You decide to check on the status of the station, and ready yourself for maintenance work if needed!

But check-up is all you need to do. Everything is working order - except the little warning sign that power box at Fuel Pump #10 is damaged. But that's how you left it and so easily dismiss the warning.

You leave the command center and return to the bar - which is empty.

Louise and Simon have yet to return.

A) Trivia!
B) Zirconius!
D) Idling!

"You shouldn't abandon him then, instead, how about some honest communication?" Louise grimaces.

"We've just made an attempt, and he ran to the ship."

"Try again?"

"What would that accomplish?"

"Try again. This problem won't fix itself and Simon is not equipped to fix it alone either." Louise lets out a hum, eyes closed for a while.

"Your solution might be correct." She leaves her seat and walks towards the main gate. "Thank you for your input."

A moment later, with a hiss, the main gate opens, and she walks past - then the gate closes behind Louise.

You look over at the gate, then clean the shot glass.

Tap tap tap, your fingers go against the counter. You might be free, for the time being!

A) Time to put on the favorite holo-vid series of all - Zirconius!
B) I have a hunch they might be coming back, let's just read some trivia via console's network.
C) It's been a while since I did a maintenance check of the station, to be honest.
D) I shall idle the time away!

"Make them toil the soil of Surinthomus! They will make great beast of burden and fields!" The decree is heard by all and within weeks, adult and healthy Mammos are equipped with harnesses to drag behind them the sharp, fang-like plows.

512 AD, Last Week of Late Spring

The preparations for the journey are finished. You boat the large boat constructed for you specifically, and your entourage takes several other boats, all filled with wealth and trinkets for purpose of giving gifts. Each boat hosts a dozen guards as well, armed with axes and bows.

As the boat is pushed away from the pier, people young and old gather to see you off, some young ladies throwing pebbles before your boat to scare away evil water spirits that might wish to drown you.

Congratulations! Cyrus has embarked on a Journey!

During his absence, his wife Dugda, and the Advisor, will govern Surinthomus to the best of their abilities.

512 AD, Last Day of Late Spring

The journey of five days on the River is uneventful. Must've been the blessed pebbles!

Your procession of boats has to disembark on the side of the river opposite from the city walls of Rycht. Your courtiers are amazed at the sight - not wooden logs nor cobble marks the walls, no, they've used shaped stones, carved so well that you can't see any chipping or holes, except those coming from corner towers.

But other than that, you realize upon entry, it is city like any other. Lowly commoners go about their daily business, forming lines on edges of the dirt roads to watch your procession when they realize a foreign monarch has come. Huts and houses are made of clay and wood, covered with roofs of hay or timber. If not foreboding closeness and tallness of the stone walls surrounding this settlement, and of course, layout of streets unknown to you, you could easily mistake this for Surin.

Your entourage and guards approach a small keep, similar to yours - tall, with central building surrounded by smaller buildings, but the walls are also made of stone.

A tall, bearded man welcomes you as your entourage enters the courtyard. Servants and guards alike cannot pry their eyes from you, your entourage, and the wagonloads of gifts you're bringing inside.

"Greetings, we've heard of your arrival. Allow me to welcome you on behalf of my lord and liege, King Herykk. He is currently unavailable to greet you, for he is personally overseeing the last details of the Seating to ensure that everything is of highest order."

A) "Thank you. I'm a bit tired from the journey, so if you could see us housed somewhere for today?"
B) "I wish to speak with King Herykk in privacy first. Can you arrange for this?"
C) "Where are other Kings? I would like to meet with at least some of them, if this is possible?"

289
This is a choice between economic boost and army boost.

290
You order youths and peasants pushed into military service.

512 AD, Spring

Your wife, Dugda, is pregnant again!

The healers believe the child should be born somewhere around Autumn.

512 AD, Mid-Spring

At this day, you have an audience with the beast-tamers and Druids responsible for taming and breeding of the Mammos.

"My liege!" Says the beast-tamer in charge of the whole. "The Mammos are healthy, aplenty, and well-behaved. Waiting five years did help us master their spirits and ease them into work. We believe the herds are truly ready for menial work. But if you so desire, a year of combat training and harness-weaving could have them fielded by your soldiers as beast of transport and war!"

