

Example:
Hargh rolls a hit of 6. Phargh rolls a 3.
But, Phargh DEFENDS (+1) and is wielding a Small Shield (+2).
Thus, both rolled a '6', and the whole melee ends with few clanks instead of a gush of blood and pain-filled screaming.

In case of operating a wheel or doing something, a standard 1d6 roll will be applied as well.

THOU ART WHOM?

In Medieval Fodder, no backstories are needed. No multitudes of labels and bonuses.

All you need is:

*-Those are modified (at least partially) by skill you choose!

THY FATHER TAUGHT THEE WHAT?