A) "At last! Make them toil the soil of Surinthomus for the good of all living here!"
B) "At last! Have them trained for war, they shall strike fear into hearts of our foes!"

291
"How did it come to this in the first place?"

Louise hums, and crosses her arms on her chest.

"Unfortunate timing part on his biological clock and me not being a good... parent? I was careless with my clothing, and perhaps was too accomodating for him. With his uncle and my husband, uh, dead, the boy lacked guidance for the past one-and-half year, and I think he took the idea of being 'man of the house' in entirely wrong way... something I never actually considered, now that I think of it. In fact, I rarely considered anything related to him, only the ship's finances and our amenities to enjoy comfortable spacefaring life." With a sigh, she leans away, staring at the ceiling.

A) "Continue, please."
B) "You two need to be separated, I can see that now."
C) "You shouldn't abandon him then, instead, how about some honest communication?"

293
You pour her a shot of Bricklayer and she lifts the credchip for you to scan. (+50c)

Today Earnings: 364c
Monthly Earnings: 6501.5c

She downs the shot in one go and lets out a sigh, staring into the glass.

"You did talk with Simon about me."

"Yes. I tried to dissuade him from setting his mind on you."

"Thank you, but next time, do not tip-toe around the issue."

"Of course."

"Should I leave him somewhere, maybe planetside..." Louise looks at you. "What do you think?"

A) "He is legally adult, so there's nothing stopping you."
B) "That would be a bit cruel. He is your nephew after all, no?"
C) Shrug.
D) "How did it come to this in the first place?"

294
Funk does need to update his equipment, yeah

295
"Sorry, gotta man the bar, as they say." Louise smirks, and turns to her nephew.

"Well, Simon?"

"You're pretty and strong and-"

"Simon, I'm your aunt."

"-but you're super cool and a cyborg-"

"And there are other super cool, pretty, strong cyborg girls out there, you know that, right?" You get a slight feeling of deja vu as the boy fidgets and grumbles to himself.

"But, uhh..." Simon glances in your direction, and his cyborg aunt hums.

"Right. Let's go..." Louise looks around and then points at the main gate.

"Out. We have to talk, really." She leaves her seat, and her nephew, after drinking the remainder of his mix, follows suit.

It's only scant few minutes before the main gate opens and Louise walks back inside, alone. Looking nonplussed, and only slightly angry, she sits back at the bar and drinks her drink in one big gulp. She looks the glass over, puts it down, and steeples her fingers against her eyes.

You decide to let her cook.

1236USY.9d/1m.0336h

"Bartender." Louise straightens in her seat and fishes out her credchip. "Something strong please." She did this the last time, so-

A) Pour her a shot of...
*A) Wóda
*B) Dry Jet
*C) Wet Jet
*D) Bricklayer
*E) Lamp
*F) Pneumo
*G) InPulsar
*H) Pontifex
B) "Something more specific?"
C) "You sure you want to drink after this?"

"Is something the matter between you two?"

"Yes." "No!" Louise and Simon look at each other, and the boy quickly turns away with a blush.

"There is. You have been behaving considerably strange for the past few months."

"It's nothing."

"Lies. Do not lie to me, Simon."

"I'm telling you, it is nothing."

"There is something."

"Really-"

"And if you keep saying there isn't a problem between us I'm going to maroon you on this outpost and you will have to help our bartender friend clean the bar for the rest of your life." The boy gasps at the threat and even you are not sure if Louise is joking or not - her calm and stoic voice makes it sound like genuine threat. Simon takes a sip of his drink - for courage, you guess - and then clears his throat.

"I love you?" Louise smirks.

"We are a family, that's a-"

"I love you!" Simon repeats his statement, with emphasis on the middle part, and then Louise looks like something unpleasant clicked in her head, and she puts on a scowl.

"I think I see now." She glares at her nephew for a brief moment, then turns to you.

"Would you kindly give us a moment?"

A) "Sure, I think I have maintenance to do over back there anyway."
B) "Sorry, gotta man the bar, as they say."
